Lucas took a deep breath,his eyes went red as he tried to hold back his tears.
I felt sick,I took a screenshot and continued watching.
A month later,Emma had people load wooden crates onto the ship.
She ordered careful handling.
The ship stopped at various cities,and Emma's people retrieved the crates.
The retrievers spoke a foreign language!
This continued to the present.
Lucas and I stared at each other, and we saw plain shock in each other’s eyes.
We blurted out together,
"She's smuggling!"
Lucas laughed.
"She's got guts."
His tone carried danger.
Yeah,smuggling?
James likely wasn't clueless—maintaining a cruise and searching for me every year would surely cost a fortune.
This was leverage!
Footsteps approached,with a man and woman arguing.
There was nowhere for us to hide in the control room.
I spotted a gap behind a cabinet.
Lucas and I squeezed in,our bodies were pressed tightly against each others.
His heat was intense;I could even feel the shape his muscles.
He chuckled,his hot breath tickling my ear.
I glared at him,focusing on the entering pair.
James,furious,said,
"Emma,I told you,no more smuggling!Claire's back—I don't need the money anymore!"
Hearing my name,Lucas nibbled my ear,whispering,
"Baby,you're so charming,making him ditch so much cash for you."
His words some how sent a strange shiver through my body that I nearly collapsed,but his arms kept me upright.
Emma's face covered in heavy makeup twisted with jealousy.
She screeched,
"James!I've been with you for years!You're still thinking about that bitch!You became bankrupted searching for her,and now you're giving up money for her!"
James stayed silent.
I held my breath,grabbing Lucas's wandering hand on my body.
Then I stomped his foot.
Lucas bit his lower lips hard, not daring to make any sound.
Emma now switched to a pitiful act and was pleading,
"James,just one last time.For the baby's sake,help me once more.Just dock at Delta City."
James paused,then nodded,gritting his teeth.
"Last time, I swear.After this,leave me and Claire alone!"
Delta City,a border hub near three countries.
If she smuggled this batch out,it'd be near impossible to recover.
After they left,I uploaded the evidence and called the police.
Lucas,jealous,dragged me back to our roomdemanding answers.
His heated kisses rained down on me.
Kissing,he growled,
"Baby,him or me?"
"Who you like more?"
I was breathless and overwhelmed with pleasure.
Suddenly there was a knock no the door.
No answer after one try,but it persisted.
Lucas cursed,opening it.
"Claire,let's get dinner..."
James stopped,stunned at the sight of a shirtless man.
"Who are you?Why're you in Claire's room?"
Oops,caught.
But with evidence in hand,I didn't need to play along anymore.
I landed a kiss on Lucas's cheek.
James's face reddened and he clenched his fist tight.
"Claire,he's forcing himself on you,right?"
He swung,but was no match for Lucas.
Lucas caught his fist,twisting until James knelt,sweating.
Lucas warned,
"Stop bothering my girlfriend."
James,incredulous,stammered,
"Claire,this is all fake,right?I'm your boyfriend!"
Leaning on Lucas,I toyed with my hair.
"Of course it's fake!Why would I love a man who betrayed me again?"
James opened his eyes wide, he frozelike he'd been struck by lightning.
Lucas carried me back inside,shutting the door behind him.
