'I actually like this style of his.'
she smiled again.
"I like you already." she said and I smiled back. She then turned to Shane, "Honey I'm done. I'm going to the car. Come soon."
She faced me again,
"Bye, Shayenne. Hope we meet again."
"Hope so too."
'She's kinda nice. I expected something else.'
I watched her walk out of the store. I then turned to Shane.
"Okay, I think I should go on with my shopping." I said, "I'm surprised. I thought you were single."
"I was. Sloane has been a very close friend from childhood. We officially became a couple two weeks ago."
"Oh, I see. She's nice. I like her. I wonder how she decided to date a jerk like you." I mused.
"A jerk?" he chuckled. He was even more handsome when he laughed.
"Just kidding." I laughed a little.
"Okay. This is not the first impression I had of you. You're more friendly." he replied.
"Yeah. I just don't spare those who try to knock me down with a race bike."
He laughed
"Oh, right. Sorry about that. Here's my card. Visit or call when you can. Sloane would probably like to see you again."
I happily took it. It read,
'Hollywood Productions'.
I smiled. This means I could go visit the place as soon as I was free.
"Thanks."
"No problem. And thanks for saving my skin. Black is meant for me." he smirked.
"Uh, yeah. If you believe that." I laughed nervously. That was awkward of me.
"I like that. See you later." he winked at me and left the store.
I looked at my card. I immediately stored his number before putting the card away safely.

When I went back to the campus, I told Keisha all that had happened. She was really happy with the change and fact that Shane had given me his card and number. Plus, we'd kind of reconciled in the right manner.
"What was the Sloane like?" Keisha asked me.
"She was friendly and nice. Why ask?"
"They won't last."
I almost choked of laughter. Keisha could be odd at times.
"What? Keisha why do you say that?" I asked.
"It's a fact. From what you've told me, they seem to be more of friends than a couple. I wouldn't be all smiley with some chick my boyfriend lied to, saying I am just a friend."
"Not everyone is as complicated as you are, Kiki. They're cool." I mused.
I then went to the kitchen and began preparing the ingredients and foodstuff. Keisha soon joined me.
"Will you help me?" I asked
"To cook? For Josh? Nah, I'm comfortable reading my mag, right here." she replied casually, taking a seat and opening a magazine. I smiled to myself.
"Okay, okay."
"Shayenne, text Shane." she suddenly said.
"What?" I turned to her, amused.
"Just to say hi and tell him that it's your number you're texting him with. So he stores it."
"Why?"
"You need to be more social. Plus he's an open opportunity for your future job."
I sighed.
"Hmm, okay. Maybe you're right." I said, "But help with the food while I go get my phone."
"Fine, fine." she reluctantly agreed, "If it'll make you call Shane."
"I will, Kiki." I giggled.
"Good. And don't be surprised if I poison the food." she laughed out.
"Keisha please don't start." I laughed and left the kitchen to go get my phone. I found it and sat down to text Shane.
"Hi Shane. Once again thx 4 ur num & card. This is my number. It's Shayenne."
I sent it and nervously waited for a reply. I didn't know why I was nervous. The awaited reply soon came,
"Hey shayenne, that was fast. Thx 4 ur number. U're a darl. I'd forgotten take it. Dumb me 😛."
"No prob."
I dropped the phone and was heading for the kitchen when it suddenly biped again . I quickly went back to it. It was Shane.
"Can I know when you'll be able to come visit H. Productions?"
I thought.
"Maybe next week. Why?"
"We started off in wrong terms. I want us to know each other better, if you don't mind."
"Sure. I guess it's not bad to give it a try."
"Good."
'That's better. I hope he does help open doors for me, in the future.'
I dropped the phone and went to inform Keisha.
-
"Yes! The perfect opportunity for you to visit the filming industry and see a bit of how they function." she said with a smile.
"I know. And maybe I'll even meet very important people."
"Exactly. Force the contact." she joked and we chuckled.
"We'll go next weekend right?" I asked, chopping some onions.
"You and who?" she asked and I looked at her in surprise, "The fuck is 'we' ?" she laughed out.
I looked at her, confused.
"Keisha, you're coming with me." I stated.
"Oh no, no. He invited you. Not me. Plus, I'll be busy next weekend. All this is about you Shayenne. Not me."
Keisha was a case indeed.
"What will you be doing next weekend that'll make you so busy?" I asked, "You know I can't go alone. I'll be way too nervous."
She laughed.
"That's your problem. I'll be busy watching TV over here."
I didn't find it funny at all and rather frustrating. But when she laughed out, I ended up laughing too. It was always the same with her. I hardly remained pissed at her and her laugh was always very contagious to me.
**
Josh arrived that night and ate with us. We had a private talk and later on, he left. I was surprised. I'd thought he'd spend the night. It got me mad but Keisha was happy though.
"Good riddance. Didn't want his annoying ass, around."
I was kind of sad, but I decided to brush it off and let it go.
