Nathan is incredibly audacious, more so than anyone I've ever seen.
Without his interference, Lily would've grown up carefree, like a princess.
He keeps ranting."James, kneel and kowtow a hundred times, and I might spare you and your daughter."

Suddenly, Mr.and Mrs. Brooks drop to their knees. Tears stream down their faces as they kowtow to me.
"What a sin! Young man, our family has wronged you. We failed to raise our son right. We'll move out immediately."
Nathan was speechless. I don't tell them to get up.
I mimic Nathan's earlier tone and say, " See? You hurt me and Lily without a second thought, and now your parents are paying the price."
"Ambition's fine, but it should come from hard work, not taking shameless shortcuts. What others give you can be taken away at any time."
Nathan's face darkened.

I bet Emily didn't give him those cars and houses willingly. He's just bullying those less fortunate.
I press harder." Know why you can't have kids? Because you climbed over my blood and flesh. Your chance at heirs is gone. No child wants a homewrecker for a dad!"
Last time at his villa, I noticed Nathan brewing herbal medicine.
I worked at a TCM clinic—I knew it was for infertility.

His secret exposed, Nathan's face contorted with anger, and he lunged at me, trying to hit me.
Emily, who had been silent until now, steps between us and grabs his hands.
But that's it.
Nathan smirks, confident she's on his side.
She'd always sided with Nathan. I remembered the last time I'd made Nathan "rinse" his mouth in the toilet. Emily had pushed me away, and I'd hit my waist on the sink. I'd been in pain for five minutes while she took care of Nathan.
I watched her fuss over Nathan as they left.
Right or wrong, Emily always leaves me isolated.
My eyes dim.
I'm long past hope, but I wish she'd stand up for Lily just once.
"James, I've got him. Hit him until you're satisfied."
Her words shocked everyone.
Nathan's face stiffens.
"Em, what? You're helping him bully me?"
Emily sneers, twisting his arms.
"Bully? What you did to James and Lily was far worse. Beating you is letting you off easy."
I don't know why she's switched sides, but I don't hold back.
After ten slaps, Mr. Brooks kneels silently.
Mrs. Brooks tried to plead for Nathan, but Mr. Brooks stopped her.
"It's your fault, filling his head with ideas about chasing wealth. Think what he did to the man's family! He owes them. Adults face their consequences."
Nathan, wronged and trapped, eyes red, struggles.
His parents, his lover—none stand by him.
He'd been betrayed by everyone.
Soon, police arrived.
Knowing Nathan's tricks, I'd already filed a report.
I show the new deed.
Nathan, his eyes wide with shock, had to admit defeat.
I grab him."And the $8 million? You don't want me suing for fraud, do you?"
"Give me a few days.I'll figure it out."
He said, then left with his parents, looking defeated.
