He confirmed I was telling the truth.
After hearing the full story, his look at me with pity.
My dad’s wish went unfulfilled.
The cop pointed at my face and addressed my dad.
“Settle it together or not at all. He’s hurt too—this is mutual assault!”
“Sign for peace,or you both get seven days and a$500 fine.”
“You choose!”
My dad, clutching his forehead, stomped around, accusing the cop of shielding me,unfair.
But that was the deal.
His chance to play the loyal husband for his“daughter-in-law”fell through.
We signed and left the station.
The six of them, supporting Fiona, blocked my way.
My dad—no,Daniel White—glared viciously.
“Don’t think a biased cop makes you untouchable!”
“I’m warning you—apologize properly to Fiona and let her hit you back,or this isn’t over!”
Daniel spoke, and the six stepped forward, crowding me.
I stared blankly at the seven of them and took a step forward myself.
“Fine,come on,kill me.”
They froze,silent,jaws clenched.
I stayed expressionless.
“Scared,huh?”
“If you’re scared, just wait.I’ll ruin you all.”
“I keep my word!”
The company’s success wasn’t something I boasted about—my contribution outweighed Fiona’s.
That was a fact.
At my old job,my skills shone, and my salary soared.
That was one part.
More crucially,my role grew, connecting me with higher-tier clients and peers.
I didn’t just climb the ladder to reach them—I earned their respect.
Over time, those connections became my network.
At work, they cleared the way, speeding up our success.
After quitting to start the company,I kept those ties.
Through exchanges and mutual help, the company gained funds,a factory and orders.
By denying my contributions, calling me a kept man, saying I leeched off Fiona’s fortune—they were blind.
It was time for them to see the truth.
My health wasn’t fully recovered,but I stopped meds,stopped treatment.
I rented a new place, moved out,and started running to clients.
Before,I used to chase orders for our company and seal deals.
Now,I linked my supportive contacts with new partners, redirecting their orders.
Not a single deal that passed through me would reach our factory or company again!
I worked day and night for nearly two weeks.
The results were clear.
Deals dried up,orders disappeared, and the factory’s machines ground to a halt.
Two weeks after moving out, without a word from me,Fiona got wind of it.
She found me.
Panting heavily,she glared.
“Evan White,you’re insane!”
“Why’d you push 80%of the company’s orders elsewhere?”
“The factory is dead,machines stopped!”
“Keep this up,and the factory and company will collapse!”
I smirked coldly.
“Of course I know. That’s my goal!”
Fiona,her teeth freshly fixed,lost it.
“That’s your goal? You want to tank the company?”
“That’s the result of our blood, sweat, and tears! How could you destroy it?”
“You’re sick in the head, your brain is broken…”
I cut her off coldly.
“So you remember that the company represents our blood, sweat, and tears!”
“After just a few good days, you've forgotten your roots and betrayed me. You're a real scoundrel!”
“But now, what’s not yours will soon be gone.”
Fiona's mouth dropped open, her voice faltering with uncertainty.
“Is it really worth it to you?”
“I can stop, treat you right again…don’t take it out on the company…”
Nausea surged, and I waved her off.
“No need!”
“Just wait for bankruptcy and debt to come crashing down on you!”
Fiona panicked,words tumbling.
“If I go bankrupt, you won't be able to escape the consequences either!”
“We’re married! My debts are now yours as well!”
I nodded.
“I know.”
“So before the company goes bankrupt,I’ll divorce you first!”
