Chapter 6

Their awkward encounter didn't discourage Victor Fuller; instead, it fueled his obsession. He convinced himself that Emily Wright's coldness was merely a front—punishment for his past mistakes—and that he simply needed to prove his "sincerity" more dramatically.

He pathologically channeled this obsession into business. He leveraged Fuller Group resources to enter the medical field—not from strategic interest, but to create a direct competition with Emily Wright's Foster Deep Tech. He deluded himself that defeating her professionally would somehow recapture her attention, perhaps even her submission.

But Emily Wright was no longer the woman who hung on his every word. Under her leadership, Foster Deep Tech continuously advanced its technology, expanded market share, and forged partnerships with leading hospitals. Victor Fuller's hastily assembled team lagged far behind in technical expertise, talent, and market understanding.

In several market skirmishes, Fuller Group's medical division was thoroughly outmaneuvered.

Victor Fuller couldn't accept defeat. His obsession and desperation drove him to a catastrophic decision—he committed a massive portion of the group's liquid assets to an all-or-nothing gamble on an overseas medical project that seemed promising but harbored enormous technical risks, hoping to leapfrog the competition through a shortcut.

The very evening he signed the massive investment agreement, Lily Woods tracked him down. By now, she'd abandoned her fragile victim act, her eyes gleaming with calculation and malice.

"Vic, I know exactly what you need." Lily slid a document across the table. "This is Foster Deep Tech's development roadmap and core algorithm logic for their next version. I can get you the complete package."

Victor Fuller's pupils constricted. "Where did you get this? This is proprietary information!"

Lily smiled, her expression predatory. "Don't worry about that. I have a... friend in Foster Deep Tech's technical department. Promise me 5% of Fuller Group shares and publicly announce our engagement, and all this information is yours."

The massive temptation and twisted desire for revenge finally overwhelmed Victor Fuller's last shred of ethics. Staring at the document that promised to transform defeat into victory while punishing Emily Wright for her "cruelty," he nodded. "...Alright. Deal."

Lily Woods' "intelligence" was toxic, reinforcing Victor Fuller's conviction in his decision. Based on this stolen information, he pivoted his overseas project's direction, betting everything on this stolen advantage.

He never suspected that from start to finish, he was walking into a carefully laid trap.

Three months later, at the grand launch of Fuller Group's medical project, Victor Fuller stood on stage confidently presenting their "revolutionary product." Just as his presentation peaked, the venue doors swung open, and Emily Wright strode in calmly, flanked by media and investors.

She walked directly to the media section and picked up a microphone.

"I apologize for interrupting Mr. Fuller's grand event," Emily Wright's voice carried clearly through the speakers, perfectly composed. "But I must clarify something important. The 'core algorithm' Fuller Group is presenting today shows a 92% match with Foster Deep Tech's patented technology—filed three months ago and scheduled for release next week."

The venue erupted in chaos!

Victor Fuller blanched and shouted, "Emily Wright! That's absurd! This is malicious competition!"

Emily ignored him and signaled her assistant. The large screen displayed patent timestamps, side-by-side code comparisons, and surveillance footage showing Lily Woods meeting a man in a hat outside Foster Deep Tech's offices, exchanging a USB drive.

Emily Wright's cold gaze swept over Victor Fuller's ashen face. "We have conclusive evidence proving Fuller Group's technology was stolen from our company through corporate espionage. We've already submitted all evidence to law enforcement and the SEC."

The press conference descended into pandemonium! Reporters surged forward, cameras and microphones aimed at Victor Fuller, who swayed unsteadily on stage.

Suddenly, Lily Woods rushed onto the stage like a fury, clutching Victor's arm and shrieking: "Vic! You promised! You said if I got those documents, you'd give me shares and announce our engagement! You have to keep your word! You have to protect me!"

Victor Fuller stared at the woman who had dragged him into the abyss, her face twisted with desperation. His suppressed rage exploded! He violently shoved her away, eyes bulging: "Get away from me, you psycho! This is all your fault! You've ruined me! I never even met this 'friend' of yours! You were the greedy one!"

"Victor Fuller! You bastard! Using me and throwing me away?!" Lily Woods, sprawled on the floor, finally dropped all pretense and screamed hysterically, "Would I have done this without your approval? You're the pathetic one! You couldn't beat Emily Wright fairly so you cheated! You deserve bankruptcy! You deserve her rejection!"

The two of them clawed and screamed at each other like street fighters, their professional facades completely shattered. Camera flashes strobed relentlessly, immortalizing their spectacular downfall.

Victor Fuller was finished.
Fuller Group's stock plummeted as investigations into corporate espionage and financial misconduct began, pushing the company toward bankruptcy.
Lily Woods was escorted away by police, facing serious charges of intellectual property theft and industrial espionage.
