Chapter 6:Transformation Under the Moonlight

"I've never been more certain of anything," I replied, my gaze unwavering.
My first move was to protect my assets. I hired the best legal team money could buy.
"According to your prenuptial agreement, if you can prove James's infidelity, you retain all marital assets," the lawyer explained.
"I need evidence," I said. "Concrete, irrefutable evidence."
Noah hesitated, then pulled out his phone.
"I have this," he said, playing a recording of James and Aria.
"We need to be careful," James's voice warned. "If Emma discovers our plan..."
"She won't," Aria replied confidently. "She trusts you too much, even after losing the baby."
"Once we get control of her company, you and I can finally be together," James continued.
"Do you really love me?" Aria asked, her voice sickeningly sweet.
"Of course. It's always been you, never Emma."
My heart broke again, but this time there were no tears—only cold, calculated anger.
"Is this enough?" Noah asked.
The lawyer nodded. "More than enough. We can file immediately."
"No," I stopped him. "Not yet. I want them to taste their own medicine first."
Back home, I completely changed my approach.
I became sweet and attentive toward James, as if I'd forgiven everything.
"You seem different today," James said, surprised to find me preparing his breakfast.
"I think we should start over," I smiled sweetly. "Let bygones be bygones."
He eyed me suspiciously but was clearly thrown by my transformation.
"Really? You forgive me?"
"Life's too short to waste on hatred," I said softly, while inwardly sneering at his gullibility.
James looked relieved and pulled me into an embrace.
"I knew you'd come around, Emma. We'll start fresh."
I smiled in his arms while my eyes flashed gold behind his back.
Yes, we would start over—just not in the way he imagined.
In the days that followed, I played the perfect wife, watching James and his family lower their guard.
Meanwhile, I secretly contacted Marcus, the wolf pack elder.
"Luna, we feared you had abandoned the pack," he said during our clandestine meeting deep in the forest.
"I would never abandon my people," I replied. "But I need your help."
I told him about the Reed family's conspiracy and how they had exploited my werewolf identity.
"They must pay," Marcus growled, his eyes flashing. "Exploiting the pack is unforgivable."
"I don't want bloodshed," I explained. "I just want justice."
Marcus nodded: "The pack stands with you, Luna. On the night of the full moon, we will show our true power."
Back at the company, I began quietly transferring assets, ensuring James couldn't touch my core wealth.
Lisa helped me establish a new company structure, completely excluding the Reed family.
"Won't they find out?" she asked worriedly.
"By the time they discover it, it will be too late," I said with a cold smile.
Meanwhile, I appeared increasingly intimate with James on the surface, even hinting that we could have another child.
"Really?" he asked in surprise, "you're ready?"
"Of course," I smiled and said, "family is the most important thing, isn't it?"
He was completely deceived by my performance and began to reduce his contact with Aria.
But I knew their betrayal wouldn't stop because of my "forgiveness."
One night, I pretended to go on a business trip, but actually hid in a secret room at home.
As I expected, James immediately invited Aria over.
"Finally we can be alone," he embraced her in the living room, "Emma has been so clingy lately."
"Did she really forgive you?" Aria asked, her voice tinged with jealousy.
"Of course not," James laughed, "but she needs me, especially after losing the baby. As long as I act concerned enough, she'll give me everything."
"Including control of the company?"
"Yes, I've already planted my people on the board. Soon, we'll take over everything she has."
I quietly recorded everything, and the last bit of hesitation in my heart disappeared.
They not only took away my child, but also wanted to take everything from me.
It was time to fight back.
The next day, I called an emergency board meeting.
James was also present, looking confused.
"Everyone," I began, "I have an important decision to announce."
Everyone looked at me expectantly.
"I've decided to restructure the company," I continued, "Starting today, all projects related to the Reed family will be terminated."
James's face changed dramatically: "What? Emma, you can't do this!"
"Of course I can," I said calmly, "This is my company."
"But we are partners," he argued, "Your father's company and the Reed family have always worked together."
"That was the past," I interrupted him, "From now on, everything will change."
After the meeting, James pulled me aside.
"What exactly are you doing?" he growled in a low voice, "Didn't we agree to start over?"
I smiled at him: "Yes, we are starting over. Just not in the way you imagined."
His expression changed from confusion to anger: "Are you getting revenge on me?"
"No, James," I said softly, "I'm just doing what I need to do."
That night, Victor called, his voice angry.
"Emma, do you know what you're doing? You've terminated all contracts with my company!"
"Yes, Victor, I'm very clear about what I'm doing," I answered calmly.
"Is this about what happened on that trip? That was just an accident!"
"No, it wasn't an accident," my voice turned cold, "it was a trap carefully planned by all of you."
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a moment.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he finally said, but the tension in his voice betrayed him.
"You know," I said, "all of you know. But now, the rules of the game have changed."
After hanging up the phone, I looked at the moon outside the window.
It was three days until the full moon night, when my power would reach its peak.
And the Reed family would learn what true fear is.
James was home when I was packing my luggage.
"Where are you going?" he asked, with wariness in his tone.
"The wolf territory," I answered directly, "the full moon is coming."
"You can't go," he objected immediately, "you almost died there last time."
"This time is different," I said with a smile, "this time I'm prepared."
"I won't allow you to go," he raised his voice, "as your husband, I have the right to stop you."
I paused what I was doing and turned to face him.
"You have no right to do anything to me, James. You lost that right the moment you chose to betray me."
"I didn't betray you!" he argued, but his eyes flickered.
"Really?" I took out my phone and played the recording of him with Aria.
His face instantly turned pale.
"You...you've been spying on me?"
"No need for spying," I sneered, "You were too confident, thinking I would never discover the truth."
"Emma, I can explain..."
"No explanation needed," I interrupted him, "Everything is over, James. Our marriage, your schemes, everything is over."
"You can't do this," he suddenly became angry, "You think you can just abandon the Reed family? We will destroy you!"
Finally, he showed his true face.
"Try it," I said calmly, a golden light flashing in my eyes, "But remember the consequences of making an enemy of a wolf."
I picked up my luggage and walked toward the door.
"This isn't over, Emma!" he shouted behind me.
I looked back at him, a cruel smile curling at my lips.
"No, James, this is just the beginning."
In the wolf territory, Marcus and the other elders were waiting for me.
"Luna has returned," they whispered, eyes filled with respect.
"Yes, I have returned," I said, feeling the power within me, "and this time, I will no longer be weak."
The full moon rose, and I felt an unprecedented power surge within me.
No longer suppressing, no longer fearing, I embraced my true self.
Under the moonlight, I completed my transformation.
No longer the deceived Emma, but the powerful Luna, leader of the wolf pack, the embodiment of vengeance.
The Reed family wants war, and they will soon get it.
But not in the way they expect.
