Mira's expression was grave as she carefully closed the door of the medical room, ensuring no one was eavesdropping: "The opposite of laurel, a dark substance that can distort the power of laurel. My spirit guide just witnessed Karen and Irene performing some kind of ritual with it."
Lyra felt a chill: "They plan to use it against us during the Moon Shadow Valley trial."
"Not just that," Mira lowered her voice, "they used your blood and hair, which means they can directly interfere with your soul connection."
A flash of anger appeared in Rayne's eyes: "We must find that stone and destroy it."
"It's not that simple," Mira shook her head, "the Dark Moon Stone can only be purified by the power of laurel. And Karen has already hidden it in a place only he knows."
Lyra pondered for a moment: "Then we need a plan. If we cannot destroy the Dark Moon Stone, we must find a way to counter it."
Mira took out a small bottle from her pocket, containing a silver liquid: "This is Silver Fern essence, which can resist the influence of the Dark Moon Stone to some extent. But its power is limited."
Lyra took the small bottle, feeling the warmth transmitted to her palm: "Thank you, Mira. Without you, we might have already fallen into Karen's trap."
"I owe you," Mira smiled bitterly, "I couldn't save you in my previous life. This time, I won't stand by and do nothing."
Rayne suddenly raised his head alertly: "Someone's coming."
Mira quickly shifted the conversation to ordinary medical topics. The door was pushed open, and Karen stood in the doorway with a fake smile on her face: "Excuse me, I heard Lyra was feeling unwell?"
"Just a slight headache," Lyra answered calmly, secretly sliding the small bottle into her sleeve, "Mira has already given me medicine."
Karen's gaze shifted between the three of them: "That's good. By the way, the council has just confirmed the date for the Moon Shadow Valley trial. On the night of the full moon two weeks from now, everyone must attend."
He gave Lyra a meaningful look: "Especially you, the new Luna. This is your chance to prove yourself to everyone."
Lyra looked him straight in the eyes: "I'm looking forward to that day, Karen. Very much looking forward to it."
After Karen left, the three exchanged a glance. The countdown to the trial had begun, and they must find a path to survival under the shadow of the Dark Moon Stone.
