He didn't know whether to place his tag on her or finally announce her to the world so that they could stop messing with her. He was tired of the constant disrespect. He couldn't tell what Anna's life would be like if he hadn't met her, especially with her having a family who never listens to her.
"There no need, I'll stay." Anna said staring at the man with a scar. He quickly fell to his knees the moment she pointed him out. So that's why he was trying to hide. But who could be so stupid to still be here after everything that had happened last night?
She hoped she had been wrong because he looked so innocent and harmless, having an average height which could be declared too short for a man. But she wasn't.
"Are you sure?" Her hubby asked and she nodded with a smile. She wanted to see the face of the bastard who had tried to set her up.
The man's face was pale, his eyes wide with fear. He looked up at Anna, silently pleading for mercy. He knew she was the only one who might show mercy between her and Noah. Noah would rather have his head spiked on a stick and displayed at the center of town to threaten anyone who dared mess with his wife.
Noah couldn't believe one of their servants had drugged his wife. At least he had high expectations of them being different, but this fool here had proved him wrong once again. Everyone does, he knew he couldn't trust humans, they're the most stupid people on earth.
He was furious and stunned at the same time. "Who gave you the drugs?" His dark voice rang in the man's ears, causing him to shiver.
"M... Master Noah," the man stammered, his voice barely audible, trembling under the weight of Noah's piercing gaze.
"What's your name?" Anna's soft voice rang out as she stared at him. She couldn't believe this man has really drugged her. He looked too innocent to be that vile.
"Ziggler," he responded quickly, clasping his hands together as he begged for mercy. "Please, Miss Sui, I would never do any wrong to you. I was forced to do it. A man wearing a mask came in here and threatened me; he said he would kill my son if I didn't comply. I had no choice."
Ziggler's pleading words did nothing to ease the darkness growing in Noah's eyes. He knew these kind of people and he hated them. The poor ones who do terrible things and apologize quickly, pretending they know nothing about what they had done.
"Who is the man?" Noah demanded.
"I... I don't know who he is, I never saw his face." Ziggler said.
"So how did he pay you? Did you not receive any money for what you had done?" Noah smiled at the foolish man beside him, did he think he was stupid not to know everything going on?
"I... i..." Ziggler stammered trying to find the right words. Noah got him cornered with his words. He didn't want to say anything because Mark still has his son, he had only given him the location of where he kept his son if he makes it out of here alive.
Mark had told him that the drugs would make Anna forget everything that happened but that didn't work because the girl remembers everything about him.
"For such transaction to take place you would need to see your employer. How much did he pay you." Ziggler got up immediately and tried to run away when a guard grabbed him and almost immediately, a hard blow fell on his cheek causing him to stumble to the floor and he spat out blood.
Anna who hadn't expected such merciless action gripped her purse so tightly. She has never seen a man being beaten before in real life. Maybe in movies but not in real life.
"From his action he's hiding something, find out who tries to drug my wife in any way you can and lock him up in the local prison when you're done. He'll spend the rest of his life behind bars."
"No! No please sir I can't do that! I have a family to take care of..." The guard dragged him out of there and the room turned silent again.
"Will they kill him?" Anna asked biting her lips, she couldn't imagine what he would go through. Isn't it better he just gives out all of the information, why is he protecting the person who tried to kill her.
Noah couldn't help but chuckle at his soft wife. She always sees good in the heart of the darkest people and the world isn't that way. It's a good thing she has him, the heartless man with a dark heart.
"If they have to, but let's hope it doesn't get to that. Let's hope he tells the truth." For Noah he had a few suspects and he hated that his sister was part of it. But since this man said a man in mask, it changed everything. Who could the man be?
Noah turned to his assistant who had an indifferent expression, "Did you manage to get a hold of the CCTV footage?" Paul shook his head. "Your father said he was yet to plant any, that's why they had bodyguards everywhere."
"And yet they still somehow managed to drug my wife." Noah smiled downwards as he spoke.
Lola who stood beside Anna was still as scared as Anna about what she had just seen. She knew the lives of celebrities and billionaires wasn't as rosey as they always say it was, but she didn't think it would be this bad.
They have tried to kill or destroy Anna countless times now. Whoever is doing this was good at covering up their tracks, but she was certain they would find out soon.
