Chapter 226 Losing My Mind

Before I know it, I am in the center dancing with Aiden. He is tugging at my hand, throwing me this way, and that, too fast for me to do anything, he does everything with unearthly grace.
He was leading me skillfully, and I couldn't help but admire his new talent. I never knew a bulgy body can move so well.
He whirls me around, and happily, I spin away from him when suddenly someone takes a hold of my wrist and slams my body ruthlessly to him.
"Oww.." I look up and meet the furious eyes of Andrew.
Is he mad?
"Can I have the honor to dance, Miss Will?" He asks through gritted teeth and before I am able to make any excuse, he pulls me recklessly to the dance floor.
His dance is nothing like a dance, he is deliberately squeezing my flesh with more force than he should use on me.
I keep frowning "You're hurting me."
"Wow, you can enjoy another person's dance with you but with your husband it's hurtful." His voice is sarcastic, making me frown further.
Has he looked at himself, what the hell is he doing?
"Enough, Andrew." Once more, he crushes my body into his and it hurts like a bitch as I snap immediately.
"Want to go back to your lover?" He asks in complete disgust.
How dare he…
His disgust makes me furious but it shatters my heart too. After three days I am seeing him and this is how he is with me, rude, ruthless, unapologetic.
Even my glam didn't satisfy him, which means all his words, all his confession at the terrace that night was merely an act. That's all.
I feel hurt to the core of my heart as I reply firmly to him, "He's not my lover."
Even in the dark, I could see the anger in his eyes. He always cares about his feelings. What about mine?
Is it a sin to dance with a friend?
Didn't he use to sleep with Mona even when he got married to me?
"So, then?" He raises his brow inquiring.
"He is my new boss, and an old friend from my college." I find myself explaining to him even when I feel furious at his reaction toward me.
"You're working for him?" He asks, puzzled.
"Yes," I nod my head firmly.
"I don't like him." He states while keeping his moves slow and bearable.
"I am not even asking for your opinion." I scoff.
"Tessa…" He takes a deep sigh as he looks down at me, "I can afford my family, you should give up this stubbornness." His words are sincere and so are his eyes.
"Give up?" I look at him suspiciously.
"This job, Aiden. You can work at my place. It's all yours." He mentions and I roll my eyes unhappily.
"You're forgetting that I am going to leave at one point. And to begin my life somewhere else I need money, Andrew." I remind him.
"Can't you just stop thinking about leaving, don't you have any love for Aaron?" He questions and I frown unhappily.
"You promised," I remind him feeling annoyed by his constant effort of changing my mind.
"I know." Instead of refusing, he says with a deep breath and I breathe a sigh of relief at least he still remembers his promise which means he won't break it, hopefully.
He starts to get more comfortable around me and his closeness is now making me uncomfortable. I look around and people are swaying while hugging each other, getting too intimate with their partners, the music around us is still soft, and the lights stay dim.
I look at Andrew, whose eyes are intently watching me, his anger gone, the coldness in his eyes changes from something else, something soft, something desirable, he leans down and I stumble back when his hands hold me firmly in place.
"You look beautiful," He compliments and instead of pulling his head back, he leans down further and my eyes widen in shock, my hair stands in panic.
Is he going to kiss me here? No way, there are so many people here, and what about Aiden?
I close my eyes silently praying for help from God, I don't want to become the center of attention here by taking a kiss from my ex or present husband.
CLICK
A loud voice sounded in the back and when I opened my eyes, the place had been lit up again. All the dancers stopped as the people around started to give a round of applause to Lady Steffani who was walking towards the dance floor with a young boy beside her.
Maybe, his grandson.
But with that distraction, Andrew let go of me and I hurriedly leave the dance floor and stand beside Aiden with a flushed face.
What is wrong with this man, just now he was going to expose our relationship to everyone.
How will I be able to leave this city after my real identity was revealed to the world?
This man did it intentionally, so then I won't be able to leave this place and live in peace with Cyrus.
But what about Aaron, Aaron is completely innocent in all this. Why does Aaron need to suffer in all this?
The thought depressed me and my heart started to sulk badly.
"Are you ok?" Aiden turns to me, giving me a light smile that seems comforting to me at the moment, "Yes." I replied.
"What was he talking to you about?" Aiden inquires lightly while his gaze points at Andrew.
"Ummm… Nothing…" I try to shrug it away but Aiden looks persistent to not let go, "Was it about the scholarship of yours?" He questions.
"Oh… Yeah, he was apologizing for that… It was a misunderstanding actually…" I make a fake excuse hoping that would stop him from inquiring about anything more.
"Oh…" He looked amused, "I was also wondering what is it he had against you." He says thoughtfully and I suppress the urge to roll my eyes, only if you know, Aiden.
"Want anything to drink?" Aiden asks politely as he makes his way towards the bar, "The same one you gave me before." I tell him and with a polite nod, he leaves my side while I stand alone watching all the unfamiliar faces and trying my best to not look in the direction of the familiar faces.
Another glass down, the drink Aiden had brought me, makes my body warm and I feel quite good in the unfamiliar atmosphere.
"Come, it's time for dinner." Aiden takes my hand and guides me towards a huge round table. He pulls my seat and I sit gracefully, and he takes a seat beside me, more people join us at the table, and there, the two familiar faces also join our tables and my heart rate quickens, I don't want them near me.
Soon, the waiter arrives with multiple dishes and places them on the table one by one and soon everyone starts indulging in food with light chatting while I stay quiet and try to focus on my food only.
"So, the woman beside you is your girlfriend Aiden?" A question pops and I look up to see the familiar green eyes, Anna Swan, the devil.
"No, She works for me, and is a good old friend," Aiden replies softly.
"Work?" Anna raises her brow quizzically.
"She is a designer, the new designing competition, I am going to participate in them this time, and I am sure, with Tessa, it's a win, win for me," Aiden says confidently with a wide grin on his face and I notice Anna trying hard to not roll her eyes and a muscle on Andrew's face twitches in disdain.
"Well, that makes you our competition, because for the last 4 years we have been winning the competition." Anna turns to Andrew while mentioning their achievement.
"Things could change, Miss Swan," Aiden replies in a polite manner.
"Agreed." Anna holds her glass up as she makes a toast, "For the new competition." and with that everyone on the table takes a sip of their drink and so do I. And just like that, everyone on the table starts to make toast and I get successful in finishing the whole glass of my juice before I am able to ask for another the waiter comes over and fills my glass self evidently.
As the dinner starts to end and people start to bid goodbye suddenly, my mind starts to burst with immense pain. With difficulty, I stand up and then turn to find a washroom but as I turn the corner I stumble and hold the corner of the wall tightly to stabilize myself.
My eyes got heavy, and my mind got dizzy.
"Tessa.." I hear a familiar voice around me.
"Uhmm.. Wash… room…" With difficulty, I utter a word and soon I feel a tight hold around my waist leading me the way and my vision starts to get clear a little.
Thankfully.
"Here." The man holds the door for me but it's difficult for me to move. I look up at the man, is he Andrew or Aiden? I couldn't identify. I raise my foot and as it touches the ground I feel a rush of heat inside my body prickling my skin weirdly as a low whimper escapes my lips, "Ahh.."
"Tessa." I hear an anxious cry, and grabbing onto something soft, I pull the man closer and soon my lips cover him as the heat rushes into my mind and then starts to travel into my whole body.
My mouth feels extremely dry and the man's mouth does wonder on me, it's a strange feeling I want to push this feeling away but at the same time, I feel a craving for the same feeling.
I don't know what's happening to me?
I think I am losing my mind !!
