Chapter 10

A year later, Gwyneth jumped into running her own business. She set up her business near the Payne residence to stay clear of Asher.
With Kieran's support, her furniture business took off and flourished. Six months later, she was considering opening a second factory.
Kieran found her a plot of land. The price was reasonable, and since there weren't any big furniture factories in the area, it was perfect for her. The land, however, was located in Laverston.

Upon hearing this, Gwyneth started thinking about returning to Laverston to set up her second factory.
After talking it over with Kieran, she said goodbye to Franklin and Greta that evening and headed back to Laverston with her suitcase.
When Yvette found out Gwyneth was back, she eagerly invited her to lunch. "I've been missing you so much. You're finally back! You have no idea, but Asher's been asking about you constantly for the last two years."
Hearing Asher's name left Gwyneth in a daze. She'd sent him divorce agreements countless times and had her lawyers try to get him to sign, but he refused every time.
Ever since she started her business, she'd used the name Blythe Payne, a name that marked her freedom and the happiness she'd found after her unhappy marriage.
So, when Asher heard about a business whiz from Jarleston earlier this year, he had no idea it was actually Gwyneth going by the name Blythe.

"I didn't tell him where you are. I'm not dealing with a cheater like him," Yvette muttered.
They talked for hours, and it wasn't until that evening that Gwyneth finally returned to Kieran's Laverston villa.
By the time the sun set, dinner was done, and Kieran brought out a cake. Under the dim, yellow light, his eyes seemed deep and gentle. "Happy birthday, Wyn."
"Thanks, Kie." Gwyneth started to tear up. She was moved beyond words. She had no idea how she would have gotten by without his help and support over the last two years.

"Since you're back, I'm throwing a party to introduce you to everyone tomorrow."
"Okay," Gwyneth agreed.
The Lauders were well-known overseas, and in the past two years, they'd also been doing really well in Laverston. Kieran's backing made things much easier for Gwyneth.

Meanwhile, Liana went berserk again at Asher's office door. Asher had the security guard kick her out on the spot.
"Playing the loving, devoted guy now, huh? Do you really think Gwyneth cares about you? You two will never get back together! She's trash! She deserves to lose that baby!" Liana shouted sarcastically before they threw her out.
Asher's face hardened with anger. He closed the office door without a word. He sat back down, his eyes on the birthday cake on his desk that read, "Happy Birthday, Wyn".
He absentmindedly ran his fingers over the bracelet he'd carefully picked out a month ago, his eyes dull. It was only after Liana's miscarriage that he finally realized Gwyneth was the one for him.
Asher had been searching for Gwyneth over the past two years, but it felt like something was standing in his way, and he hadn't heard a thing about her.
He thought he'd eventually get used to her being gone, but everything in his life and work fell apart after she left. It took him that long to realize that she had been with him for 12 years, and he had grown so dependent on her for many things.
Asher couldn't function without her. No one—not even Liana—could take Gwyneth's place. He loved her more than he'd ever imagined.
Milena knocked before entering. "The Lauders are hosting a party tomorrow evening. Kieran plans to announce that his close friend, Blythe Payne, is about to open a furniture factory in Laverston.
"He wants to take this chance to introduce Blythe to everyone. Mr. Crowe, will you be attending tomorrow evening?"
