I nodded my head, "Pretty much so."
"Hmm...Interesting." Iris stated. "I remember clearly a month ago you said Sex wasn't important.
I shrugged. "Yea, I did that say but I didn't say I didn't need it,"
"Hmm..." Iris muttered.
I rolled my eyes, "Iris, please don't. You were the one who was telling how handsome and sexy Seth is."
Brandon turned to look at his girlfriend with his brows raised.
I laughed, and Iris rolled her eyes. "It's not a lie and you know I love you, only you."
Seth started to laugh, hard.
"He's my cousin, Iris."
Iris nodded at Brandon, "Exactly not a random guy."
Brandon shook his head. "I love a crazy person."
"Awwweee..." I can't believe that came from my mouth.
Seth laughed. "You guys are cute."
"We've always been cute, you are the ones who are cute. I see the way you look at each other."
I raised my brows at her.
What way did we look at each other?
"I look at him just like I'd look at you. Same eyes."
Brandon laughed, shaking his head in the process.
"No, you fool, you look at him with googly eyes."
I laughed and turn to Seth, "Do I look at you with googly eyes?
"I don't know. Do I look at you with googly eyes?"
"Well everyone looks at me with googly eyes, so you wouldn't be the first," I said trying to sound cocky.
"Egoist much?" Brandon muttered.
I grinned, "Yup, learnt from the best." I said pointing at Iris.
Iris rolled her eyes.
I looked around the dark room, it wasn't as busy as other Saturdays, but it wasn't too late either.
The air was good, and I felt good. I was hiding the fact that I'm sleeping with Seth.
I hadn't once thought about the case that we were on the opposite team for. We said we'd keep our relationship strictly private. No mater what work shouldn't be mentioned.
So far everything was okay.
Seth was great, and I loved spending my free time with him.
I felt a tap on my shoulder, so I turn and say Seth's green eyes staring at me, "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing really, just how good I feel."
He smiled, "That's good. I'm happy you're happy."
I smile, "You make me happy."
Did those words really come from my mouth?
Yes, they did, and I was happy about it. There was no need to lie to him.
He gave me a half smile, "You make me happy too."
Iris and Brandon who had drifted off in their own conversation were now looking at us. "See they're looking at each other googly."
Seth and I started to laugh but remained silent.
There was nothing to be said.
She was right.
Just looking at him gave me some sense of peace.
Was this what happens when you spend so much time with someone?
"Hey man, let's go over to the bar get some more drinks," Brandon shouted from behind Seth. Seth nodded and started to pull away from me with a little smile on his face. I returned it. Soon enough both men were walking back up the bar.
I look down at half glass of liquor and Seth's full one and frown. There was no need to go to the bar when we already had liquor.
I turn to Iris who was watching the men walk around.
She sighed when they were far away, "Thank god, if been wanting us to talk alone since we got here."
Oh, so this is her work.
She started to grin suddenly. "Someone's on love."
I raised by brows and frown, "Really who?"
"You, idiot. You think I don't see what going on between the two of you. You guys are in love with each other."
I shook my head denying her claim. I liked him. A lot but that doesn't mean I'm in love with.
"I'm not in love." I can't be in love.
"'You make me happy', that sounds like someone who is in love." Shit! Was she really listening to Seth and I's conversation all along? Brandon, they looked as if they were in a deep conversation, I guess not. They were just trying to hide the fact that they were spying us.
"Iris!"
"Karishma!" I frowned at my full name.
"I like him, and he does make me happy." It wasn't just happiness either, there was something else I couldn't explain.
"Couple months you said you were already happy, and you didn't need a man for that," I remembered that conversation as clear as the day we had it, but something was different. I was different. I had a rotten view of letting in a man in my life.
"He makes me happier than I was. He is a funny guy. Great cook too." He was great at so many other things too.
"He cooked for?"
I nod. "Yup. It was amazing."
"What did he cook?" she asked curiously.
"Mac and cheese." She rolled her eyes at my answer.
"Everyone can cook that even my fish."
I shook my head, "But that's not true, is it? The way he made it was..." I closed my eyes and savoured the memory. "It was beyond amazing."
"Hmm..." she muttered still not convinced. "Anyways, I thought we weren't ready for any sort of relationship."
"I'm not in a relationship."
"You guys are having sex that a relationship as much as neither of you want to admit it."
"We're friends." Good friends.
There was something about Seth that made him such a good friend. He was caring and kind and somewhere along the way I found myself telling him everything, there isn't one thing in my life that he didn't know about.
