Chapter 179 SMALL CELEBRATION

I look at the calendar, it's the day of my sweet wife's real birthday. 19th December.
I sigh helplessly, I have ordered her a cake to celebrate at her parent's home but Ann hasn't replied to me anything regarding Tessa's stay at her parent's home.
Even when it's been a while.
Sigh…
I think I need to pick up the cake on my way home and then secretly celebrate her birthday in our room but that won't make her happier than visiting her mother and then celebrating her birthday with her.
I was supposed to call Ann irrationally when I received her call by surprise, allowing me and Tessy to visit her parent's house. I was overjoyed by her permission, it was completely unexpected how she could approve my request so easily regarding Tessa without making any fuss.
Well, let's just consider myself lucky for one day.
After her call, I call my sweet Tessy and ask her to be ready.
I am going to give her a huge surprise and I am sure she is going to be happier this time.
After wrapping my work quickly, I left hurriedly, making Lillian stunned, and then reached the mansion. Tessa walks over to me as I open the car door with an excited smile on my face while she looks at me curiously.
"So, where are we going?" She asks once she is seated inside.
"It's a surprise," I tell her, and then handing her a blindfold I request her to cover her eyes. She keeps moving her head in order to get a clue but she couldn't. I try to stifle my laughter as I sped up to her parent's home.
I had already informed her mother and she should be waiting for us at the door as I had asked her.
When I parked the car outside their house, I noticed her mother standing at the gate with excited eyes looking for Tessa, Huh, motherly worries.
I get out of the car and give her a polite nod and then make a gesture of "Keep Silence" as I raise my finger to my lips and she nods with a huge grin.
I open Tessa's door and carefully help her to get out, she is huge now.
"Are we here?" She asks.
"Yes," I reply happily and then help her to take a few more steps finally I take off her blindfold.
BOOM
Tessa blinks for a moment and then gasps emotionally, "MOM"
She looks at me in disbelief and then again at her mother, when she realized that it is all real and I have really brought her to meet her mother, she rushed to her like a small child, although she couldn't run at the moment I could tell she is dying to reach her and then hug her.
They hug warmly, while her mother keeps a gentle smile and Tessa keeps sobbing like a miserable child.
I admire their loving bond and once we both are inside the house, her mother finally notices her huge belly and Tessa reveals with a smirk, "I am seven months pregnant, mom."
"It looks huge, dear." Her mother says and I couldn't agree more, indeed she is.
"Why haven't you told us the great news?" Her mother questions and Tessa turns to me, oh great.
"Ann doesn't want anyone to know yet. You know she is very careful with the child." I try to explain but deep inside I know she won't buy it and as expected she raised her brow to question further about it but then suddenly she stopped when she looked at Tessa, who was inwardly begging her to stop.
Sigh…
How could a mother and daughter communicate with their eyes?

I and Tessa then head upstairs to meet her brother, Cyril. I chatted with him for a while and then, making an excuse, I went down. The brother and sister need some alone time to talk. I can understand.
Her mother was cooking in the kitchen when I climbed down the stairs, "Oh, Andrew, do you need anything?" She asks when she saw me approaching her.
"Oh no, I am completely fine. How's Cyril's treatment going?" I ask her calmly.
Since I have closed his account I have no idea if Ann is still helping this little buddy or not.
"Great. He keeps falling sick though, but we are able to keep him stable with the medicines." She replies, her warm smile plastered on her face.
"I hope Tessa doesn't bother you a lot, You know she still acts like a child." Her mother says while looking concerned for her daughter.
The way she looks anxious for Tessa I could tell she has no idea of what mess her husband has created.
"Tessa is a good wife, I can tell you have raised her very well," I praised her and she gave me a satisfied smile, her eyes filled with joy and peace.
Just when I am supposed to ask about her cruel husband, my phone rang, it was the delivery man from the cake shop.
"The cake is here," I tell her mother with a wide grin, "Oh, Tessa's father is also here." She informs me and my mood immediately starts to sulk.
Well Done.
"I'll receive both then," I stopped her from going out, and like a good responsible son-in-law I made my way towards the door and found her father walking towards me absentmindedly but when he noticed my presence at the gate of his house, he stopped abruptly.
"Sir, you're here??" He exclaims and then rushes to me worriedly, I quickly close the door of his house, I don't want anyone to hear what we are going to discuss now.
"Where is Tessa? What happened to her?" He asks, looking anxious and I sneer in disdain.
"Hah, seriously, you do care for her?"
"She is my daughter, why wouldn't I?" He questions offensively and I scoff in response.
"Ann has given you a contract copy, I am here to collect that," I tell him straightly, because I know if I ask him about the contract papers he is going to refuse me immediately.
"Oh, but Miss Swan hasn't mentioned that to me," He said and then took out his phone to call Ann, I guess.
Stupid Man.
I immediately snatched the phone from his hand. "No need to call her. I am here, that should be enough reason to hand me back the contract." I told him firmly but he didn't budge.
His loyalty is f**king killing me and so is my Tessy.
"I still need to confirm with her," He says unbothered by my stern gaze on him.
"Fine… Go ahead but then you have to tell Tessa too about this contract." I told him and he paused for a moment, "I won't." He refuses firmly and I blurt out, impassively, "She is 7 months pregnant, and you know what Ann is going to do with her after the child."
BOOM
The news dropped on him like a bomb and he looked at me stunned with his pupils getting dark and wide. "My daughter… She… She's pregnant…" He gasps.
He looks emotional but I don't give a f**k. I need the papers from him now.
"If you hand me the papers it will help me to save Tessa, please." I literally beg him but that man is too cruel to listen to my plea.
"I can't break Miss Swan's trust," He says in a clipped voice and I go hell furious at him.
"So, you can betray your own daughter? Can't you see I am here to help her? Help me, so I could save her." I tell him in a desperate tone but he seems to be lost in emotional turmoil.
And there the delivery man enters interrupting our tense conversation.
"Your delivery, sir." I nod, and then take the cake from his hand by the time I am done with him. Tessa's father had already gone inside the house.

I take a few deep breaths trying to keep my calm. It's Tessa's birthday. I can't spoil it. I have to stay normal and happy. I'll handle her father later, for sure. The discussion isn't over at all.
I entered the house singing a Happy Birthday Song and soon everyone joined in. Tessa looked at all of us in shock. See, that's what has happened to her after pregnancy she has completely forgotten herself just like now she has forgotten her real birthday.
She cut the cake and fed the first piece to her dear father. That pisses me off completely and I am unable to keep my calm at all.
She noticed the sudden change in my mood and the way I kept glaring at her father in silence.
"What is it?" Tessa asks and finally I move my gaze away from her father and then look at her.
"What?"
"Why are you staring at my father?" She questions.
"Uhm... Father-in-law has something to tell you, right?" I look at her father with a raised brow.
Come on, bring me the papers or tell her the truth.
COUGH... COUGH…
Her father chokes on his food.
Expected.
"What is it, Dad?" Tessa asks anxiously. She looks at me with anxious eyes and then at her father. I am damn sure he won't reveal anything but at least this pressure would force him to hand me back the contract papers.
We waited patiently for him to speak.
"I was thinking of bringing you here after the baby, Tess... That's all." He comes out with another lie.
I snorted in my heart. Why don't you tell her that Ann is going to throw her out by herself? Doesn't he have a little mercy for Tessa in his heart?
