Chapter 139 A Freak In The Sheets

"Knock, knock, stranger," I called out as I turned the doorknob and stepped inside. In typical Sophia fashion, her bedroom was nothing short of spotless. The bed was perfectly made with a dozen throw pillows stacked neatly, and I was sure there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere. Sophia was always ready and organized for anything life threw her way. It was one of the traits I admired most about her. I sat down on her mattress, threw my body backward, and let myself sink into the memory foam for a moment while I took time to collect the thoughts running rampant in my mind.
"Augh."
A loud moan echoed through the bedroom, and my eyes widened. My body shot up on the bed, and my head bolted toward the washroom door off to the side. Suddenly, I realized I wasn't alone. A deep chuckle followed, once again echoing from the washroom. My heart began to thump erratically inside my chest, and my palms grew clammy. I knew I should leave.
But what if I was right, and it was Alpha Christian after all? Maybe then Jaxon would actually believe me, unlike the failure of the acting performance he put on earlier during our pack border run.
I bit my bottom lip, contemplating my next move. My wolf was clattering inside like a lion locked in a cage. We both knew we should leave—after all, curiosity killed the cat.
"S-Sophia?" I choked out, swallowing a large lump in the back of my throat. The room stayed silent, and I began to wonder if I had imagined the whole thing. Surely, someone must have heard me. I thought about mind linking Jaxon, but my wolf fought me inside. Sophia had already faced enough torment from her brother—"Don't make it worse," it argued.
"Anyone here? Helllllooooo?" I called out, pushing off the mattress and taking slow steps toward the washroom door. I paused for a second, waiting for my wolf hearing to detect any trace of someone in the room with me. Silence filled the air, and a wiry feeling took refuge in the pit of my stomach. I wasn't sure what suddenly came over me, but I reached for the nickel-brushed doorknob and turned it ever so slightly, immediately pulling back and taking one of the few fighting stances I knew.
My breathing hitched as the door creaked open. I felt the room instantly blur behind my eyes, and it began to spin violently around me. Sophia lay across the ledge of the tub, naked, her legs spread wide. She was so lost in her own pleasure that she didn't even notice the door opening, her eyes rolling to the back of her head. My eyes widened, and my heart nearly leapt from my chest when I saw dark hair and broad shoulders settled between her legs.
The man's large hand crept up her flat stomach, inching toward her chest. Within seconds, I watched as he cupped Sophia's breast—kneading it as he continued to devour her core. Sophia threw her head back as she reached her peak, and I felt my face grow bright red, sheer embarrassment taking over for standing there as long as I had.
I moved to step backward, attempting my escape as I prayed to the Moon Goddess that I still hadn't been noticed. This was the most humiliating moment of my entire life. Before my body could move, the man with the dark hair looked up and directly at me. His eyes pierced into my soul, and it was as if I was starstruck. Sophia quickly darted her head in my direction, and the look of shock on her face made heat crawl even higher up the back of my neck. The walls felt like they were closing in; the room felt significantly smaller with every punishing breath I took.
"Shit," Sophia screamed. She jumped up off the ledge and rushed for a towel, fumbling to wrap it around her body. My eyes darted between her and the tall man staring back at me, his cock still hard and completely exposed as he remained crouched on his knees.
"Luna..." he said, his voice low and choked like a child who just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
I stared back at him wide-eyed, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath to sort through my thoughts and calm my wolf inside who wanted to run to our mate without looking back. I pressed my lips together, taking my time to slowly open my eyes as his name rolled off my lips. "Beta Don..." I responded, matching his quiet, stalled demeanor.
