Lily called me and her voice roaring with fury:“What did you do to Adam?He collapsed on the trail days ago and still hasn’t woken…”
I wasn’t surprised.I knew Adam couldn’t arrive the top of the mountain.
I visited him in the hospital.

Coincidentally,he’d just woken.
When I knew he hadn’t died,I felt oddly disappointed.
I started to leave, but Lily spotted me.
Fully recovered,she was vibrant.
“You have the nerve to show up!Nora,He has become like this all because of your behavior.
You’re just a clone,just clone of me…”

I narrowed my eyes,advancing.
She retreated,unnerved.
I said with deliberate tone:“Clone? You look down on clones, but your eyes are mine, your blood is mine.If you despise it,give it back.”
Lily glared at me and no words.

Adam cut her off, cold:“Lily, shut up.You’ve no right to talk about Nora.”
“Nora’s not a clone.She’s my future wife,your sister-in-law.Show respect.”
His gaze softened on me.
“Nora, are you mad about the blood and eyes?If you want,I’ll have Lily return them—she’s fine now…”
Lily stared and don’t believe his words.
He looked at me affectionately and thought that his words had moved me.
“Nora,I didn’t reach the top because of heatstroke, not lack of sincerity. When I’m better,I’ll climb again to prove it…”
I met his eyes, piercing:“Adam, stop pretending. You always knew Lily was faking, right?”
Both froze,Adam’s face twisting with panic.
I continued:“You played ignorant for your twisted, secret thrill. You wanted both of us,couldn’t let either go.Two identical women—Aren't you feeling anxious about this?”
I’d been reflecting on overlooked details.
As Lily’s doctor and dean, how could Adam miss her deception?
He went along, transfusing my blood to her.
All the problems stem from his selfishness and sentimentality.
Lily was his childhood friend, yet he called her“sister”fondly,as if they were blood.
My words tore their facade.
One faked illness, one faked ignorance—a perfect pair.
Adam panicked, knowing I saw through him.
He lunged to stop me and forgetten his weakness.
Lily,pained,tried to help him.
He shoved her away:“It’s your fault Nora left me.”
Her heart broke under his hateful gaze.
I had no time for their drama.
“I’ve no morals about you creating me.I’m not your possession.I have own thoughts—I’m not a doll to obey you.”
“You’ve taken plenty from me.I won’t pursue it.”
Then I said for Lily with tearful expression:“Looking like you wasn’t my choice. If it bothers you,get surgery.I couldn’t to do this.”
“Lastly,I’m no one’s shadow.I’m Nora Wells.”
I let out a breath and then left.
I’d said enough.I wanted no more of them.
I focused on myself, making up for lost time.
I earned a bachelor’s degree,learned coding,illustration,writing—enriching myself.
As my life climbed new heights,I heard of Adam and Lily again.
Adam had aplastic anemia, so he need constantly bleeding and transfusions.
Due to incompatible cloned blood, Lilywas barely clinging to life.
Even if Adam is the director for hospital, but he didn’t know clone blood wasn’t universally compatible.
Hearing this,I tended my garden’s moss flowers.
The spring breeze blew up my dress.
Moss flowers, small as rice, bloom proudly in the sun.
