Chapter 76

Golden's POV

"What did you do to him?" I asked. The wolf is still unconscious. I think he belongs to the Mythonia Kingdom. Diante decided to stay a bit longer. I don't know why but I kind of like his idea. I want to talk to this wolf. I never had a chance to meet the other races before. If ever, I'd like to hear their version of the story.

We're still here on the Exidus. That's what they call this place.

Damon is beside me and Diante is on the opposite side with the wolf.

"I just stunned him. Nothing serious. Wolves tend to fight unfamiliar creatures so you can call that an advanced self defense?" he justified. I forced a smile.

I didn't like the idea. We're not even sure yet if he really came here to cause chaos. This wolf looks so innocent and pure. Or maybe I just like dogs in general?

"We should go," Damon mumbles. I turned my body to him. He's been glancing around ever since Diante caught the wolf. He's obviously fully alerted but nothing's happening anyway. "Time is running. We have to keep going now." His tone is serious.

He's right. We can't stay here any longer. God Diante is so afraid to open the portal because it takes time to close and some might try to leave. He's dead once that happened.

The God of Classife sighed deeply. He glanced at the sleeping wolf beside him and nodded his head.

"Fine. I'll open the portal."

My lips curved into a smile. I'm such a weirdo. Now I'm getting all excited to leave and go back to the human world. It's nice to be mortal too, you know?

You tend to appreciate small and simple things more.

The tall and big God stands up and positions himself in front of a huge tree. Their almost the same height. My brows arched when he turned to look at us.

"Mind if I covered your ears?" he asked. I pouted my lips and looked at Damon. He smiled and nod his head. I landed my eyes back to Diante and shake my head.

"Nope."

He raised his hand and I flinched when my ears began to fold itself like a leaf.

What the hell. I can't hear anything. That's cool. I looked at Damon amusedly. He looks cute when his ears are fold. He looks like a submissive dragon. Lmao.

I glanced at Diante and he's already chanting something that we obviously can't hear anymore. From what I heard, it's a spell that only Gods and Goddesses know. It can't be shared to young Vortans like us. It's a sacred spell.

I also heard about this one forbidden spell. It's what my father used to saved me from danger. From the name itself, it's forbidden. It was said that the last Vortan who tried to use the spell lost his sanity. Well he shouldn't have done that from the start.

It's just a rumor anyway.

My pupils dilated when a small light suddenly appears in the body of the tree. It started small just like a dot and eventually it got bigger.

It's purple in color and is spinning like our milky way galaxy.

I smiled when I felt my ears going back to its proper place. My brows furrowed when I heard a strange sound. It's so strange I can't find words to describe it.

"Can you hear that?" I whispered to Damon. He nodded his head.

"There's nothing to worry about. It's just Tricia." Diante answered the question I have in mind. But who's Tricia? Damon and I gave him a confused look. He arched his brows and snapped his finger like he has forgotten to introduced us to someone.

"You see this huge tree?" He looks at the tree beside him where the portal is linked. "This is Tricia. It's a made up name. It sings well so I wanted to give it a name," he said and smiled. I nodded my head. I guess he'os right. But why?

"Why does it sing? Is it cursed?" Damon asked. I nodded my head to support his question.

"Oh no! Tricia is considered a gateway in Vortaxia and our ancestors believed that our way to a new world should be a source of fortune," He smiled. "and so they decided to give Tricia capability to speak its mind. I believed it's taught in human school." He looked at me.

I pouted my lips and looked at Damon asking for help. I did well in school but I'm not really ready for a surprise recitation.

"Plants make sounds. But plants in our world are way more magical, of course. They don't just make sounds. They sing," he said proudly. That's cool.

Even a plant can sing so what happened to me?

"Both of you should get going now," he said and looked at the glowing portal.

Okay. This is it. There's no turning back Golden. Let's have a short vacation in your hometown.

I smiled when Damon lend his hand to me. I accepted it with all my heart and follow him to the portal. Our hands were intertwined as Diante said his final words.

"Call for my name and I'll hear you." He smiled.

Damon and I made our bows for he is a God of Speria. He just chuckled and let us do what we have to do.

Damon entered first. He's still showing but half of his body is already on the other side of the portal. I scanned the place for the last time before accepting his hand. I closed my eyes and let the warmth of the portal devour me.

I see the place glowing even if my eyes are closed and it vanished.

"We're here. You can open your eyes now," he whispers. I opened my eyes slowly and I gasped when I saw my room. It hasn't changed since the last time I saw it. I scanned my room with my eyes round and big.

"My suitcase!" I chirped. Damon was right. It's still here. It was left behind because Vortaxia doesn't accept human inventions.

The creased that we had left on the bed since the day we left still there.

"This is cool," I mumbled. My eyes landed on the closed window. The curtain is covering the vieww from outside but I can tell that it's day time.

And it's very hot.

"Is it summer?" I asked him. He walked to the bed and sit. Damon shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know. Maybe?" He lay flat on the bed and close his eyes like he's about to sleep. "We're suppose to stay here till the portal closes," he mumbles.

Oh! Yeah, I almost forgot about that. Just like Diante, we're suppose to wait for the portal to close because some people might see it. Elaine told me that humans have no capability to see what we see but we're just being careful.

We don't want to cause chaos in the human world. They're not ready for it.

"Wait!" I blurted. Damon opened his eyes and look at me confusedly. He raised his brows.

"What's wrong?" he mouthed.

"What if Tanya sees me? I've been gone for months. She'll suspect me," I told him nervously. He smiled and shake his head.

"I left a note for her. So don't worry," he said and went back to his fake sleeping. A note? What does that supposed to mean?

We stayed there for like three minutes. He was just fake sleeping while I check my stuffs. Tanya knows where I hide my keys but surprisingly, it seemed like she didn't bother checking me inside. What if I'm dead? Tsk.

"The portal is flickering," he said. I landed my eyes on the portal and he's right. It looks like a vanity mirror with dying lights now.

I was about go back to my business when something came out of the portal. I winced when it landed on me.

The wolf!

I pushed him away in an instant and he landed in the corner of the room smashing my beautiful curtains.

Damn it! That's expensive and I only got because it's on sale.

Damon blocked himself to me and my eyes turned small when blue fire appeared on his palm.

"What the hell are you doing here?" he blurted. The wolf looked at us and didn't answer. He glanced at my close window and my eyes widened when he jumped out.

Breaking it into tiny shattered pieces.
