"You've met with Zoe Taylor three times!" She scattered surveillance photos across his desk. "And gave her a bracelet worth millions!"
Michael barely glanced up. "My affairs are none of your concern."
"Have you forgotten our agreement?" Mia's voice rose shrilly. "I helped you get rid of Rachel Williams, and you promised me the VP position and your last name!"
"So what? Rachel Williams is dead, and you got what you wanted." Michael waved dismissively. "Don't forget who elevated you from being just another secretary."
Mia's expression crumbled, tears welling in her eyes. "You promised to love me... After everything I've done for you... I tampered with Rachel's medication to cause her miscarriages, I helped plan her 'accident,' I even got pregnant to boost your public image!"
"Love?" Michael scoffed. "Who are you compared to Zoe Taylor? She has class, intelligence. You're just a secretary who knows how to spread her legs."
"You'll regret this!" Mia stormed out, tears streaming down her face, colliding with Zoe who was arriving with documents.
"Happy now?" Mia hissed venomously. "Stealing my husband?"
Zoe responded with perfect composure. "Mrs. Davis, you're mistaken. This is strictly business."
"Drop the act!" Mia snarled. "I know your game. Think you can replace me? Let me tell you, I'm not some pushover like Rachel Williams. You'll regret this!"
Zoe's heart stuttered, but her expression remained impassive. "Mrs. Davis, such stress can't be good for the baby."
"Such a sanctimonious bitch!" Mia spat. "I'm watching you!"
After storming off, Mia immediately transformed her demeanor and headed to Thompson Group headquarters.
"Mr. Thompson, might I have a moment?" she asked, eyes brimming with tears, one hand protectively cradling her belly. "I'm worried about Ms. Taylor..."
Jack regarded her with glacial detachment. "State your business."
"Your fiancée and my husband have been getting... close. I'm concerned she'll be hurt," Mia feigned compassion. "Michael isn't the man he appears to be... He charmed Rachel Williams too, and well..." She trailed off suggestively.
Jack saw through her performance instantly. "I appreciate your concern, but I trust my fiancée completely."
"What you don't know," Mia lowered her voice conspiratorially, "is that Rachel Williams' accident... wasn't really an accident. I have proof..."
Jack's eyes narrowed. "What kind of proof?"
"When the time is right, I'll share everything," Mia said enigmatically. "I just hope Ms. Taylor doesn't meet the same... unfortunate end as Rachel Williams."
After Mia left, Jack immediately called Zoe.
"She's more dangerous than we anticipated," Zoe analyzed coolly. "She plays the victim with Michael, the concerned friend with you, but she's ruthless when cornered. Worse, she may actually have evidence of their crime."
Jack nodded thoughtfully. "She's adaptable, but that makes her predictable. We can use her."
