BANG! BANG! BANG!
The knock shattered the moment like a grenade in silence.
Lucas’s entire body jerked, eyes snapping open, muscles tensing. Zee froze, still on her knees, lips wrapped around him—eyes wide like a caught storm.

He exhaled sharply. “Fuck…”
His hands shook as he pulled away from her mouth, guilt and need warring in his expression. He zipped up in haste, barely able to think straight.
Still dazed, he ran a hand through his hair. “That was…”
Another knock. Urgent. Louder.
“Lucas!” Ben’s voice yelled from behind the door.
Lucas blinked hard, dragging air into his lungs. “Shit.”

Then the door creaked open—Ben stepped in.
Lucas tensed, his back to him.
Ben’s eyes flicked between Lucas and Zee—still on the floor, breath shaky, lips pink and puffy. His brows furrowed. “Uh… why do you two look so flushed?”
Lucas turned around, face flushed. “Hot in here.”

His voice cracked slightly, too casual to be convincing.
Ben’s eyes narrowed on Zee. “Zee… are you okay? You’re breathing heavy. And your lips—are they… swollen? Did you get hurt?”
Lucas nearly choked, his gaze darting to her.
Zee glanced down, cheeks red. “Y-Yeah. I… bit my lip by mistake.”
Ben tilted his head. “Really?”
She nodded quickly, licking her lips. “Doesn’t hurt much.”
Lucas's jaw clenched as he watched her tongue glide across her lips. The memory hit hard—her mouth, her sound, her heat. He exhaled quietly, eyes darkening.
“Uh huh,” Ben murmured, still skeptical but unwilling to push.
Zee straightened up, wobbling slightly. “I—I should go see Sam now…”
Lucas stiffened again at the name. Sam. The one who wasn’t him.
“Right,” he muttered, voice low, clipped.
She tried to stand—but her legs buckled. She dropped right back onto the floor with a soft gasp.
Lucas rushed forward. “Whoa—are you okay?”
Zee covered her face with both hands, giggling nervously. “I—I can’t stand.”
His lips twitched despite himself. “Damn. You really are flushed.”
He reached out, his hand slipping into hers, gripping firm, steady. He pulled her up slowly, his other hand ghosting over her waist.
“Thanks,” she whispered.
She leaned close, voice barely a breath. “This is all your fault… now I can’t walk ,I will just have to text Sam that I can't come.
Lucas smirked, voice just as low. “I know.”
Ben cleared his throat.
Lucas jumped slightly, snapping back to reality. He quickly dropped her hand, stepping back. “Right…”
Zee turned to Ben, trying to change the subject. “So… how’s Alex?”
Ben smiled lightly. “He’s good. Think he’s enjoying the camp.”
“That’s sweet. I’m happy for you guys, really.”
Lucas stayed quiet, arms crossed—jaw tight. The thought of her lips on him while talking about someone else’s happiness burned through his chest.
“Wait,” Zee said, suddenly perking up. “Did you guys hear? We’ve got a physical exercise thing tomorrow. I read the team camp board.”
Ben’s face shifted—serious again. “Yeah, fitness tests. Early morning.”
She groaned. “Ugh. I hate exercise.”
Ben chuckled. “It’s important though. Builds discipline.”
She smirked. “I bet you and Lucas work out all the time. Your abs? On fire.”
Lucas and Ben both laughed, but only one of them was secretly imagining her tracing those abs with her tongue.
“You think so, huh?” Lucas asked, voice heavy with playful danger.
Zee nodded, fanning her face dramatically. “Too hot to handle.”
She yawned suddenly, rubbing her eyes. “Mmm. I’m done for tonight. I’m hitting the bed.”
She turned to Lucas, lips curling. “Baby… wake me up tomorrow, will you?”
Lucas stepped forward, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Always.”
“Night, Ben,” she added with a sleepy smile.
Ben smiled back. “Night, Zee.”
Lucas watched her walk away—limping slightly, still wobbly, still beautiful—and something deep in his chest twisted with pride… and possession.
When the door closed behind her, Ben turned slowly to Lucas.
Ben: “You’re so obvious, dude.”
Lucas smirked, licking his lips. “You have no idea.”
