Chapter 10

Entering Lawrence Sullivan's private elevator, I entered the password—my birthday—and arrived at the top floor.

The top floor was a helipad. Actually, I rarely went out with him, and I had only briefly glanced at this place when I first came to visit his company. I never thought I would come here again to leave.

"You finally came." Tanisha said to me with her thick Northern rolled accent.

The helicopter had already started, and the spinning of the blades along with the roar of the engine made it difficult for me to hear clearly what she was saying.

"Hurry up, no time to daydream, this is the final step."

The helicopter stirred up the surrounding air currents, making the path forward not smooth.

After struggling to reach the helicopter, Olivia climbed up first. She and Tanisha both extended their hands to me.

After all these years, I finally received the helping hand that fate extended to me.

"Victoria! You dare!!"

Just as I was about to board, an angry male voice came from behind.

It was undoubtedly Lawrence Sullivan. Although he still needed an assistant's support, he had come anyway.

Looking at the two women before me who were helping me with all their might, I suddenly felt strength coursing through my entire body, no longer afraid to face Lawrence Sullivan.

I turned around and coldly looked at him saying:

"What do I have to be afraid of! Lawrence Sullivan, I hate you, I hate you to the bone. I never loved you."

"What did you say?!" He was furious but unable to vent, so he could only shove away the assistant supporting him. But he himself also staggered a few steps.

"I tried to love you, but I couldn't. Because you are not a normal person. Look, you push away even those who are good to you. I am not your accessory, I am a living, breathing person, not a cold-blooded beast like you."

After saying that, I boarded the helicopter without looking back.

Suddenly remembering something, I crouched at the helicopter door, leaning against it, watching Sullivan who was struggling to walk closer step by step.

Lawrence Sullivan, did you ever imagine that you would have such a miserable day?

"Victoria, come back now and I might still spare you! Right now, get down here. I'll say it one last time, come! back!" His face turned red as a liver, losing his usual calm and gentle demeanor. With his ferocious expression, he truly resembled an evil spirit crawling out from hell.

"Why bother, Lawrence Sullivan? You and I are not the same kind of people. You're just accustomed to possessing things, enjoying branding others with your name. Stop hiding behind the pretense of loving me. You make me sick. Someone like you deserves only to die alone. You will always be by yourself. No one will ever like you, no one will stay by your side. Everyone will eventually leave you. Like me, and like the assistant you just pushed away."

"

After speaking, I no longer looked at him, turned and walked into the helicopter, and pulled the door shut with force.

After hearing my words, Lawrence Sullivan instinctively turned his head to look back, and indeed, there was no one behind him.

When he turned back, the helicopter in front of him was already slowly taking off. No silhouette could be seen through the small cabin window.

Ignoring the pain in his body, Lawrence Sullivan desperately tried to run forward, hoping to climb aboard the helicopter. But his body hadn't yet recovered to normal, and without anyone's support, he couldn't even walk two steps before his legs gave out, causing him to fall to the ground.

Even after falling, he continued to crawl forward. Viewed from above, he looked like a squirming worm.

I never imagined that one day I would see Lawrence Sullivan like this. It feels somewhat satisfying, but still not enough.

"Victoria," Tanisha, sitting beside me, glanced at Lawrence outside the window and slowly spoke, "If you're willing, you can join our company after we reach R country. Your abilities far exceed Lawrence's, and you'll grow into someone who can completely defeat him."

"Thank you, and thank you, Olivia. Without you all, I couldn't have escaped that living hell. Please don't worry, this time I will firmly take my destiny into my own hands. As for him, in these past few days Olivia has helped leak many company secrets to his competitors, so I imagine he'll soon be in over his head, unable to save himself."

Turning to look at the rising sun in the distance, today's weather was especially nice, without a trace of clouds or fog.

"And I will have my own beautiful new life."
