The gold sequin gown shimmered and shined in the dim light of the closet. My eyes widened as I continued to admire the craftsmanship of the dress. A soft chuckle came from behind me. Sarah stood tall, a satisfied grin spreading across her face. I placed my hand along the side of the mannequin, unable to utter a single word.

"Gorgeous, isn't it? The Alpha sketched it out himself. He's been very involved in the mating ceremony arrangements," Sarah confirmed, squeezing her hands together tightly.

A sting of pride protruded through my chest, knowing that Alpha Jaxon had been so meticulous with the details, right down to my gown. Sarah pointed to the undergarments set beside the dress and giggled, "We'll be right back, Luna." A beige seamless thong lay there along with a matching strapless bra. I quickly dropped my towel and slipped into them, knocking gently on the closet door for them to return. Both girls unbuttoned the back of the gold dress with such care on the mannequin, nodding for me to step into the gown. Both girls tugged the stunning dress up and over my bust, securing the small round buttons on the back.

Sarah gulped loudly when I turned to face the two maids, both their eyes dancing up and down my body. I glanced into the mirror, unable to recognize myself. The girl staring back held power and confidence—beauty and poise dripping from within her. I had changed so much in such a short time, proud of the woman I had become. I pressed my lips together, hopeful that the pack would feel the same.

"I can't thank you both enough for your help today. This all feels like a dream," I admitted, watching both girls' eyes grow glossy.

I walked into the bedroom where Sophia was nearly finished getting ready, looking radiant in her flowing red gown with a slit running up both of her tanned legs. Sophia's head shot in my direction. "You... you look like a true Luna. The pack is going to go wild when they see you, Adeline," she said, wiping a single tear that rolled down her cheek.

I took a deep breath. "I can't believe it's finally here. It all feels like a blur."

Sophia draped her arms around me, pulling me closer into her body. "Enjoy it. You have no idea how long my brother has waited for you," she said, then pulled back, holding my shoulders firmly. "One more thing..." Sophia whispered as she released her hold, approaching the bedroom door. She gripped the doorknob and turned her head, a grin forming at the corners of her lips.

Opening the door, I instantly struggled to catch my breath as my parents, sister, and best friend burst into the room.

My mother shrieked and rushed toward me, placing a hand on my cheek. "You're about to be mated to the Alpha, but you'll forever be my baby," she whispered. Bailey wrapped her arms around my torso from the side, pressing her face into mine. "I missed you so much. I'm so happy for you, Addie," she squealed. In that moment, the familiarity of my family made my heart flutter, surrounded by so much love.

Sophia motioned to the dressing maids. "We'll give you some time with your family, Luna. Beta Don will be by shortly to escort you." They quickly exited, anxiety beginning to boil in my chest, knowing I would soon be presented to the pack as Alpha Jaxon's mate.

Leah bent down behind me, flattening out the wrinkles in the train of my gown. "My lil sis has grown up so much. I'm so proud of you, Addie. You can do this," she spoke softly.

My mother's tender hand lifted my chin to look at her. "Adeline, tell me. Are you happy? Is Alpha Jaxon treating you well?"

I nodded, unable to hide my smile at the mention of Alpha Jaxon's name. "So well. I love him, Mom," I admitted, biting my bottom lip.

"Very well. Then we are all here to provide you with our blessings," she said softly. My father pushed past her, and I wrapped my arms around his torso. "Daddy..." I whispered, unable to control the water pooling in my eyes as I recalled the memories of him nearly lying on his deathbed.

"Good as new, honey. Today is about you and Alpha Jaxon. We were so worried when we heard you had been taken," he admitted, staring down at me. I dabbed the corner of my eye carefully, not wanting any of my tears to ruin the makeup Riley had worked so hard on. "You're going to be an outstanding Luna. I just know it," he continued as a firm knock filled the room.

My stomach was doing somersaults as I watched Bailey open the door to Beta Don. He was dressed in a red military-style suit, ribbons hanging from the side of his jacket. He gave me a proud smile. "Luna Adeline, I am here to escort you to your official mating ceremony with Alpha Jaxon."

I nodded, giving each of my family members one last hug as an unmated shifter. I laced my arm with Beta Don's, whom I noticed was having difficulty tearing his gaze off me. "Ready?" he whispered, low enough for just me to hear.

"As ready as I'll be," I responded, and we began to leave the bedroom.

Leah yelled from inside the room, "Break a leg, sis!" causing me to chuckle and feel thankful for her light humor.

We approached the staircase, and I gripped the handrail, steadying myself against it and Beta Don as we carefully walked down. I was thankful I didn't fall when we reached the bottom. My eyes locked with the doorway, and I could feel my heart hammering inside my chest.

"Relax, Adeline. Just imagine it's you and Alpha Jaxon out there," Beta Don advised.

My eyes widened. "How many people are outside?" I asked, feeling uneasy.

He pressed his lips together and ran a hand through his hair. "At least a thousand... the guest list just kept growing. There are many shifters interested in seeing who the vicious Alpha Jaxon's one true mate is," he said with a smirk.

I slapped his chest gently. "Are you serious? Oh my Moon Goddess..."

My jaw nearly hit the floor when I caught a glimpse outside the door. The entire pack had transformed into what felt like a Disney movie. I gripped the necklace Luna Fraya had given me for a second before stepping outside, feeling as though she was right beside me, guiding and encouraging me that I could do this.
