Chapter 59 Annoying

The silver sky tumbled in rushed, radiating ripples, and spat out water like it was angry at the world beneath it.
I pulled my hoodie over my head, hurrying up the stone steps that lead into Bowmore high. By the time I stepped into the hallway, I was a soaking mess.
To my relief, I wasn't the only one who had to drip and squeak their way to class.
History started with a bang—literally.
As I slipped into the airy room, the tower of chairs constructed by a few rebellious students gave in and tumbled to the ground.
Ella perked up when I slid into the seat beside her, eyeing the students scattering back to their seats when one of them announced the approaching teacher.
"Hey, so I had such an epic weekend," she grinned. "Met a cute guy. Like, totally swoon-worthy."
I smiled, unpacking my stationary onto my desk. "That sounds interesting."
"Absolutely," she flushed. "My dad works at the same place as his dad. They decided to have a dinner thing at our place, and he walked in. I swear you could hear the angels sing."
Someone behind me snorted a laugh. When I glanced over, Kayn was grinning at us, no doubt eavesdropping on our conversation.
"Where did you come from?" I would have noticed him if he was here before me. He wasn't. I was sure of it.
"Magic," he wiggled his fingers, confirming my suspicions.
"It's rude to eavesdrop, you know." I rolled my eyes, turning back to face Ella. "So, did you get his number?"
Ella looked hesitant as she glanced over at Kayn. When her eyes returned to me, she nodded shyly.
I grinned at her. "You go, girl."
"So, what did you do this weekend? Poppy's on a ski trip as we speak. Her parents got permission from the school to chug her out for a few days. How unfair is that?"
"Lucky her. I didn't do anything remarkable. You know, stayed home and read some books," I lied.
Her brows shot up. "That's it? Not even went into town, or took a swim?"
I shook my head. "Yeah, it was pretty boring."
"What?" Kayn exclaimed behind me, "What we did this weekend was everything but boring."
I hissed under my breath as Ella fell into a fit of giggles. She winked at me, mouthing, "You better spill the details."
I was so going to kill him.
