The mansion looked like a puzzle made from treasure, showing off the family's money and strength. We got taken into a very big library where you could smell old leather and shiny wood all over the place. Chief Olumide was sitting behind his large desk, looking very serious and showing no emotion at all on his face.
Eki and Dapo exchanged glances, worry clear in their eyes. They both understood what was coming very soon. The reality is, the moment they were waiting for seemed more frightening as it got nearer—a feeling they did not know before now.
"We know about Moonlight Lease," Eki said, trying to keep her voice steady even though she felt nervous inside. "We understand the hidden group."
The face of the elderly man remained still. "Then, what will you do?" he inquired, appearing slightly mocking as he spoke.
Dapo stepped ahead. "Everything you did, we will show it," he said with strength. "Law is in your support."
The old man laughed, but it did not sound like a happy laugh. It seems strange and hollow. "You believe you can do it? You are like a speck of dust facing a huge storm."
Eki started to feel more upset. She said loudly, "We are not alone." "We got a city, we got artists, and people with us. You can stop us."
He came even closer, eyes sparkling with some mischief. "You make me look weak," he said in a threatening tone, "I have big plans for the earth - a balance of power no one can change."
The talk was very heated because Eki and Dapo fought a lot. They kept accusing one another more and more, their upset feelings making them even more headstrong. The man who was old, with all his talking, seemed like he was trying to defend himself.
Then, all of a sudden, the old man stopped talking. His eyes which looked very strict before now show regret; they do not look cold and uncaring anymore.
"You are correct," he murmured, "I have done wrong... very wrong."
Eki and Dapo looked at each other with surprise because they did not expect to see this person.
The old man was the one talking, his voice full of sorrow from many years past. He shared a story about how this secret group began. It was made by artists and smart people who wanted to make a perfect world. But when they got power, their dream turned into something bad instead.
