Chapter 386 PAYBACK TIME 1

"Mother!"
"MOTHER!" Nari ran down the stairs as she called for her mother. Yesterday she had only a little tuna to eat all day because there was no money to get food and apparently Anna didn't send the money she promised. Nari couldn't believe she had to fight with Kate to eat that tuna and up until this moment, she hasn't had anything else to eat.
"What is it?" Kate asked scratching the back of her neck. For a full week, she has been unable to bath or take good care of her skin properly like before. The wrinkled lines on her face were be coming more and more visible. She was losing her beauty and it is already exhausting enough.
"Did Anna send the money to the account?" Kate asked.
"Wouldn't it have been better if she sent nothing. The money isn't enough to get any important bracelet for the party tonight. We can only afford a few groceries from this." Nari nagged as she placed her but on the sofa angrily.
When she agreed to still be Kate's daughter she thought Anna would be their new slave that would provide for them and do their biddings. But it's now the complete opposite. She gets to still live in a mansion with Noah and get to eat the best food even if she's a barren woman, while they're here, trying to survive off canned food.
Why is life not fair to them?
Why is life treating them so harshly?
"How much did she send?" Kate asked.
"5000. With the economy now, it would be enough for grocery for a week." Nari said. She couldn't believe a time will come when she would have to worry about how much she could spend for food or not. She gritted her teeth more.
"But that's not our agreement. She was supposed to give us 5million for the detective to continue his job." Kate said.
Does her niece think she was joking when she spoke about the detective? Kate couldn't believe Anna would play in her face like this.
"I can't believe Anna will play in our faces like this. What is this money supposed to get us?" Nari barked feeling so irritated.
"And who the hell is going to get the groceries? She's meant to go buy them with her car, not send money." Nari yelled. She couldn't afford to be seen in public, not after the humiliation from the mall and the things that have been happening to them. She doesn't even look good enough to be seen outside.
"I know her plans. She's doing everything to payback for the things we've done to her." Kate said with a frown.
"She doesn't want us to attend that party mother. Anna knows we're going to expose her being infertile before every distinguished guest in Summerlane." Nari said out loud. It had been her plans, she thought she would rent a decent dress with the millions Anna would send and maybe make a come back and prove to her naysayers that she was okay and doing well, while at the same time exposing Anna for being infertile and also exposing her for hoarding Mack because of her jealousy.
Nari couldn't believe Anna had refused to release Mack for weeks now. If he was here, she's so sure they wouldn't be in this mess. He would have stopped Kate from being foolish before she actually was.
"We are attending that party no matter what happens. I have a few jewel I retrieved from the mansion the day I left. While we were some tonight, it wouldn't be hard finding a decent buyer, those jewels worth a fortune." Kate said.
"I'll get buyers and you'll go grocery shopping Nari. We have no choice than to use the little money Anna has sent." Kate said. Nothing was for granted, they would have to find other means.
"Did you receive any news from the hospital about Grace and my father?" Kate asked. She has been meaning to ask as well since she hasn't sent in any money for a week now and she hopes those people haven't done anything stupid to her sister. As for the old fool, Kate wasn't so sure she wanted him dead anymore. Losing their money and everything he's worked so hard for was enough punishment for him.
For some reason, she wanted him alive to see what she has done. She wanted him to see the damages she's caused him and how much she enjoyed doing them.
"They sent series of messages last week but I didn't respond to them because we had other pressing issues at hand. Grace got violent and was transfered to a more suitable place but grandpa remained where he was." Nari explained. She had seen the messages but she ignored them, Grace and her father were the least of her problems right now. She also had her family in there, the same family she had abandoned for years now.
That's her biggest secret. A secret she's ready to carry to her grave. No one has to know about them, if they do, she would be doomed for life.
"We'll have to pay them a visit today, but that'll be after a sell most of my jewelries. Kate didn't have enough money that's why she couldn't go there or do anything for herself. This is the reason Noah has cut all of their income. He wanted them to not be able to do anything, that's the only way he could catch them.
"Than I should go for shopping now mother. I'm starved." Nari said and hurried up the stairs. She had hope that Kate would make at least a couple of millions from her expensive jewels worth hundreds of millions.
Just why didn't think think of these before. They would have never have to depend on Anna for anything in the first place.
That bitch. Nari thought. "She would have to deal with Anna before she comes for her." Just like everything she's been saying up until now, they have all been clearly assumptions and lies to sooth her foolishness.
