My fist are on a tight ball as we slowly get closer to God Diante's chamber. I don't care if she's a woman. The thought that she killed the God of Clasiffe is an enough reason for me to loathe her.
"Slow down," he whispered. I scowled at him. Why would I? That woman might have time to escape if we don't get there fast. "Golden, I'm serious. Calm your fucking self. We're not sure if she's the real culprit yet." His eyes are burning in so much frustration.
His grip on my wrist tightened when I tried to let go.
"Fine!" I blurted silently. He heaved a sigh and continued walking. I'm just following him behind like a good girl I am.
I didn't know I have this impulsive side. It's like as if I couldn't stopped myself from thinking violent thoughts like punching that woman to death. I just can't.
My heart skipped a beat when we're finally in front of the half opened door. Damon glanced at me. I lifted my head to look at him. His eyes are telling that I shouldn't do anything stupid, so I just rolled my eyes as a response.
He carefully pushed the door. My eyed widened when it created a loud creaking sound. The woman gasped inside. I yanked my wrist off Damon and barge in.
God Diante's furnitures are all covered with white clothes, but what shook me the most is the familiar sandals on the floor.
"Aghhh! Rghhh!"
What's that? A woman gasping. I looked around the room to see nothing, but furnitures. I heard Damon chasing after me. My eyes diverted on the ceiling and my eyes grew big when I saw the woman hanging.
"Lift her up!" he yelled. I nervously took the chair that she used and lift her legs up. She passed out already, but we can still revive her. "Give her to me." Damon used his height to cut the rope with his little knife and the woman fell in his arms.
I froze when I saw the woman's face.
"A—Aluncina?"
*****
I don't know how and when, but I found myself sitting in front of Aluncina inside the Tree Clinic. She completely passed out, but she had a pulse. We brought her here to get here checked.
Damon went put for a while to get us something to eat. It's already morning and I still can't believe that I found Aluncina in God Diante's chamber.
What is she doing in there?
We spent weeks looking for her. I didn't know that the only way we can summon her is through God Diante's death.
My eyes widened when I saw her fingers moving. She's awake!
"M—Miss Puff!" I called nervously. She told me that she'll get some herbal plants for a second, but she hasn't come back yet. What do I do?
"Hmmm," she moaned. I reached for her hand. Will she be okay?
"H—Hey! It's me Golden. Do you still remember me?" I asked her hald conscious state. She slowly opened her eyes at scanned the room. "Aluncina?" I called again. Her eyes landed on me and she gasped when she realizes who's in front of her.
"G—Golden!"
My eyes twinkled when she suddenly pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around her too. I missed her so bad. What the hell happened to her?
I pulled myself away from her. She's still wearing the soiled clothes she has. Her face is a lot cleaner now because of all my wiping. How did she get into this state?
"I—I thought they caught you. They said they caught you. Diante died because they caught you," she said hysterically. My brows furrowed. Aluncina started to shake and turn her head from side to side like as if someone's watching her.
"N—No! That's not true. Nobody caught me. I've been living well in here," I replied. She didn't answer and just kept on glancing around. Her hands are on her ears. Why is she acting like this?
"Oh? She's awake."
I turned my head to see Miss Puff with her big basket that's almost as big as her. She looked at Aluncina with her glasses on the tip of her long nose. I winced when her eyes landed on me.
"Get me some hot water," she said. I didn't asked any further and just followed her.
I was on my way to get hot water when I saw Damon rushing into me. Fear is visible in his eyes. His gasping for air as he caught me in his big arms.
"W—What happened?" I asked confusedly. He didn't answer and just kiss the top of my head.
What's going on?
"Aluncina is awake already. Miss Puff asked me to get some hot water—" He cut me off.
"Miss Puff is the one who killed Diante," he revealed. My brows arched from what he said. His face is so serious you'll really think he's saying the truth. He's kidding, right?
"That can't be," I mumbled.
"Miss Puff is God Diante's last visitor. She went there with claw knives that can only be bought in Mythonia Kingdom. Her brother is a Mythos and is the right hand of Mythonia Kingdom's current God," he added. My legs starts to get weak.
B—But I left Aluncina with her.
"Aluncina witnessed it."
My lips parted. We have to save her! I tried to open my mouth and speak, but no words came out of my mouth. Damon supported my waist.
I weakly pointed the Tree Clinic. Why can't I feel my legs? T—This is not normal.
"G—Golden? Golden!"
That's the last thing I heard before everything went black. I can hear noises, but no light is crossing my eyes.
What is happening to me?
—Flashback—
"Baby, I'll go and get something to eat. Don't worry yourself too much, hmm? She'll wake up soon," he said. I smiled when I felt his warm kiss on my forehead.
I watched him leave the room. This is not the kind of reunion I'm expecting. Aluncina is laying on the bed and is passed out. The trace of rope is still visible on her neck.
Why would she try to kill herself in God Diante's chamber?
"She'll be okay, right?" I asked worriedly to the busy nurse. She took out dry leaves in the drawer and grind it using a mortar and pestle.
She glanced at me and nodded. "She lost air, but because you were quick enough to save her, she didn't completely close her airway," she answered. I sighed in relief. My heart is still aching from the painful scenario.
I don't think I can forget that memory of her trying to kill herself with a rope.
"Here. I made you a tea. This is Jasmine Tea. It's good for anxiousness," she said and handed me a cute cup. This is as big as a shot bottle in the club I used to worked from.
"Thank you," I said politely and drank the cup in front of her. It's an etiquette. She smiled in satisfaction.
"I'll leave the tea here. Get some more if you want. I'll have to leave to get some herbal plants that she will need," she said and grabbed her basket. I nodded hesitantly.
What is she wakes up and she's not here? What will I do?
"Make sure to not give her a drink. She'll have to drink the tea I will made for her first before anything else," she reminded. A unknown emotion crossed her eyes, but I ignored it.
I looked at the sleeping woman in front of me. She's my only left family.
I hope you wake up soon.
—End of Flashback—
S—She poisoned me!
