A smile is plastered on my face as we descended to the ground. I did not care about their mixed reactions. All I care about is my parsen. My beautiful parsen.
Happiness fills my core.
I am very happy to finally see his dragon form.
"What in a world is a dragon doing in here?!" A man stands up from the crowd. He's throwing us a adeathly glare. A few Chosens take his side and they started gossiping loudly.
"Grghhh!" Damon snarled. I lifted my slended arms to caress him. He's scared and I do not want that.
"Shhh... I'm here," I whispered to him. His forehead creased but I know that he feels my comfort.
"Silence!"
All of them shut their mouths in a snap. I looked at the floating podium above. Strips of gold surrounded the marble piece of mineral. It's extravagant.
On the platform is the God of Spheria, Hlaford. His long gray beard sways as the podium reaches the center of the stadium. Where me and Damon are currently looking up to him. Everyone's attention is on Hlaford. Some are amazed and have left their mouth wide open.
Who wouldn't?
The busy God is here. He wasn't able to join us on the assembly hall because of his important duties. But here is he, in front of all of us, with his magnificent golden podium.
He set a foot on the ground. His face does not show any emotion and that made me feel nervous.
We were told to keep his identity but here we are in the Classidium where everyone is looking at us and Damon is on his dragon form. We're so freaking dead.
"Please undestand that Damon's prescence in Spheria is because of me," he announced. Everyone gasped except for me and Damon. They were picking us for rthey thought we'll be dead once it reaches the Gods but little did they know is Hlaford bring him here himself.
"I'm sorry God Hlaford but enlighten my confusion. Dragonians are not allowed to be in here," the man replied. He glanced up to him and back to us. His eyes were glued to me and Damon. Watching us like we're going to colonize Spheria.
Brunette guys are sure irritating.
Hlaford's mouth curved into a smile. He lifted his bludgeon and a scene flashes before our eyes.
"Vortaxia is an enchanted world where gifted people are invited to control and enhance their gifts and capabilities." The light show us the old map of Vortaxia. It was once a whole land like pangea. It changes to a scene on when and how the Vortans received their invitations.
"Only those who have gifts are invited in this place," Hlaford said using his old voice. "Discriminations from each other's races made them divide Vortaxia into four kingdoms." The light show us how the huge land of Vortaxia seperated into four lands.
"Dragonia kingdom, being the most powerful kingdom ni Vortaxia have been on top since ancient times. Our kingdom, Spheria, have been next to them after Mythotia and Wizarnia kingdom failed to meet the needed glory," he says. The four kingdoms are on the screen where different Vortans showcase their gifts.
Does that mean Mythotia and Wizarnia are weak and weakest kingdom in Vortaxia?
"And that what gave them the envy shoulder." His voice changed.
I looked at the screen and saw the first God of Spheria. Everyone gasped for who knows how many times already. Gaviel is on the screen. His soiled white cloth is ornamented by strips of ruby and gold. But the first thing I noticed is his glowing bludgeon.
Familiar...
"A bond of two different races shall restore peace and save us from peril," Gaviel says. His voice is sfull of authority.
Damon looked at me and I think we both understand what it means.
"Indeed my dear Chosens." He stares at the Chosens looking at her. "Damon, a dragonian from Dragonia kingdom and Golden, a Chosen from Spheria kingdom are conjoined by faith. They are the Vortans mentioned on Gaviel's prophecy," he announced. Their faces are filled with mixed emotions. Hearing that from Hlaford himself.
"That prophecy was true?" the man asked confusedly.
"Yes, my child."
Silence filled the open stadium and Diante broke it with his loud and deep laugh. "What a relief. The peace in Vortaxia is about to enrage," he says.
"I am glad to here your great anouncement God Hlaford but I am afraid that we have to move forward on Golden. My heart is filled with excitement to see her gift."
My world stopped.
I think my brain malfunctioned.
Damon starts to get smaller and I smiled when I saw his human form. "We have a situation," he says and hold my hand. He knows exactly when I need him the most.
"What do you mean, Damon?" Diante asked. His face spells confusion and I couldn't help it but hide myself behind him.
"Golden is..." he says. He glanced at me and I nodded at him weakly. "She is... Golden is powerless."
I squeezed my eyes shut when I heard them gasped. Silence reigned the stadium bowl and I stood behind him like a scared littl cat waiting to be called out for being here without a gift.
"I think I heard you wrong," Diante says.
My heart stared pounding.
"She is powerless?! Then that only means one thing!" The man from earlier raised to frantically share his freaking opinion again. "She is a mythonian!" he yells.
My eyes opened when I heard what he said. What?
"Powerless Vortans belong tot he weakest kingdom of Vortaxia. How did you end up being in here you spy!" He pointed his finger to me. They all look at me with disgust and I watched them in horror as they start to throw me hate comments.
"What a sly!"
"A garbage!"
Damon hides me in his chest and I buried my face there like a scared kitten.
"Petition to throw hwe where she truly belongs!" a woman ranted. My eyes watered in fear.
Why do they hate me so much?
I looked at Hlaford and he seemed to be speechless from what he had heard. Yes, God Hlaford. One of the mentioned Vortan on Gaviel's prophecy has no gift.
Damon stared at him asking for help but he just heaved a sigh and look at his bludgeon. The light from there is fading like my hope to stay here with my parsen.
"I'm sorry but I need to leave this to Diante."
That's it...
My world had collapsed.
