Chapter 29: So sweet

Drake: I'm sorry, ignore that.
Her reply came just as I pressed send.
Lynn: you wouldn't mind? I'm exhausted and Luis doesn't seem to want to leave just yet.
Shit. She actually wants me to come and get her. Perhaps we're still playing this game. Well, don't mind if I fucking do.
Drake: send me the address. Grabbing my keys now.
I had never jumped up from my couch as fast as I just had in my life. Excitement was coursing through my veins and even though I was literally just picking her up to bring her home, it didn't matter, I still get to see her.
My phone dinged the moment my feet slid into my shoes and my hand was on the front door. She sent me the address and I knew exactly where that neighborhood was. It was one of the rich, posh ones that some of my directors had places and I was very familiar. I don't know who her boss is but he must be loaded.
Stepping into my garage, I looked between my new Harley and my slick back Audi and debated which one to take. I'd love to have Lynn ride on the back of my bike, holding tightly against me while her tits pressed into my back, but tonight was not the night for that. The Audi it is.
Traffic was light at this time of night and I was glad to find myself in the neighborhood within twenty minutes. Expensive cars lined the street and driveway of the address given to me. Mixer might just be the right word for this posh neighborhood party and I understood why Lynn was bored to tears. I've been to many of these kind of parties and they were fucking horrible. It was nothing but a bunch of rich assholes trying to show off who had more money. Lynn didn't peg me as the type of girl who gave a shit about bank account balances and I liked that about her. She was completely different from all the women I'd been around up until this point.
I stayed in the car wondering if I should text her or walk in to get her. Feeling mischievous and a bit curious who she worked for, I chose to get out. And once I reached the front door, I wondered if this was a bad idea. Maybe she didn't want to introduce me to people or tell people about me. I'm kind of forcing myself into her life right now, aren't I?
Fuck it. I'm knocking.
Several seconds later, the door opened and a double bag in khaki pants and a pole around my age answered but as soon as he saw me, his grin flattened to a scowl as he eyed me up and down.
"Can I help you?"
"Yeah, I'm here to pick up Lynn."
Confusion furrowed his brow and it was clear that he had no idea who I was talking about.
"She's here with Luis. This is their boss's house?" I stated.
Surprise replaced his confusion as he eyed me up again.
"No, shit?", Lynn is dating a guy like you? Well, shit, come on in!" He held the door wide open for me and I entered.
I felt completely out of place among these snobby looking people. Most of the men glared at me with trepidation while their wives and girlfriends undressed me with their eyes. It was a common reaction when I entered a room and I've grown numb to it.
My eyes immediately searched for Lynn and that's when I found her standing all alone with her nose in her phone. A small smirk lifted my lips as I wondered if she were watching her phone for a message from me. And then an idea struck me.
Drake: your ass looks amazing in those jeans.
When I pressed send, I stared at her from across the room and waited for her reaction. And it was perfect. Her cheeks blushed and she smiled, typing away on her phone but then realisation must have hit her and her searching eyes frantically looked around the party until she landed on me.
I gave her a smirk and a wink, waiting for her to come to me. And then her feet were moving and she was coming right toward me. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her and the closer she got to me, the more my hands itched to touch her. It was going to be really difficult to be around her if our arrangement was off the table.
"Hey, I didn't expect you to come inside, ya know." She greeted.
I shrugged. "I know, but I was too curious."
She laughed, shaking her head. "Curious about what? That this party actually does suck?
"Something like that," I lied. I couldn't actually tell her that I wanted to spy on who her boss was or what kind of competition I might have.
"Well, here it is," she said while waving her hand around, boring." Can we go now?"
"Drake?"
I grinned and turned toward the familiar voice. Luis was walking toward us with a guy that was around our age and actually pretty damn handsome. Please don't be her boss. Please don't be her boss.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, looking at me confused.
"I came to take Lynn home. She told me she was exhausted and I was in the area," I lied again.
"Awe, that was sweet of you. Not just a booty call but a taxi, too? I need to find a man like you!", Luis joked, turning to the guy next to him. "This is our boss Noah."
Fuck, there it was. Did I manifest that with my thoughts or what?
"Noah, this is Drake. Lynn's....." He paused, clearly contemplating how to title our arrangement.
