Chapter 62 Roy

"Okay, then it's settled. You'll compete at the last race tonight. You know the rules, right?" Roy stared at her with a worried expression.

"I know. It doesn't matter." Vale waved him off.

"Well then, best of luck and be careful," Roy said before walking off.

Vale watch Roy walk away from them as her brows slowly furrowed in suspicion. Right, how did Roy know it was her when she's clearly wearing a wig and black sunglasses?

"Wait!" Roy abruptly halted when he heard her voice and turned around in confusion.

"How did you know it was me?" Vale asked.

Roy's confused expression shattered. He smirked.

"Your lips. It's too tempting." Roy said before he ran off as if he's being chased by a dog.

"Roy McMerold!" Vale stomped her foot in dissatisfaction.

Sighing, she turned around and walked back towards her car.

Oops! The borrowed car from the guard.

Cassie followed obediently behind her. All along putting her guard up against the people around them.

After all, she's the only one accompanying their leader on her fun night. The responsibility was pushed onto her shoulder, unintentionally.

"Cassie?" Vale looked at Cassie.

"Yes?"

"You can watch the show with Roy, or you can ride together with me."

"Vodca, let me accompany you." Cassie's answer was immediate.

Just thinking of Roy made her body shivered in disgust. It's better to stay with her leader than to stay with that man.

"Okay, then. Get in, it's our turn soon." Vale said before entering the car.

Cassie followed suit.

The car was silent for a few minutes.

"You can ask me anything, you know." Vale said as she leaned back on the driver's car seat.

Cassie's face immediately reddened. How did her leader find out what she was thinking?

"Uh-Vodca, I'm just curious. What's the rule of the race?"

Vale chuckled lightly when she caught a glimpse of Cassie's red face.

Is her face that scary?

"There are no rules, to begin with. You can use any methods to win the match. It's that simple."

Use any methods?

It's that simple?

Cassie frowned. Yes. It's very simple, yet it hinted something else. Such as the method of winning. Does that mean, the participants can use violence? What if it caused murder?

"Then, isn't it too dangerous?" Cassie couldn't help but ask.

Vale snickered as she leaned back and squinted at her.

"Why? Are you afraid?" she raised her eyebrows.

"No!" Cassie pursed her lips.

'I'm worried about you!' Cassie wanted to continue but her words were stuck in her throat.

"Then, stop worrying. We are used to violence and murder. Furthermore, the people who participated in the race are all criminal. Not everyone in here is innocent, and even if something happened, no one could be blamed. After all, they had already agreed with the instructions."

Cassie wanted to smack her own head for her stupidity. What Vale said is reasonable. They are used to violence and murder. What's more, the people here are not exactly 100 percent innocent either.

The crowds' uproar reached their ears. Indicating that the current race has ended.

"It's our turn." Vale said and drove her car to the starting point.

The audience in the stadium was either sitting or standing as they shouted for their heroes.

Five cars were competing in total. One of them is a Hennesey venom GT, 270 miles per hour, one of the fastest car in the world.

It was said that the owner of the car had won almost every competition. He always takes his turn in the last final, causing the crowd to shout in anxiousness and excitement.

The one Vale is currently driving is a Bugatti Veyron super sport, 268 miles per hour.

When the girl brings the flags in her hands down, the cars immediately vroomed and shot forward like an arrow.

Vale kept her drive steady on position number three. To win the race, they have to complete five rounds in the arena and finished in the first place.

Cassie gripped the seatbelt for dear life as her legs trembled and her stomach twisted in a knot. She never knew that her leader is a sports car lover and also a freak in the car race. She can clearly felt her life on the line as the world around them blurred.

But, what's scarier is that the person on the driver's side is grinning from ear to ear like a mad person. Her eyes were shining in excitement. Driving the car to its fullest capability made Vale's felt like she was in heaven. That's how high her excitement was.

Even the troublesome evening she encountered had been pushed deep into the back of her mind.

Even though Cassie is not doing anything at all, she had been too frightened to the point of wetting her thin shirt in cold sweats.

Only now, she regretted accompanying her crazy leader to participate in the race. Only now, she realized that Vale had been holding back when they were on the road.

Cassie felt like they are not driving a car but felt like they were actually flying.

At rounds four, Vale sped up and passed the SSC ultimate aero, 257 miles per hour. All of a sudden, their car shot forward after being bumped from the back.

"The hell!" Vale cursed and ignored it as she drove faster. Increasing the car's speed.

Now, her distance with the Hennesey car is only a few meters away.

Halfway through round five, Vale sped up again, and the car shot forward and drive beside the Hennesey.
