Chapter 452 WINNER

The sweet scent of strawberry and fresh fruit wafted through the air, I took in a deep silent breath to absorb more of the sweet scent, stretching my arms and legs muscles, I sank deep into the soft comfy mattress. It felt like heaven, I didn't want to wake up till I heard a voice in my head.

It sounded like, "Good morning."

I sat up immediately to be greeted by the man I met at the club. I quickly checked my body for any signs of anything even if I had little idea of what I was searching for. I moved my butt slowly but felt no pain. Don't judge me, Yvonne said first times were always painful so I thought I would feel pain. I was still in my red dress. Does this mean I'm safe?

"You passed out last night at the club so I brought you to my mansion." He explained picking a mug from the table as he stretched his hands out giving it to me. I took the mug and sipped the coffee in it.

"Do you feel better now?" He asked sitting next to me on the bed. "Y... Yes." I managed to say. "You finally spoke, I was beginning to think you were dumb, get ready, let me take you home." He smiled rubbing my hair.

After my not-so-long bath, I wore the dress I found my way out of the room. This is the sweetest thing anyone has done for me, though I still prefer the snubbing hot guy in my head. This man seems better than the rest, he's been the sweetest so far. I stepped out of the room and into the large hallways once I was done dressing up.

The mansion was beautiful, more beautiful than anything I've seen. Its impeccable designs were heavenly. I didn't know the way out but I took my right till I arrived at the grand stairs. Holding its ray for support, I found my way down the stairs to see him in the lounge. His gaze held mine for a split second before diverting his gaze from me.

"Let's go." He led me out of the mansion and into the black car parked just at the entrance of it. Our drive was silent, and the journey back home was lengthy. We finally arrived at the entrance of my little cozy apartment. It was amusing how he knew my house without giving him directions.

"I'll ask my driver to pick you up tonight for an important event this evening. I would really love it if you attend Bash." He said with a smile.

I had no idea who I was dealing with, who these men were, or what I've gotten into. But I cared less, I'm a living dead anyway so they wouldn't be accomplishing anything if they killed me.

"Of course, why not? Alright goodbye." I said to him while stepping out of his car. Who knows, he might be the one after all.

.

A few brushes of different sizes and shapes ran across my face. I sat before my dressing mirror as Pamela and Yvonne did their girly thing on my face. I had called and asked for their help cause I knew little to nothing about fashion and beauty.

I'm Bash Middleton, an orphan who found her way Into the big city to make ends meets. My parent's both died of cancer which I do have now. I'm 21, I have my dream job and everything I've ever wanted except one, a true love. I already made a list of the things I wanted to do.

I just want to experience loving someone even if he doesn't love me back. I want to do the things I haven't done with the short time I've been given.

The diamond hairpins brought with my dress were used to style my hair. "What is the theme of this event again Bash?" Pamela asked. "The card is over there," I said lazily.

"The card said the nineties as the dress code." Yvonne shrugged and continued with the hair pins. "You think the nineties used this much diamonds?" Pamela asked.

"It doesn't matter we're in the twenties not nineties." Yvonne rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, just do whatever makes you happy."

I looked dazzling standing before my mirror, who would believe a little makeover would turn me into a doll? "Make sure you don't eat too much and act classy." Yvonne started placing my purse in my hands.

"Smile always and learn to be polite with people. One more thing, don't drink so you can meet your man." Pamela added. I only smiled and nodded at their words.

Pamela and Yvonne are more than friends to me. They're like my sisters, my family.

One honk and the next had them peeking through the window. "Woah, Bash, a black Limousine is parked outside," Pamela said for all three of us to peek through the window. Both girls pushed me out of my apartment immediately.

I tried to maintain a good posture as I strode towards the car. The chauffeur stepped out opening the door quickly as I stepped in.

"Hello." Arno greeted with the sweetest smile. "Hey."

"Hey, sexy." Damon greeted. "Hello," I responded as my cheek turned warm in embarrassment. "You look lovely." The one they call Callon said. "Thank you."

My gaze went to the dark man at a corner reading a magazine and sipping a wine. They all gave me weird stares as each person stared at one another before mustering a smile. "Ignore Xander, he's not kind to people," Arno whispered and I nodded.

We arrived at a mansion and Arno helped me out of the car. "Here use this mask to cover your identity, I wouldn't want you exposing yourself yet." He said giving me a black mask that went well with my dress.

We stepped into the mansion and I unknowingly let out a gasp. I've never seen such extravagance before, everything was... Perfectly put in place. From the green marble floor matching the white ceiling which held a large chandelier to the little decor around the large hall. Large glasses of wine were arranged on a table, one on the top of another, forming a triangle shape.

A large cake was placed on a table close to the entrance of the large grand stairs. It seemed like a birthday party of the elite. From the fancy dresses from the women and suits from the men, I knew this wasn't just any birthday party. Few celebrities and social media gurus were present at the party.

Presidents and politicians from different countries attended. At least I could identify a few of them. Everyone cheered when the birthday girl ascended from the large stairs in a blue flowing dress. Her red hair was beautifully styled to rest on her shoulder perfectly. She was indeed the definition of beauty...

The beautiful woman walked towards us when she was done greeting the other guests. Her eyes lingered around us and stopped when it fell on me.

"Hello Arno, you never said you were attending my party, where's Xander." She asked finally shifting her gaze from me and I let out a small sigh.

"He should be with his maker, or is probably having fun at a corner." Damon laughed at his dry jokes which no one else thought to be funny.

"Who's she?" She asked sizing me with her eyes.

"This... Is... Bash, she's a friend to Xander." Arno lied. I wasn't a friend to Xander, he wouldn't even talk or look at me. She narrowed her eyes at me.

"I don't recall having a mask party." Arno chuckled at her words.

"Well, we don't always have to follow your silly dress code should we?" She shook her head not taking her brown eyes off me.

"You must really be of importance to him to be called a friend." She said with an invisible pain in her voice. Of course, I saw this coming, Mr Perfect is so handsome, so it's not surprising that he's got a woman in love with him. She's ten times more beautiful than I am, I wondered why I thought I had a chance with him.

I said nothing to her, rather just smiled at her words adjusting the mask on my face. If only she knew I haven't said anything to Xander other than the hi he didn't respond to.

"Anyways, since you're here, may I have this dance, my lady?" Callon asked gesturing his hands which she took after rolling her eyes.

"Stay here, bunny don't go anywhere. I need to talk to someone real quick." Arno left me to a woman just across us. I felt awkward and alone standing next to no one, it's not like Damon looked like someone who could keep people company. Maybe I should have asked Camela or Yvonne to come with me.

I was the only one without a partner. Even if the men didn't con with anyone, at least they
