One deep sigh and I closed my eyes as Damon lifted my body to the air. I groped the rope tightly and put my feet on the rocks.
"Climbing time," I whispered to myself.
I start to climb my way up to the hole. The rocks are a little slippery but I didn't mind it. Every step that slips is another trial from my other foot.
A little bit more and...
"Haghh!" I groaned and put my kegs up to the hole. I didn't have to put effort in seeing the inside of the cave. If it weren't for this hole, this place would be a complete jet black darkness.
"Are you okay?" Damon asked from below. I turned to look at him. He has his arm rested in his forehead while trying to look at me despite the bright rays of the sun.
"Yeah!" I answered back in a loud voice. My hands automatically went to the rope tightly tied in my waist and take it off. I adjusted in my small space for a second before throwing the rope to him. "Careful!" I reminded Damon. He just winked at me.
I glanced at the cave again. It's so quiet. I can already tell just by staring at it from here that there's something mysterious going on inside.
"Baby."
I almost fall myself to death when Damon whispered in my left ear. "Careful!" he blurted. Good thing that his reflexes are fast. He was able to hold me immediately.
"I'll go down first. I will catch you, okay?" he says. I just nodded. I watched him slide himself to the hole. I thought he wouldn't fit but he did. He's good.
I gave him a quick kiss in the lips first before letting him jump. He's strong enough to handle the height of the entrance. But still… Who knows what's below there?
I grabbed the jar of fireflies in my small bag. It's not enough to light the cave but I managed to see hints of crystals and different forms of rocks.
"Baby I'm already down below," I heard him say. My jaw clenched. Okay… He's going to catch me, right? There's nothing to be worried about.
"Light yourself! I'll jump down," I answered.
I was about to throw my body when he said something that made my brows furrowed.
"Wait up! I'm not jumping yet. I'm stuck."
What? But he just said that he's already down below.
"Okay!" I answered back. I looked at the inside of the cave again. It's still dark. I glanced below when something lights up. And there I saw Damon looking at me waiting for me to jump.
"Baby?" he calls. "I've been calling you. Are you okay?" he asked. i nodded confusedly at him. He's been calling me?
"Y—Yeah! I'll jump now," I told him. He smiled and extended his hands ready to catch me. "Dear God Gaviel!" I whispered before closing my eyes and throwing myself.
"Got you!" he groaned.
I chuckled. He put me down carefully. I glanced around the dark place. "This jar is not helping," I told him. He looks at the caged fireflies I'm holding. He gave me a sweet smile.
"Too bad we've got no flashlights here, huh?" he slurs and smirked. I just rolled my eyes. "Here. Hold this for me baby." He took out a torch in his bag.
Oh. How did that fit inside.
"Move aside."
My eyes widened when he suddenly blew fire to the torch. It immediately lights up. The whole place brightens and I almost drop my jaw to the ground when I saw the inside of the cave clearly. This place is magical!
"This is unexpected," I mumbled.
The rocks are so shiny that it reflects our reflection. We looked like we're filled with mirrors. We can see our reflection everywhere. This is enchanting. Everything we do is getting mimicked by these copycats.
I was expecting the cave to be much bigger and deeper but it is not. This feels like a room. But since the darkness is getting reflected by these rocks, It looks like an infinite place that you can never find a way out.
My eyes landed on a small structure placed in the middle of the cave. Its bloody red color will immediately catch your attention. This is it! This is what we need!
"Damon! Look there," I told him and pointed the well. "It is bloody red, right? This is what Fiscio wanted to get. We need to take that out as soon as possible." My eyes are sparkling in so much enthusiasm. This was easy.
But how can we possibly take that stone structure out of here. There's only a small hole that van barely fit two people. I'm sure that this won't fit no matter how we try our best.
"No. I feel like there's something sketchy going on," he contradicted. He looked around the place. The mirrors are still mimicking our every move. What does he mean by the word sketchy?
We have no time.
"Damon let's just find a way out of here before something came out. We just need to enlarge that hole so that we could fit this entire thing out," I instructed. He's still glancing around like he's trying to see something or catching someone. But all he see is our reflections.
"Let's hurry!" I told him and start to walk to the well. It's so red and like I would mistaken it as blood. I heard his footsteps following me from behind.
I took quick glimpse inside the well. I raised my torch to see the content inside and my eyes widened when I saw dead bodies.
"Oh my god!"
I immediately pulled myself away from the well. No!
My body flinched when I felt Damon's body at my back. I turned around to hug him. "There are bodies inside!" I told him like a scared cat. He pulled me away from him gently.
I glanced at his face and I froze when I saw his eyes.
They are pitch plack.
"D—Damon?" He didn't answer. All of the blood inside my head poured down in my body when he smirked diabolically.
He's not Damon. He's one of the reflections in the mirror!
I wasn't able to give myself a reaction when he raised his hand to push me on the well. I watched in horror as he took a glimpse of me as I fall inside the well together with the dead bodies.
"No! Ahhhh!" I screamed so loud that it almost break my own ears. This can't be happening. No! No!
The flame in my torch disappears as I fell down harshly deep down. I trembled so hard. My body is shaking as I turn to look at the dead bodies beside me.
Oh my god.
The bodies of the people who came here!
