What the hell?! This is unfair. Damon's not allowed to trasform himelf to a dragon but they can?
"This is not fair!" I blurted. I frustratingly look at the God of Classife. He does not have any hint of remorse on what's happening.
Hello? We're about to die in here!
"Collding their crystals can make a bigger shapeshifting," Damon says. I looked at him puzzled. "They can only imitate my physical form but not my power." He smiled. I frowned at him. Who cares if they can or can't imitate his real gift? The thought of them being bigger is enough to make me yield already.
"What do we do?!" I asked nervously. He stared at the growling fake dragon in front of us.
"We'll play along." He smirked.
What? What does he mean by play along?! I scowled when he started running for an attack. I watched him with an exhausted face. Are we playing?!
I rolled my eyes and followed him.
Damon jumped on the dragon's back. He attached himself to its nape and try to control it. My eyes grew big when the white dragon started shaking itself to god rid of Damon. I didn't waste any time and raised my sowrd.
"Haaaa!" I screamed on the top of my lungs as I run block its attack.
"Yahh! Hah! Hahh! Hahh!'
The Dragon moves more swiftly than what I was expecting. Despite its huge form, it can fight me while still tying to remove Damon on its back.
"Aim for the neck!" I heard him yelled.
Neck?
I avoided its attack and rolled to the ground. I glanced at the huge dragon in front of me. Damon's on its nape and is trying to control it with his rope.
"Haa!!" I yelled and jumped to give its neck a really hard punch.
"Grhhhh!!!" The dragon groans. It started swaying from side to side like a drunk man. Damon's still on its nape and trying to control it.
"Grghhhh!!" it groans so loud it can break our ears. The dragon landed on the ground harshly. I looked at the dragon's face. Its eyes are gray and not green. It's definitely not Damon.
I lifted my sword and pointed it on the fake dragon.
"Yield," I said fiercely. The fake dragon looked at me in awe. I wanted to believe it but I didn't lower my guard. "I said yield!" I screamed.
Damon jumped off on its back and walked to my side. The dragon started to get smaller. I looked at Damon.
"We won," I said.
I smiled when I finally saw their normal form. Freeda has a dangerous glare on his face while Steve has a sport smile.
"And our winning pair is Golden Young and Damon Felono!" Diante announced. The crowd started cheering loudly. I almost forgot that they're here watching us.
The Batailen ended like that. It was a tiring day and I received tons of congratulations and bruises too. All
of us were able to meet Miss Puff for consultation. She gave us lots of herbal medicines.
I still can't believe that we were able to win the battle without using our gifts. Damon wasn't able to transform himself to a dragon and I, on the other hand, just don't have a gift.
My lips curved into a smile when I felt Damon's hand on my waist. He put his chin on my shoulder and snuggles.
"Are your hurt anywhere?" he asked sweetly. I smiled and shook my head.
"No. Are you?" I asked back. He chuckles.
"Of course not. It was an easy fight," he responds arrogantly. I elbowed him jokingly. "Aww!" he groans.
"I really thought we wouldn't make it. We were giftless," I told him. His hugged tightens.
"It's not like I'll let them hurt you. I'm more than willing to break the rule if they ever hurt you," he whispers.
My face falls. That Freeda girl.
"What do we do about Freeda? You said she's the girl you saw on the bathroom," I asked worriedly. "I'm sure she knows something about God Gaviel's missing bludgeon."
He blew a sigh.
"Yes. About that. We need to investigate further. What we know isn't enough to prove her guilty. We need to find more evidences."
"But... What if it's too late?"
"We have to sort this out carefully. She's imitating God Hlaford's bird. That's what she uses to spy on the God's every move," he says.
"That's why we should let him know as soon as possible!" I blurted. I turned to look at him. He smiles and caress my face.
"Not yet, baby. We still have a battle to finish," he answers. My face turned pale. Oh shit! I almost forgot about that.
"Was Diante serious?" I asked reluctantly. He chuckled.
"Of course," he responds.
I frowned. But that isn't fair. Besides I'm scared of their kingdom. I don't know. I just have this weird feeling that something bad is about to happen there.
I don't want to be pessimistic that's why I'm trying to keep it to myself. Maybe I'm just nervous? There's no use of causing fear to my parsen.
"You alright?" he asked. I looked at him sadly.
"I'm nervous again," I answered honestly. He gave me a comforting smile.
"Please don't be. You know I'll always protect you no matter what, right?" he whispers. He caressed my face and smiled. I closed my eyes when he planted a soft kiss on my forehead.
"But when will we leave?" I asked him. He pulled himself away from me and sat on the bed.
"From what I know, it would be tomorrow but I'm not sure. Dragonia kingdom's Batailen usually starts a day after Speria kingdom. Dragonia's always the last to celebrate," he answers blankly. My forehead creased, Always the last to celebrate?
"Why?" I asked. I walked closer to him and sat on the bed.
He shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not really sure but it's thing on Vortaxia. The one's ahead everyone gets to celebrate the last. It's a humble move, I guess?" he said with a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
I watched him retie the bandage on his arm. My heart clenched. It must have hurt so bad. He was trying to control the shapeshifting couple so bad that he had broken some of his bones.
"Does it hurt?" I asked him worriedly. He chuckled and shook his head
"Of course, it does. But it illl go away eventually espeacially if you give me a sweet treat tonight," he says naughtily and bite his lower lip. I rolled my eyes,
"Shut up," I slurred.
