Chapter 34

"Sometimes three minutes isn't enough."

"And seven is just too much."

He shrugged, "We'll just eat somethings else."

"I have no nachos or cheese or anything else that's movie food." I didn't take it as a habit to keep junk food in my apartment because I loved it too much and if my parents came over and saw it, they would flip.

To them, I was already single, so being Single and eating junk is a double unhealthy lifestyle to them.

"Then we'll go to the dollar store, it's like two minutes away. We can walk."

I frown not really liking the idea. Seth came over to where I was standing and grab my shoulders shaking me.

"We're walking to the dollar store. It will be fun. Walking is fun." As he spoke his big grin just wouldn't go when automatically made me start smiling too.

"Okay. I'll come but you're paying cause you burnt the popcorns."

"Fair enough." He took the bowl of burnt popcorn from my hands and throw it in the bin.

He walked over back to me with the biggest smile, "C'mon, Let's go!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the door then take my keys off the rock.

He opened the door and pushed me through it then he uses the key to close it. "This is gonna be fun."

I laughed at his enthusiasm. "When was the last time you went to Dollar Store?"

"When I was around 15." He said in a low tone.

I laughed understanding his sudden excitement. Which kid doesn't love the dollar store? When I got my first pay at thirteen, I went straight to the dollar and boy did I spend.

Dollar Store is the place you go to get a discount on chocolate and candy when your parents didn't want to give you a lot of money.

"I used to love the dollar store." He expresses as he presses the elevator button.

I nod agreeing. "Me too. I bought my first eyephones there for only $2 and it lasted me for six months. Now, these days if I buy an earphone for $50 it lasts me for one week. I really need to start going back to the dollar store."

"Well, we're heading there now." The elevator door opened and four other persons were already inside, including Woody. I offered a smile to everyone then enter, Seth close behind me. When he was in the elevator shut and everyone was silent as the elevator moved down. Not even Woody spoke, I guess he was still mad about our last conversation. But how the hell was I supposed to know that he had a daughter?

I was relieved when the double doors open on the ground floor. I could not spend the next minute in that awkward silence. As soon as we were out Seth grabbed my hand and pulled me in the direction of the lobby.

When we pushed the second door that led to outside a wind of fresh air caught us.

"We should have bought our jackets." I could not afford to catch the flu right now. I had so many cases working on.

"Come on, stop being a baby. It's only two minutes away." He still hadn't let go of my arms, in fact, his arms where now enlaced in mine.

"I can't afford to get sick."

"Me either. I'm in court every day." Well, he had a point, I didn't have much court cases but meeting with other lawyers to work out settlements wasn't an easy task either.

I sigh, "Let's not talk about work right now. Let's just go to, dollar store and get the nachos or tortillas and go back to my place to watch the movie."

"Have you chosen the movie as yet?"

"No. I'm thinking about it." I lied. I wasn't thinking about what movie to watch. When I asked him to come over I just wanted the company and mentioning a movie was the only way that sounded easy to ask him to stay. "What types of movies do you like?"

"Suspense."

I smile, "Same but I do enjoy a good Romance movie too." Tell me one person who doesn't like Romance movie and I'll prove you wrong.

"Our favorite movies are Romance Movies."

"Oh yeah." I laugh. "What about Deadpool 2?"

He frowns, "Watch it already."

"Same." I only ask because every man at the firm was making a great fuss over it.

"I saw this movie that sounds cool, 'Backstabbing for beginners', what about it?"

I shrug, "I watched half of it. Didn't really entice me."

"Oh okay. Uhm. Logan. It's about Wolverine."

"Yea...No. I heard what happened in the end and I really don't wanna watch it because of that." How could the producers do that to us? To me, it was plain cruelty.

I lift his free hand and scratch his head, "Black Panther?"

I laugh, did he really suggest that? "The world watched it and it was amazing."

"We could watch it again."

I shake my head; A person cannot watch one movie so many times. "Why don't we just wait until we get back we choose a movie?"

"Great idea."

I smile and look around we were almost in the plaza. "I can't believe they're adding a Dairy Queen here."

I looked over to me and grin, "Me either."

"I love ice-cream," We said simultaneously causing us both to laugh.

"Ice-cream is amazing." Seth fantasied.

"I agree 500%. Especially Strawberry Cheese Cake." I moan as I said the words. Who doesn't like ice-cream?

Weirdos

"Rum and Raisin for me and Cookie and Cream."

"Yeah, those are really good."

"We should invest in an ice-cream factory," Seth suggested, and I laughed.

"We sound like teenagers." It wasn't every day I got a chance to live like I'm young. But whenever I'm with Seth I felt ten years younger. I forget all the work and stress that came with being Partner at a Law Firm and just have fun.
