Chapter 39

"Little versions of you and me running around this mansion." He explained slowly. "And you might even turn into a werewolf soon. Your senses will heighten and you will experience everything in every detail. You'll be one of us."
"I.. I don't know." The pressure of becoming a werewolf and having pups was slowly getting to her and she wasn't even sure if she was ready. All she knew for sure, she'd be more than happy to have his pups. But perhaps it would be too soon? They needed to deal with this guy who was hunting her first.
"I'm not gonna force you, baby doll," he said sincerely as he rubbed her back. But even then, she could see he looked hurt with her answer. "I want you to think about it. Being a werewolf.. can be a cool thing, you know? You get to run fast and haunt rabbits. We can run in the forest and I'll chase you since you like running away from me."
He pinched her cheek and she giggled. Oh, it's times like this that she found him so endearing and so sweet. She wish they would always be like this.
"I bet I can run faster than you if I'm a werewolf," she said and he only chuckled.
"We'll see."
And then he caught her by surprise when he kissed her. A moan escaped her lips as she kissed him back, savoring his taste. She wrapped her arms around his head as they ended up in a deep kiss, his hand rubbing up and down her back. Soon enough, she was getting wet. They pulled back, gasping for air.
He looked at ber then, eyes sparkling. "I love you and I'll always protect you."
She gave him a lovely smile. "I know you will."
Just then, there was a knock on the door. Anastasia quickly got off of Draco's lap and stood up on her feet, fixing her dress and wrapping her bathrobe around herself. Draco looked at her, amused, and she only shrugged.
"Come in," he called out and the door opened as quickly as possible.
"Alpha Draco!" Edward called, sounding so urgent. A few men followed after him. Anastasia looked at him who just reached the table, looking so exhausted and out of breath. She could see he was sweating. He must have been somewhere and she bet it wasn't good news.
"A rogue has entered our borders," he stated seriously. "We searched the entire place but he's nowhere to be found. It was like he just vanished into thin air."
"How can you let this happen?" Draco demanded with a strong voice, his eyes flaring. Anastasia could see he was getting angry.
"I-I didn't have enough time," he explained. "He was too fast."
"I don't care," Draco hissed. "If I order you to do something, I expect you to do it without fail. Do you understand how dangerous this is? We could all be in danger."
Edward bowed down his head in defeat. "I understand, Alpha Bourne. I'll do my best to search the grounds over night. We won't rest until we find him."
"If you don't find that rogue and I find him, you know what's going to happen," Draco warned. "I want all of you to search the entire place and some of you stay here to keep the women safe."
Edward gulped. Yes, Alpha Bourne."
"Leave."
Just as Edward left, almost falling down on his steps on the way out, everyone else got into action. Alpha Draco was already appointing some of the men into what they should do and where they should go. Anastasia saw Alpha Draco standing up from his seat and getting ready as well, stretching out his arms.
"You're leaving?" she asked, sounding so worried.
"I'm gonna hunt that rogue who dared to cross my borders," he said, sounding so angry yet calm.
She could only frown in confusion. "What exactly is a rogue?"
She heard him sigh and he looked down at her with hesitation. She had a right to know and soon enough she would be in danger. She should at least know what was happening and why it was happening.
"Rogues are those werewolves who don't belong to this pack or any pack. They're outsiders. No rogue has ever crossed this borders without my permission. This is the first time that this happened."
So that's what they were called? Rogues? Anastasia could feel dangers was upon them and she could only wait until it would happen. She had to be stronger by that time. She had to, or she would have no future. She would never see Draco nor her father ever again.
"If that's true, then that rogue might've had some help from the inside," she said. If this was the first time that someone was able to cross the borders even with full security measures, it was possible that that rogue had access from someone inside the borders. At first, it was just a theory but then the Alpha seemed to have an idea.
"Baby doll," he said, looking down at me with narrowed eyes. "You might just be right."
