Chapter 97 BIRTHDAY IN SAME WEEK

1664words
"Thank you very much," I hold Andrew's hand as I thank him wholeheartedly.

I had spent a good time at my parent's house and also he remembers my birthday, How? I never told him my real birthdate.

As I was sitting in a daze when my husband puts an envelope in my lap, "Your birthday gift." He says and I look down in surprise.

I raise my brows and then look at me, he gives me a mischievous grin, and then I rip open the envelope quite carelessly.

He chuckles at my behavior and what I see inside is a plane ticket to the USA.

I look at him and ask with a blank mind. "What is it?"

"It's a ticket, you are going to the USA." He says, his tone back to his serious one.

"Why?" I raise my brows.

"For a vacation." He replies.

"But, I don't think I am allowed to travel it's nearly 32 weeks now." I remind him.

"Don't worry, you will fly through a private jet. I have talked about everything in detail. So, don't worry. I have even managed a Gynae for you, there." He says meaningfully and I go speechless at his preparation.

"What about Ann? She has my all reports and my meds." I tell him and I see him flinching or maybe it's just an illusion.

"We'll tell her later.." He says lightly and I look at him in panic, "No, don't tell me that you are again going to hide something from Ann."

"Tessy, Don't argue and just listen to what I am saying. You have to go." He pressures the words and I snap, impulsively, "No, Ann loves the child and me. I can't leave like this."

"And I love you, so you have to leave." He snaps back at me and for a moment we both get stunned by each other's loud tone and reaction.

"Tessy, please," Andrew says emotionally and he holds the steering wheel so tightly that I could see his knuckles turning white.

I don't understand what's wrong with him, there must be some issue and I think we all should solve it together like family instead of running away from each other.

"I can't, hubby. If there's something wrong then we should talk about it with Ann. She loves me a lot, I am sure everything will get better soon." I try to reason with him but he didn't say anything.

He purses his lips and we reach the mansion. Although he looks unsatisfied with my decision still he helps me to walk inside the mansion and then He leaves.

I feel quite anxious about all the things that happened and he said in the car.

I try to think about that matter but I couldn't find any valid reason to worry about it. Maybe Andrew wants a little alone time to sort out the things.

Maybe it's difficult for Ann to accept my constant presence in his life that is why they both are acting little rationally, what else I can think of except this reason.

In the evening, I go down and sit in the kitchen while Miss Celine cooks, I try to help her but she always refuses my help politely so instead of helping her I just watch and talk.

"How was your time spent in your parent's house, Miss?" Miss Celine asks politely.

"It was good," I tell her, I couldn't help but grin as I remember the pleasant time in my parent's house.

"Oh, I completely forget to wish you your birthday. Happy belated birthday." Miss Celine wishes me gently and I politely thank her back.

"How do you know?" I ask her in a light tone.

"Sir Andrew told me, who else." She tells me and I blush from the revelation.

"What a month, you both husband and wife have a birthday in the same week." She murmurs and I look at her in surprise.

"Andrew's birthday?" I ask in doubt.

"Yes, 24th of this month," She says calmly.

"Hmmm... So is there going to be a celebration?" I ask her thoughtfully.

"Uhmm... Celebration..." Miss Celine looks hesitant and as she is supposed to speak further she stops and her eyes get glued to the door that is behind me.

I look at her and then following her gaze I turn to find Ann at the door.

"Ann.." I greet her happily as I hug her.

She hugs me back gently, "How is the baby?" She asks.

"Absolutely fine. The child moves a lot, Ann... I don't think it ever sleeps." Ann laughs at my words and then as usual touch my belly to feel the child.

"See... It knows my touch." Ann says happily as the child starts to move as soon as she touches my belly.

"Yeah." I agree with her.

Andrew stays busy at his work and didn't accompany me and Ann to dinner. After dinner, Ann takes me to the backyard so I could walk. The doctor says a little walk is good after the food. "How's Cyril?" Ann asks me, suddenly.

"He's good." I tell her and then remembering his words I tell Ann excitedly, "You know, Cyril is planning the child's name, I have told him to think of two names, one for the boy and one for the girl."

Ann pauses and then looks at me, "But I have already decided the child's name."

BOOM

She says firmly and I look at her dumbfounded.

The name has been selected, what?

"Oh..." I sigh in disappointment, "So, what's the name?" I ask her.

"I'll tell the name only when I'll see the child." She says and a trace of joy layers on her face as she mentions the child.

"Ok," I say in a clipped tone what else I could say.

I look away and then continue my walk, while my heart fills with slight sadness. What kind of mother am I? I have no right to anything that belongs to my child. I hope I won't lose my mind before I deliver my child.

The voice of the car's engine takes my attention and so as Ann's.

"Here comes the father." She says happily and then walks towards his car, Andrew gets off the car and hugs Ann warmly, I sigh as I look at the strong bond between brother and sister, I couldn't help but think about Cyril's excited face as he wanted to name my child and then look down bitterly.

"Hey, I am home." My husband approaches me and I smile taking his laptop bag from his hand.

"Hey."

"What were you both talking about?" He asks curiously.

"Nothing. Ann has already selected the name for our child." I tell him and he looks completely unbothered by this.

"Not anything else?" He asks suspiciously and I roll my eyes inwardly, "No."

He takes a long sigh of relief and then we walk inside. He goes to the washroom for a shower as I go down to bring him dinner, I look at Miss Celine with a dull face and she stops what she was supposed to say to me.

I don't even ponder on what she was going to say as I am already in low spirit because of Ann's revelation and then my husband's cold response to it.

Days spent by and on my husband's birthday I decided to bake a cake for him, I expect a celebration for him but no the things starts as usual and Ann and Andrew leaves for the office at the same time as they use to leave on daily basis.

Maybe he also forgets his birthday, just like me, I thought.

I enter the kitchen and start preparing the batter for the cake, Miss Celine isn't in the kitchen and it takes me quite more time to find the ingredients I needed.

I just put my batter in the oven to bake when Miss Celine enters and looks stunned to see me inside the kitchen.

"I am baking a cake..." I tell her with a huge smile on my face and she smiles back.

"For my husband's birthday," I added and her smile fades immediately.

"Miss, I want to tell you.." She begins and my stomach growls.

"Oh... I think the child is hungry, again." I shrug apologetically and Miss Celine quickly starts to prepare food for me to eat.

I take the bowl from her hand and go back to my room. I had asked her to watch my cake so I could calmly eat my food in my room, and she obliged as usual.

I return late because I had taken a nap, yes, these days sleep could come at any time. I don't have a proper routine at all.

"Oh... I am so sorry, I took a nap," I tell Miss Celine hurriedly as I look for my cake.

The cake has baked well, and then I start to assemble my cake. Miss Celine watches me as I work on my cake's decoration carefully.

I have baked a huge three-layer vanilla cake, I hope Andrew likes it, he is always after tiramisu cake I hope this time he will like the different taste.

I ask Miss Celine to light the candles in the living room as I didn't like her hovering me around, she leaves with a hesitant face but I ignore her.

I hear the car's engine voice and taking the cake I walk out of the kitchen, and the whole living room lights up brightly I see a young woman with Miss Celine who is helping her in lighting the candles.

They have vanilla scent and it fills the atmosphere pretty quickly.

I hear footsteps and my lips curve up as I see my husband approaching, he pauses, looking blankly at me and before I could sing the song, Ann strides towards me, and then very rudely she throws the cake away from my hand.
