Time, they say waits for no man. You lose it and its gone; sometimes it passes like the wind and sometimes it goes slowly. To me, I would say time might work in or against your favor. As Mary listens to every word coming out of Night's mouth, she fell deeper and deeper into a pit of misery and fear but she makes sure she doesn't show it. She was done with being scared. The least she could do was find out what he wants and get away with this. She felt that there was always a way out. While Mary struggled with her emotions, the rest of the class was smitten by him.

There were impressed at his success and smartness at such a young age. Some aspired to be like him looking with admiration while some looked with lost, and some with just pure jealousy and hatred, the multiple natures of men. Night cross looked at his watch and announced,

"Okay, that would be it for the day, for your next class the first we would do is go through the assignment I gave to you. I know it will be too soon but I like to get things done quickly, effectively and efficiently". With each word, he looked straight at Mary. She looked up at him and gulped at the words coming out of his mouth. She quickly began to pack up so she could follow the rest of the class rushing out.

Just when she was about to put her textbook into her bag, she knocks it down accidentally. She reaches out to pick it but saw a slender hand pick it up and offer it to her.

"Miss Bernard," She looked up to piercing eyes, "I would like to see you". Having the look of defeat evident on her face she knew there was no need to run anymore,in a few minutes the class was empty, it was just he and she.

He sat down, going straight to the point. "So when am I getting my first soul?" Mary was taken aback, she thought he would beat round the bush before saying that but he seems like he meant business.

"Mary, we talked about this its either your life or the life of others, and I am not a patient person really". Mary looked at him straight to his face she responds.

" I never told you to switch my soul in the first place I would rather die than become a murderer or have the blood of someone on my hands". Mary did not know where the confidence came from but she was proud of herself.

Night slants back a little while on the seat putting his hands on the table he looks at her with amusement on his face.

Mary waited a several seconds for his response but there was none. Looking at this development she thought to herself why was he so quiet? Maybe all she needed to do was show a bit of boldness.

Feeling proud, Mary turns to leave through the door, but suddenly a scream left her mouth, and she started to scream so loud. She kept on falling until she landed on a rocky bolder and all around her was fire, she felt so scared at what was happening.

It was all darkness and fire, she had never felt so desperate in her life, and then Night Cross approaches her and says," you finally got what you want and it was nice knowing you", turning his back to her

she began to shout "No!! No!!"

He turned back, smirking then he says. "I would like to tell you that I am not a very patience one but since you have made your intentions known that you rather die, so be it he grins I will let you die",

she screams with tears pouring down her face "No! No! You can't do this". With a deep voice and a smirk on his face he casually stroked his chon while staring at her

"You had broken our deal already and I see no reason take back what has been broken Mary". Mary realizes she has to do what must be done to live

"I will give you the souls!!" she yelled out. Taking slow steps towards her paralyzed body, he seemed to grow with every step he took

"You know I was willing to wait for the first souls in two days but the only way you are going to leave past 12 midnight is only for you to get a soul this night, how you plan to do it is not my business but I need a soul this night". Those were his last words to her before she felt sudden wind around her with air flowing out of her lungs and an invincible force pushes her back to reality. She looked around, looking for the devil but he was no longer there. Her hands began to tremble she tries to use the other to steady another when she hears a whisper that makes the hairs at the back of her neck to stand "the time is ticking Mary"

Philip finally came to the conclusion that he had to get rid of Mary's clothes, he gave a sigh of defeat. The rain kept pouring down with a vengeance like an unpaid landlord on a hot summer day. He began to open Mary's buttons took of her gown down slowly to waist then pulled of his shirt as well. After pulling down her gown she is left with her white inner wear, he observes her and sees the crease on her face it felt like she was having a night mare. Something caught his eye as he kept observing her body. He sees scars starting from her shoulders to the rest of her body. Philip looked confused asks himself what exactly happened to her and why were they so much scars on her body responding to reflex he lifts his hand to trace the scares on her body but just then her hand grips his and her eyes slowly open giving him an accusing look. Philip paused, he felt his throat go dry, this was not how he wanted to be perceived, like a predator but he had to do this to save her life

Just as he waited to receive the worst her hands loosened her grip on his and her eyes closed slowly. Her feverish gasp from her that brings him back to reality. He had to make sure she was warm so he hugs her to her to his bare chest to create warmth. He just hoped his efforts would not be mistaken when she awoke.

Seconds became minutes and minutes became hours and soon it was day break. The rain had fallen all night without stopping. Just then Marthaopened her eyes, she smelled a scent of wood and pine which she was sure was not her scent but it gave her the most comfortable feeling, she had never felt this comfortable in a while. She sighed grateful for the warmth. Then suddenly it occurred to her that she was in a heap of hay so why did she feel so comfortable and warm she opened her eye jumping up. She looked sown and saw she had nothing on her but her white inner wear on she then screamed making the man laying beside her jumps up in fright causing both their eyes to meet. Mary gave him an angry glare as she pointed her finger to him and spewed the word "you" with so much hatred and anger.

Philip looked at her with his eye wide open as he gave a defeated sigh. He begins to explain but it occurred to him that he just heard her speak 'well it appears that the rain was not evil at all, it make you whole and restored your voice, it is nice to hear you speak".
