Chapter 6

He was clearly uncomfortable with Liam and Jake's brazen fraud. With minimal prompting from Ava, he spilled crucial information.
Ava read me the messages one by one.
"Mike says Liam told everyone I'm mentally unstable, and the breakup was 'for my own good,'" Ava read, a mocking smile playing on her lips.
"Classic gaslighting 101," I commented.
"Apparently Jake was 'sympathetic' to Liam's situation, so he 'took him in.'" Ava frowned. "Took him in? That's revolting."
Suddenly, Ava's expression froze. She held up her phone, showing Mike's latest message:
"Wait... does Jake's girlfriend know about him and Liam? He's been with Kate for three years, and last month he was talking about proposing."
Kate.
A name. A three-year relationship. An impending proposal.
These words pierced through the satirical facade, exposing the bloody reality beneath.
My heart sank as I watched Ava's face.
Her smile vanished, replaced by bone-chilling fury I'd never witnessed before—not personal vengeance, but pure, righteous rage.
"Chloe," she began, her voice soft yet resolute, "this isn't just about me anymore."
I nodded, handing her water. "I understand."
"I can accept being deceived—that was my error in judgment." Her fingers gripped her phone until her knuckles whitened. "But I cannot watch another woman, completely unaware, continue being deceived by this scum, possibly even marry him."
Her anger transcended personal grievance, becoming righteous empathy. She wasn't just seeking revenge on Liam and Jake, but on what they represented—parasites feeding on women's emotions and resources.
"Kate deserves to know the truth," Ava concluded.
"What's your plan?" I asked. "Contact her directly from your account?"
"No." Ava immediately rejected the idea. "That would drag me in, making it look like two women fighting over a man. Too messy."
She stood and paced the living room, mind racing.
"I need something untraceable, but absolutely lethal."
Minutes later, she returned to her laptop, her gaze sharp as a sniper preparing for a kill shot.
She bypassed her regular accounts and created a temporary email address—random letters and numbers.
Then she located the original video file documenting Liam and Jake's betrayal.
Her fingers moved precisely, capturing just the most damning seconds—Liam and Jake clearly entangled, their expressions unmistakable, yet avoiding anything explicitly pornographic that might create legal issues.
She converted these seconds into a looping GIF.
A silent yet deafening piece of evidence.
Using Mike's information, she found Kate's Instagram—a public account filled with couple photos showcasing their seemingly perfect relationship.
Ava calmly copied Kate's email address.
She opened a new email and attached the damning GIF.
In the body, she typed just one line:
"You deserve better."
You deserve better.
No signature. No explanation. No emotional outpouring. Just a simple, cold statement of undeniable truth.
She clicked "Send."
Throughout the process, she remained calm as a surgeon, without a hint of hesitation.
After finishing, she closed her laptop and exhaled deeply.
"Done," she said. "The rest is up to Kate."
We didn't discuss it further, just waited for the silently dropped bomb to detonate in another woman's world.
We didn't wait long.
About three hours later, Ava suddenly sat upright.
"Chloe, look."
I leaned over to see Kate's Instagram page.
In just hours, the page had undergone a complete transformation.
All couple photos—worldwide travels, romantic restaurant kisses—everything was gone, wiped clean.
Her profile picture, once a couple selfie, had changed to solid black—like a digital tombstone.
The most recent post was just minutes old.
It showed a black garbage bag stuffed with expensive gifts—designer bags, jewelry boxes, and several pairs of men's sneakers.
The caption was just one sentence:
"It's trash day."
(Today is garbage day.)
Under the post, friends were already rallying with supportive comments:
"Well done, girl! Never liked that guy anyway!"
"What happened??? But good riddance!!!"
"You deserve the best, babe. Trash belongs in the trash."
We stared at the post like viewers admiring a perfect season finale.
Jake's world had clearly imploded.
And who would he blame in his rage? The anonymous informer, or Liam who shared his secret?
A vicious dog-eat-dog show was about to begin.
