Chapter 31: Strictly sex

"Drake!" An older waitress with slightly graying hair beamed the moment we stepped inside.

I know he said he liked to come here, but I didn't realize it was often enough to clearly become a regular. Regardless, it made me smile and my heart warmed for him again. Damn it!

"Hey Deb," Drake greeted. "Got my favorite table open?"

She laughed and waved her hand at him dismissively. "Boy, when has your table ever been occupied at this hour? Go take a seat sugars and I'll bring you some menus."

Drake chuckled before he gently nudged me toward the back of the restaurant. We took a seat at the very back in the booth what was cool about it was that there was only one bench seat at the table. I slid in first and then Drake slid in next to me, my nerves began to betray me when I realized how close he sat to me.

Deb came back with the menus and two glasses of water, setting them down before she smiled at us.

"It's good to see you, Drake. You were away for longer than I would have liked to see, but  I'm glad to see you now", Deb smiled warmly at me. "And you've brought a beautiful young lady with you. That's a new addition",

"Yeah, yeah." Drake laughed, "I have been busy but don't you think for one moment that I haven't missed ya, Deb."

She snorted and waved him off again. "Always the charmer. I'll be back love birds." Then she turned and sauntered off.

Her sweet presence and the way she spoke to Drake made me wonder just how much they knew each other. He came here often and I couldn't help but smile at the fact that she seemed to adore him as if he were her own son. I want to get to know more about Drake, not as a porn star but that also terrified me. If I got to know him, would I ever want to let him go?

"Everything from this side of the menu is to die for," Drake stated as he pointed at the left page, I'm still working through the items on the other side."

"I'll take that into consideration," I laughed, "what's your recommendation then?"

He thought about it before he pointed at the page and I swear I could kiss him right now. He pointed out the very meal that I was craving the moment we went inside: Breakfast.

"Good choice," I stated.

Deb came back over with a smile on her face and asked if we were ready. We gave her our order and right before she turned and walked away, Drake asked her a question that gave me so many more of my own.

"How's Dakota working out for ya?"

Deb's smile fell as she looked around and then stared into his eyes. "Dakota hasn't been to work all week, Drake. I was going to call you but she asked me not to."

Who the hell is Dakota? And why does Deb look so sad? Drake' fists seemed to ball up and his jaw tightened. He was angry.

"No, you're good, Deb. I'll take care of it." His voice hissed out the last part and now I couldn't hold myself back from asking about it.

"Who's Dakota?"

His hard glare turned to me, making me shift in my seat, but then his eyes softened.

"Dakota is my sister," He growled out, "and she's in big fucking trouble."

I'd hate to be his sister right now if he was this angry with her. I don't know what's going on or why he's so upset but I also felt like it was none of my business further than this tiny conversation. I didn't ask any more questions, knowing I was getting too close. I had a sister too and she was a giant screw up. We haven't been close in years and the last I heard, she was dating some biker in Las Vegas. But that was too years ago.

Drake seemed to be extremely wound up and I felt bad that he was pissed. I didn't want to sit through dinner with this much tension and knew what I had to do.

Sliding closer to him, I placed my hand on his arm and leaned into his ear. Very softly, I brushed my lips across his neck just below his ear before whispering, "I'd like to have you for dessert."

I know it was dirty to play his emotions like this but I didn't know how else to break him from his obvious anger. And this just goes to show that I really don't know a thing about him. Perhaps we should keep it strictly sexual.

But when he turned his sharp, hooded eyes to me, I nearly creamed in my panties. It was the sexiest glare I had ever seen a man give before and I wouldn't mind if he looked at me like this more often.

"Hey, Deb!" Drake shouted, making me jump and then giggle.

She was back in a flash and I began to giggle even more.

"Change of plans. Can you pack our food up to go? Oh, and throw in a can of whipped cream while you're at it."

Her cheeks blushed which in turn, made me blush. Drake didn't seem to be embarrassed one bit, sliding a small stack of twenties toward Deb.

"You got it," Deb said, turning on her heel before disappearing into the kitchen.

"Oh my God, i can't believe you just said that to her!" I could still feel my cheeks heating up and I wanted to melt into this seat.

He chuckled, biting his bottom lip as he looked over at me. "Deb, knows what I..."He paused, looking surprised that he was about to say something that I guess I wasn't privy to know? That was strange.

The bell above the door chimed and pulled our attention away from one another. Three men who were clearly drunk after a night out all piled into the dinner, laughing and being incredibly loud. Just seeing them being ridiculous and one, in particular, made me think about Jason. My jaw clenched and fear tried to rear its ugly head. I knew it wasn't actually Jason but the man sure did resemble him. Throw in the fact that he's shit faced with a couple of buddies and they could be brothers.
