Suddenly, a gentle-looking man rushes in. It was Brian Smith.
He's my colleague and has been pursuing me recently. I was touched and was just about to agree to be with him.
Brian helps me up and asks with concern: "Mandy, you ok? Are you hurt?"
Michael can tell at a glance that Brian likes me.
"Bro, I advise you to stay away from this slut."
"She's been fooling around with different men since she was a teenager and has had several abortions. Last year, she was beaten nearly to death by the wife of the man she was having an affair with. Once you get involved with a woman like this, you'll been ruined."
Brian shakes his head: "Mandy isn't that kind of person. I've been pursuing her for a long time, and she hasn't agreed to be with me." Michael sneers: "She's stringing you along. The longer she lies to you, the more you'll infatuated with her."
"My wife grew up with her since childhood. They're best friends, and my wife knows everything about her. A woman like her is so dirty that everyone would detest her. I advise you to keep away from her."
Brian looks at me as if he has just realized something, his eyes showing disappointment. He withdraws his hand that was supporting me.
"Mandy, forget about what I said before. Let's just continue being colleagues."
I watches his back as he turns and leaves, and my heart instantly turns cold.
His so-called love is actually so shallow and vulnerable.
But I don't have time to be sad. Michael drags me into the room and rummages through everything. He find a jade pendant in the drawer.
I'm so nervous that I try to grab it back.
"Don't you touch my jade pendant!"
I failed to grab it. Michael raises his hand, and I can't reach it no matter how hard I try.
I'm almost crying. This is a jade pendant left to me by my mother: "Don't touch it. Give it back to me!"
My mother passed away a few years ago, and this was the only thing she left me.
Seeing how much I care about it, Michael speaks harshly: "If you don't tell me where Emily is, I'll smash this jade pendant."
Just when I'm extremely anxious, Emily sends me a message.
"Mandy, my husband isn't giving you a hard time, is he? Don't worry, I'll listen to you and won't let him find me."
Michael snatches the phone from me.
After seeing the message,he flew into a rage and smashed the jade pendant hard on the ground.
"Amanda Rose, you said you didn't hide my wife!"
Seeing the jade pendant broken into several pieces, my heart aches as if it were being stabbed.
I stare at Michael with red eyes. This fool is being played around by Emily and doesn't even know it!
But I have to calm myself down: "Michael, Emily isn't what you think she is at all. She's keeping a man outside behind your back..."
Before I finish my words, Michael chokes my neck again: "Amanda Rose, you really wanna die, huh?!"
My face turns red from lack of oxygen, and I struggle to speak: "Michael, if you come with me to a place now, you'll know that everything I said is true!"
Michael stares at me viciously and hesitates for a few seconds before saying: "If I don't see Emily, I'll take your life!"
Half an hour later, I take Michael to a residential area.
This is the house that Emily bought for having an affair with her gigolo. The money was all taken from Michael.
I ring the doorbell, and soon someone opens the door.
When the door is opened, Emily's expression changes slightly when she sees me and Michael. Then she forces a smile.
"Honey, Mandy, why are you here?"
Michael bypasses her and enters directly, and I follow behind him.
When the influencer saw that we were leaving, she also followed. She didn't forget to say to the camera: "Guys, send more gifts. I'll keep the live broadcast going for more drama."
Michael first goes to the master bedroom, then to the next room, and the kitchen.
Emily asks: "Honey, what are you looking for? I'm the only one here."
Michael searches everywhere but doesn't find another man.
He turns around and glares at me.
I frown.
Where did the man go?
Then I remember that the live broadcast has caused a big stir, and Emily usually like to gossip. She must saw the live broadcast and was afraid of being discovered, so she let the gigolo leave.
Emily looks at me, and tears stream down her face.
"Mandy, I know you've always had a crush on Michael. If you really want to be with him, I can step aside and let you two be together."
Looking at the seemingly poor Emily, I sneer.
She is really good at pretending, playing the victim to win sympathy.
Michael glances at me and says in disgust: "Emily, what are you talking about? How could I possibly fall for a woman like her, a woman who sleeps around with anyone?"
I roll my eyes at Michael.
But this isn't the time to care about these matters. I look at Emily and ask: "Why did you secretly buy this house without telling your husband?"
I'm sure that Michael doesn't know that Emily has bought this house.
Emily looks at Michael and says in a pitiful voice.
"Honey, you know I've always been insecure. Besides, Mandy said she likes you and wants to marry you, and she asked me to divorce you. I was afraid that one day you would leave me, and I would have nowhere to go, so I saved up money and bought this house.
Emily is very good at pretending to be innocent and naive, making Michael feel sorry for her and believing everything she said.
Hearing this, Michael is furious. He turns around and slaps me.
"Amanda Rose, who do you think you are? A woman as dirty as you all over. I feel disgusted just looking at you. If you dare to bully Emily again, try it!"
I grit my teeth in anger. Just as I'm about to speak, I see a man's T-shirt in the corner of the sofa. It must have been left behind by the gigolo that Emily kept.
Ha!
Emily, let's see how you're going to explain this time!
