Chapter 4

The cafeteria was buzzing. Plastic trays clattered, voices overlapped—but at one table, things were... different.
Zee sat between Lucas and Ben, both still processing what just happened.
Lucas tried (and failed) to keep his eyes where they belonged.

Zee leaned in with a smirk. “Lucas, your eyes are doing that thing again.”
Lucas stammered, red-faced. “I–I wasn’t staring!”
Ben burst into laughter. “Dude, just admit it. You’re hypnotized.”
Zee giggled. “It’s okay, you’re cute when you blush.”
Lucas turned even redder.
Zee shifted her gaze to Ben. “Now, your turn.”

Ben blinked. “Huh?”
“I saw you,” Zee teased. “Staring at that guy sitting alone. The one with the glasses.”
Ben froze.
Lucas raised a brow. “You got a little crush, Ben?”

Zee grinned. “Let’s go say hi. Pretty please?”
Ben sighed but didn’t protest.
They walked over to the quiet table.
“Hi,” Zee said, her voice warm.
The guy looked up, startled. “Uh… hey.”
“I’m Zee, this is Ben and Lucas.”
“I’m Alex,” he replied, offering a small smile.
Zee beamed. “Can we sit?”
Alex nodded. “Sure.”
Ben (suspiciously) ended up right beside him.
Zee leaned forward. “We noticed you were alone.”
Alex shrugged. “Not into the whole A-Group drama.”
Zee smiled. “Good. That makes you our kind of person.”
Ben’s ears were pink now.
“Ben’s excited,” Zee added with a wink.
Ben groaned. “Zee…”
Alex chuckled. “Something I should know?”
Zee smirked. “Not yet. But give it time.”
They finished their meals, laughter soft and sweet.
As they stood to leave, Zee nudged Lucas. “We have somewhere to be, right?”
Lucas caught on. “Oh—yeah. Definitely.”
Ben blinked. “Wait—what? Don’t leave me—”
But Zee and Lucas were already walking away.
Zee whispered, “Just giving them room to bond… like how your eyes are bonding with my boobs.”
Lucas choked. “I-I wasn’t—!”
Zee winked. “You were.”
Lucas just groaned, cheeks on fire.
Zee tossed her braids back and smiled to herself.
Everything was falling into place.
