Chapter 89

I'm still shocked about what happened. Morning came and we're already back to the castle. Damon went to God Hlaford to tell him what happened. I still can't believe what I just saw. I want to erase that memory of him. His lifeless body bathing in his own blood.
I squeezed my eyes shut. I whimpered while trying to hold my sobs. I've been cying for so long already. I can't.
"Hey?" Elaine calls. I bowed my head gently and wiped the tears escaping from my eyes.
Gab and Elaine are here. News spread like fire and the entire Spheria knew about it immediately. There were various reactions. I even hear some saying that Damon and I killed Diante.
That's why Damon asked them to accompany me while he's gone. He doesn't want me to feel alone.
"You should, at least, try this." She shows me a bowl of salad that she claims to be her own recipe. "You know me, Golden. I just recently learned that I can control leaves too. You should try these. I told them to taste good," she jokes.
I smiled shortly. I do appreciate his effort, but I'm not strong enough to accept the fact that he's gone.
"You shouldn't affect yourself so much. Do you think God Diante would like to see how you're acting right now?" Gab said. I looked at him. He can read my mind. I heaved a deep sigh. He's right, but that doesn't heal the wound in my heart.
He's the closest God to Damon and I. He helped us enhanced our skills. He taught us how to be better. He was more than just a God to us. He was a friend.
And now he's gone.
I lifted my head when I heard the door open. Damon enters the room. He looks at me with his long face.
He walked towards me. My eyes watered when he cups my face. I looked directly in his eyes. They're full of pain, but it doesn't show. I know he's hurting too and seeing him acting strong and okay for me pains me more.
"We'll give you some privacy," Gab says. He grabs Elaine and start to walk out of the door while Elaine is strangling.
"What? Wait? Why?" she asked. Gab didn't answer and just pulled her out of the room. As soon as we hear the door shut, Damon and I looked at each others' eyes.
"What happened?" I asked him. He lets go of my face and sat beside me. His deep sigh made me feel anxious. I'm afraid to hear what he's going to day, but I want to know what happened to Diante too. He holds my hand.
"God Hlaford blessed an investigation and they found out the truth. Our assumption is correct. Diante was murdered," he said in a low voice. My heart clenched.
"W-Who would... Would do that to him? He was such a nice God," I cried. His grip on my hand tightens. I bowed my head and cry.
"The Conyans said that the crime happened in such a short amount of time and there's a possibility that two or more menaces killed him. The flower of Guinevere was found in his drink. He was first poisoned and then killed."
His detailed story made me more angry inside. What did they want from him? WHy did they have to kill him?
"Baby, you have to be strong. There's a huge possibility that the Wizardus killed him. We have to avenge him," he says. I lifted my head and look at him straight in the eyes. "The flower of Guinevere can only be found in Wizarnia kingdom." My eyes turned dark from what he said.
Those Wizardus! I'll make sure to catch the culprit no matter what.

The day ended quickly than what we anticipated. The castle felt more gloomy than ever. Who wouldn't know a joyful God like Diante? I'm sure everyone is affected especially the higher ups.
We're scheduled to go to the Tree Clinic. Hlaford wanted to make sure that we're alright.
Miss Puff did a lot of checking to us especially to Damon. She said he has a lot of lumps and colds in his body that needs to be fixed. That's why I'm in here and looking after him while the herbal treatments are melting on his body.
I'm just sitting here beside him and enjoying my cup of green juice that taste disgusting by the way.
"Actually, Travis went to see me. He asked me if you're okay," he said. My brows arched. It has been a long time since we had a talk. I wonder what he's up to now.
"I'm glad you didn't reacted negatively," I replied. I put my glass on the table and chuckled. Damon rolled his eyes jokingly. I've been using that to pick him.
"You knew that I'm the jealous type, but you always bring yourself closer to guys," he huffed. I chuckled.
'Oh, really? How do you say so?" I challenged. He turned his head to look at me. His serious face wipes the smirk on my face. "What?" I asked. He gave me a weak smile.
"You were in Steve's chamber," I froze. "I could here what you were talking about, but I wanted to control myself and not cause a scene. I knew you wouldn't like it." He forced a sweet smile. Jealousy crossed his handsome face swiftly.
Guilt devours me. I thought he didn't care about me. But the truth was he's trying to be a better parsen for me.
"I'm sorry," is all I managed to say. He chuckled using his deep voice and hold my hand. "You should have told me still though. I didn't know I was already hurting you," I told him.
"What's the point then? Hahah! I was trying to make you feel less suffocated of me. I'm sure that there are times where you feel like you want to break up with me. I don't want you thinking those things," he confessed. I pouted my lips. Why is he being like this? He's making me cry.
"Shut up," I cried. He chuckled and wipes the falling liquids on my face. He was about to pull me for a kiss when Miss Puff suddenly pops out of nowhere. We automatically got off on each other's faces.
"Are the two of you doing all right?" she asked. Her puffy skirt starts to make clanking sounds as she walks towards the bed. Damon and I smiled at each other.
"Yes, Miss Puff."
She checks the leaves on Damon's body. Her glasses are flashing as she opens it one by one.
"Hmmm. This looks okay. You can go once this one right here turns pink," she says and pointed a yellow leaf on his chest. I stared at it for a few seconds before nodding my head.
We still need to chill in here.
I watched her walk out of the room with her clanking skirt. Damon played my hands as we kill the time by staring and smiling at each other. When I finally had the courage to speak, I talk to him about what I noticed on Miss Puff. I was about to ask him something when he said something that made both of my brows raised.
"Did you noticed the stain on her skirt?" he asked. I nodded my head slowly.
"I was going to ask you that," I told him. His brows furrowed.
"Wasn't it red?" he asked again. My brows arched. I thought her clothes were just stained by soil because she deals with herbal plants, right? But I heard that Miss Puff is a perfectionist and she wants to be clean all the time.
"Are you suspecting her?" I asked with no hesitation. He cleared his voice and glance at the door and back to me.
"I'm not sure, but it's not normal for a nurse like her to have dirt in her clothes. She's known from being clean all the time."
