My baby keeps crying and I don't know how to calm him down. I keep looking at him helplessly not knowing what to do to calm him down, I rock him gently in my arms but he doesn't quiet down at all.
"Your baby seems to be hungry." A woman around 40 years old look at my son and points out.
I look at her with anxious eyes, hungry?
She then looks down at me and says meaningfully, "Feed your baby some milk."
Milk? I look down at myself and then finally get her point.
"Oh..." I sigh in understanding and then try to feed my son. On the first attempt, I fail miserably but thankfully after a few attempts, I get succeeded in feeding him milk.
A proud smile appears on my lips as my baby calms down and sleeps peacefully in my arms again.
It was a short flight, not a long one, thankfully and when we reach the destination, it was only then that I realize that I have landed in Chicago.
I had nothing with me, no luggage bag at all only a small handbag given by Ron.
As I walk outside, a man approaches me and I quickly take steps back cautiously but then he raises his phone showing him my picture that Ron had taken at the airport.
I sigh in relief and then walk towards him. "Please come, Miss."
The man takes me to a place that I don't know but I trust him because he is sent by Ron to me.
He takes me to a small apartment and hands me the keys to it. I thank him politely as he leaves.
I look around the semi-furnished apartment and then sit in the center of the living room with my baby in my arms.
"Finally, we're safe." I kiss his forehead lovingly.

The next day, I wake up to the loud cries of my baby, I think he is hungry again as I try to feed him but no, he looks uncomfortable and keeps twisting his little body while crying loudly.
WAA... WAA... WAA...
I feel like crying when the doorbell rings and I rush to the door with my baby in my arms.
"I have brought some..." The man who had picked me up last night appears at the door with lots of bags in his hands. I give him the way and he enters as he drops the bag to the ground.
"Sir Ron had instructed something for you to deliver on time... So, here are the things..." He says but I am too focused on my baby that I rarely look at him and the things he has brought.
"Miss, I think you should look at these things. It might help." He tells me thoughtfully and I peek at the bags.
I crouch down with my baby in my arms and then start taking out the things from the bag one by one.
I see pampers, wipes, milk powder, feeders, pacifiers, a few sets of clothes, a blanket, and a towel. There are also packs of baby necessities. I feel surprised to see all these things and again my heart feels warm as I think of Ron, he is so concerned about my child. May God bless him with good fortune.
I pray and then picking the pampers and wipes I walk inside the room and then change his diaper as I clean him nicely.
When I walk out with my son in my arms, the man is still in the living room waiting for me.
He stands up in attention as he looks at me approaching him, "My name is Sam. This is my contact number if you need anything, Miss."
He hands me a mobile phone that has his number already saved on it.
"I will come back in the evening for the house setting." He informs and then leaves.
I keep my son on a blanket as he stays awake, and then look at the things that Sam has brought as I start to keep things in a proper place.
My son cries again and takes all my attention immediately, I start playing with him and didn't even notice when the cloud gets dark and Sam comes back to help me in setting a few things in my new house.

6 Months Later
WAA... WAA... WAA...
My son as usual starts to cry when I put him in the stroller, he is always like that, he never likes to sit in the stroller but I have no choice but to keep him in it as I need to carry other things too.
I put the cap on his little head and he makes a cute face, I squeeze his cheek playfully and then step out of my house.
I push the stroller and we reach our first destination where I pick the first dog in the line, Yes, I don't have any degree neither I am qualified for any job so I have started to walk people's dogs in the morning. I never knew that I would be that good at handling dogs and Cyrus loves the dogs too.
As soon as the dog comes out Cyrus starts to jump with happiness, he is 6 months old and very mischievous now.
I have named him Cyrus which means "SUN" yes he is the sun in my dark life and I am blessed to have him in my life all thanks to Ron who appears as an angel in my life.
The name Cyrus reminds me of Cyril and I hope he would be doing fine in Arvada although I am disappointed in my father but I still do care for Cyril. He was not at fault at all.
I pick 12 dogs in total and then we all head to the nearest park to our house.
After roaming for an hour we head back to our home and then in the evening, I head to the flower boutique where I had started to work part-time.
I earn little money but I am happy with it. Although, Ron keeps sending me money every month but I don't use it. I always keep them aside saving them as his belongings that I will return to him one day for sure.

4 years Later
"So, which day have you selected?" Miss Maria asks me bringing me back from my thoughts.
"Uhmm... I don't know." I shrug as I respond to her.
"Oh dear, You must select a date fast, Cyrus is inviting every person who steps into the shop." Miss Maria informs me and I grin.
Yeah, Cyrus has been very excited about his birthday, and I as his mother don't even know about his birth date at all. Before it was easy to coax him and celebrate the birthday any day but now as he has grown up he keeps asking me the date and I am still unsure about the exact date.
I don't want to remind all those ungrateful things that happened to me when he was born. I had never looked back at my past once since I arrived here.
That past would always stay in the past.
"How about 24th?" Miss Maria suggests and I flinch in discomfort as that sinister day of 24 December reminds me of an awful part of my life. I won't celebrate my son's birthday on the day when his cruel father was born, no, never.
"25 would be fine... We'll celebrate Christmas and his birthday together." I tell her firmly and she nods in agreement. "Yeah, that would be great."

"Happy Birthday To You,
Happy Birthday To You,
Happy Birthday, Dear Cyrus,
Happy Birthday To You."
Everyone sings in unison, this is the first time I am celebrating Cyrus's birthday with a bunch of people, Cyrus is super excited standing on a little stool in order to reach the table to cut his cake.
I have ordered a car-shaped cake for him, he adores cars, especially the bright red color sports car, he is even wearing a T-shirt that has a car drawn on it.
Everybody claps their hands and he too claps excitedly as he blows the four candles on the cake which makes me smile.
As I look at his adorable smile, it reminds me of his ungrateful father but then I quickly shake away his thought. He doesn't deserve to be a father.
"What do you wish for, Cyrus?" I ask as I kiss his chubby cheeks.
"A father, mommy." He replies and I look at him, stunned.
"Cyrus," I take a deep sigh as I hold him up in my arms and then start explaining to him, gently, "Your father has gone to a different world, he is not going to come back."
I tell him, I don't want him to keep a hope that one day his would father would appear in his life as a knight and takes him in his embrace.
No, his father is not a savior, nor a good person, he is a liar and a selfish person. I will never let my son go back and not even let him think about him.
He makes a stupid face as he asks, "Which world, mommy?"
"It is a world, far far away from here," I tell him as I make a gesture with my hand as though explaining to him how far his father is.
"Oh, mommy." Cyrus sighed while making a sad face and I couldn't help but chuckle at his cuteness.
"Cyrus, don't you want your cake?" Miss Maria hurries over us and asks Cyrus.
After listening about his cake, Cyrus forgets about everything and then rushes back with Miss Maria to get his cake.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I see his small legs running toward the table.
HAHAHA...
When I arrived here I had never thought that I would be able to laugh wholeheartedly after what I had witnessed in my past but thankfully Cyrus made me forget about everything in my life and I am grateful for it.

The new year begins happily for us, I take Cyrus to the market where he buys a few chocolates, candies, and a small bucket of ice cream for himself. I try to take the bags from his hand but he insists on carrying his things on his own. He is like a little fat man carrying his weight.
I try to stifle my laugh all the way. As we enter the building's compound, I see an expensive car parked in the parking lot, I frown, in the last 4 years, I have never seen such an expensive car parked here.
I was supposed to walk towards the stair when the car's door opens and a man gets off. I stop abruptly, shocked to the core as I see the familiar face in front of me, Cyrus bump into my back and squeal, "Ahh... Mommy."
I immediately shield his little body with mine and then look at the man, terrified.
"Can we talk for a second?" The man asks and I feel myself spinning.
No... This can't be true. How could Andrew reach us? And why is he back?
