Vivian stood rooted, taking a long moment to recover.
"Evan! What nonsense are you spouting?! When were we ever together?!"
Vivian spat, her face flushed with anger and humiliation.

She never acknowledged our relationship. Just like now.
"Good to hear you say that. Since there's nothing between us, I', going now. Enjoy the party."
With that, I turned to leave. But she, as if possessed, grabbed the box and threw it at me.
When I dodged, she charged, hand raised to slap me.
But her wrist met my firm grip.
"Ms. Shaw, your way of flirting with men is certainly bold and unique!" I shoved her away.

She staggered back a few steps before steadying herself, glaring at me furiously..
"Evan, do you have any idea what you're saying?!"
I was amused
"Ms. Shaw, did I misspeak? You like playing with young boys, don't you? Isn't that common knowledge?"

The me who was once so gentle and considerate towards her was now hurling insults. Everyone was shocked.
Once they recovered, they all started yelling at me, defending Vivian.
Just then, the star of today's birthday party walked in.
Seeing the chaotic scene,Leo looked completely bewildered.
Seeing him appear, I chuckled and walked over, clapping him on the shoulder.
"Congratulations. You scored some trash."
I left those words hanging as I strode out.
The insults that followed?
Not my problem.
The next few weeks, I focused on my life.
Vivian seemed to vanish from my world.
Though Leo's social media updates popped up occasionally.
At first, they were happy and sweet. But after a few days, those updates stopped too..
After some thought, I sent Vivian a final breakup text.
She didn't reply.
It didn't matter anymore.
I'd given myself an ending.
That was enough.
