My sister-in-law Emily was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but she still had a huge sweet tooth and couldn't keep her hands off cakes and desserts every day.
As a nutritionist, I advised her to control her diet and had to prepared different low-sugar nutritious meals for her every day.
Three months later, she gave birth to a healthy baby weighing 6 pounds and 6 ounces. However, the woman in the next bed gave birth to a giant baby weighing 12 pounds.

Emily was extremely envious. She blamed everything on me, saying that if it weren't for the low-sugar meals I made for her, which she claimed were without nutrition, her baby wouldn't be so small and thin.
Later, wtihout my noticing, she secretly put peanut powder in my milk, causing me to suffocate to death.
After my death, my mother lied to the police, claiming that it was an accident.
At my funeral, she shed crocodile tears, saying, "My child, don't blame me. I can't let my grandson be without a mother as soon as he's born."
When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the time when Emily was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
...

I returned to the day when Emily was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
As she came out of the consulting room, she was complaining to my mother indignantly, "That unscrupulous doctor says I have diabetes and that I need to be on a restricted diet. I don't believe her. What if my baby gets hungry?"
My mother agreed with her, "You're right. We can't trust what the doctor says. Doctors just want to make money. Everyone knows that it's a blessing for a pregnant woman to have a good appetite. You mustn't let my precious grandson go hungry. Here are these special dainties for you. Have it as much as you can."
As she spoke, my mother stuffed the freshly bought cream cake and the chocolate with a thick layer of honey into Emily's mouth.

Just then, a young nurse saw Emily, whose mouth was full with food, reminded her.
"Didn't the doctor just say you need to control your diet?Your blood sugar is already seriously exceeding the standard. You can't eat these sweet foods anymore."
Emily gave her a fierce glare.
"What do you know? That doctor just wants to cheat money. The more I eat now, the more nutritious my child will be, and I can give birth to a big, healthy baby."
Looking at the nurse's confused expression, she turned to me.
"Fiona, you're a professional nutritionist. Tell her whether I need to be on a restricted diet or not.?"
In my previous life, she had asked me the same question.
At that time, out of concern for her and the baby's health,I stubbornly told her the truth.
If a pregnant woman with gestational diabetes doesn't pay attention to her diet, it's very easy to cause complications, potentially causing fetal deformities, and in severe cases, it could result in a macrosomic baby, making the childbirth process extremely dangerous and even risking the lives of both mother and child.
I had come across a malformed fetus born due to the mother's gestational diabetes. The child was born with congenital heart disease and couldn’t be saved despite the huge medical expenses.
I even specially showed her many such cases.
At that time, Emily was scared by my words. With the persuasion of our faimily, she finally agreed to control her diet.
Concerned of her health, I also volunteered to make healthy meals for her every day.
Three months later, my little nephew was born safely, weighing 6 pounds and 6 ounces. The doctor examined him and said he was very healthy. However, another woman in the same ward as Emily, who didn't control her diet due to gestational diabetes, gave birth to a 12-pound macrosomic baby.
Emily was extremely envious. She thought that if I hadn't stopped her from eating more food, she could also have given birth to such a big baby, not like this one which was so small and thin.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Whenever her little son was a bit unwell, she blamed it on my insistence on her restricted diet, and that was why her son didn't have a strong constitution.
Finally, she couldn't stand it anymore. When I wasn't on guard, she poured peanut powder into the milk I was about to drink.
It caused me a severe allergic reaction and collapsed on the floor, gasping for breath..
I clutched Emily's clothes and begged her to save me, but she kicked me in the chest, scolding, "It's all your fault that my child is so small. You should have died a long time ago."
