Silence. My words hit home.
I pushed harder. "He cheated with you. Who else at the hospital? Check his texts. Find the pet names."
Amanda’s voice wavered. "Really?"

"Trust a man’s gut."
She hung up.
My burner phone buzzed. Police: Location traced. An apartment.
I forwarded it to Evelyn.
Her reply: "On it."
If Noah was hurt, she’d need to operate instantly.

I sped towards the address. Police already had Harrison and Amanda cuffed.
Evelyn carried Noah to me.
"Minor sedative. He’s okay. Full check-up later," she assured me.
As I turned to leave, Amanda screamed.

"Ethan! Please! Help me!"
She sobbed. "You were right! He had others! Seven! Eight!"
"I don’t want prison! Ethan! For Noah’s sake!"
I kept walking.
Harrison’s crimes unraveled. Conspiring to steal organs. Bumping his daughter ahead on the transplant list. The 30-year-old’s kidney was meant for someone else.
Worse: His wife’s "accident" wasn’t.
Harrison resented her for being a stay-at-home mom who questioned his affairs.
Amanda hated her for not divorcing him.
They plotted her death.
The charges piled up. Murder. Conspiracy. Organ trafficking.
Amanda Wilson and Dr. Harrison Sterling: Death Sentence.
Five Years Later
Evelyn and I married.
Noah stood tall beside us at ten.
Dressed in white angel wings, holding tiny bow and arrow (his choice: Cupid).
He presented the rings.
The End.
