The estate reeked of age and was tucked away from all other estate but it was still beautiful. A little renovation would go a long way and turn this place into a master piece.
This could be where her father and mother used to live before now. Anna was curious at the same time terrified at the location of the estate. She didn't feel safe, especially since there were no other residence around it. There were no security at the gate to ask any questions about where they were, but since this was the only estate available in this place, she walked back into her car and drove in.
Who knows, she might find her aunt around here.
As they drove in, she noticed a few story building scattered around the abandoned yard. The light hanging on the poles looked broken and old now. She understood why. It's been years since anyone has visited this place. The last time she heard her grandfather talk about this place, he had spoken about selling it or renovating it.
She had no idea why her family would want to waste a beautiful place as this one. They could have easily renovated it and kept it running while they lived in their current mansion.
They kept driving till they arrived before the main building. Though looked so old and worn out, it still stood so tall and proud in age. It was beautiful.
The yard was large too, having scattered leaves around the entire place. A little cleaning would make this place the perfect place again. Anna thought to herself.
Ashley helped carry a few groceries from the car as they stepped into the mansion. The interior of the mansion said something different from what the outside part looked like. To anyone who looked at the mansion, it looked so old and broken that no one would want it. But the inside was quite impressive.
From the decorations, to the building structure. Everything screamed luxury but in an old fashioned way. The little mansion looked so cozy and peaceful. Anna suddenly regretted not discovering this masterpiece before now, if she knew, she would have stayed here away from Kate's trouble and endless naggings.
"You're finally here, and you brought a servant?" Kate stepped out of her room when she heard noises coming from the lounge. She was dressed in one of her many beautiful dresses with her jewels adorned around her body. Anna stared at her proud aunt and almost scoffed.
She had gambled their wealth and money away, yet she was still dressed in the finest of materials acting like she had done nothing wrong. As much as she would love to see her aunt suffer a little, she wouldn't want to wish bad on anyone. No one deserves to suffer, no matter what they do, if they repent genuinely.
"She's finally here?" She heard Nari's voice from inside and frowned. The witch still stayed back because she knows Anna would be her new provider. How long was she going to keep benefitting from their family without putting in any work?
"At least you still know how to act to your Aunt." Nari said seating on one of the sofa.
"Ashley is my assistant, not a servant." Anna corrected her aunt who didn't pay attention to her in any way.
"Did you buy the things I asked for. My body products need to be accurate Anna, I cannot afford to use anything else."
"Your body products are worth millions, it isn't something we can afford now. I got cheaper ones instead." Kate paused and stared at her neice in disdain.
"Do you take me for some cheap slut Anna? I ask you for one thing. One little thing, yet you cannot do it." Kate started moving around to pour everything in the bag on the table, her actions had a few of them falling on the floor.
She stared at the cheap body products with so much hate in her eyes. She might not have any money with her right now, but she would never settle for cheap products. She would never let Anna humiliate her this much.
"I don't need this." Kate threw the first bottle away and it shattered on the floor. Ashley who walked Into the scene with more grocery bags froze at the sight before him. He stared at Anna who looked unshaken in a place. She didn't sound surprised at all by all of these.
"Anna, after everything mother had done for you, this is how you repay her?" Nari clicked her tongue as she stared at her cousin.
"And what have you done for her?" Anna smiled. "You might as well start looking for a job, because you would have to sbe providing for you both." Nari was the one to frown this time.
"How could you say such...'
"Have I said anything wrong? You're aunt Kate's daughter aren't you. It's time you're useful to the family, don't tell me you can't help after everything we have all done for you Nari." Anna said.
She just knows how to deal with such ungrateful people.
"I never said I wasn't going to help." Nari tried to defend herself.
"Of course you never said that. I could arrange a few work for you in town due to your qualifications." Anna smiled.
"I see you have come to insult us Anna." Kate was the one to speak this time.
"You can have your cheap groceries back Anna, I don't need your cheap products. And I don't want you in this mansion if you're only here to insult me."
"Understand aunt Kate. Noah might be rich, but your actions also brought doom on us too. We have issues now too as all of the Declan's money have been locked too." Kate froze, and then started laughing so loud like Anna had just cracked a joke.
Who does her neice think she was decieving. Indeed Anna has come here to mock her predicament. Anna has come here to insult her.
"You pathetic liar. You're not even good at the one thing you know how to do best." Nari cut in as she searched for food amongst the items her mother had scattered around the table. Anna stared at both ungrateful woman indifferently. She knew while she went to buy the items from the shop, she was only wasting her time. These women will never appreciate anything she does.
