Chapter 145: So annoyed

The rage that pumped through me made my hands shake. If Dakota wasn't my little sister, I would have kicked her out ages ago but she needed me now more than ever.
"I just want to know why, Dakota. Why did you go back to that prick? Why did you let him shoot you up again? You're fucking pregnant for fuck's sake."
She rolled her eyes at me and crossed her arms over her chest. "You wouldn't understand, Drake, you never do. You're always so damn perfect and every choice you make is the right one. I can't help it that I'm not."
I snorted. "Perfect? You think I'm perfect? You should know better than anyone that I'm not. I have to make a decision every single fucking day not to be like dad; not to be like any of them! I make mistakes more often than I'd like to admit, but at least I have my reasons as to why I do them. What's yours?"
"I love him. Can't that be enough? You've never been in love so you have no room to tell me the struggles of it."
"Never? I'm in love right now!"
She scoffed. "Yeah, with the most perfect woman ever. Lynn does no wrong, Drake. You got lucky finding a woman like her, but the rest of us aren't that lucky."
"Save the dramatics, Dakota. You might think you're in love with Lex, but look at what he's done to you? That isn't love. That's lust. You're smarter than this!"
"I'm back here, aren't I? Can't that be enough for now? Jesus, get off of my back!"
I let out a groan as my hands balled up at my sides. She was getting on my last nerve and I knew it was because she had drugs pumping through her system once again. She'd come back to her senses once she cleaned out.
"Get dressed and join me downstairs. Rehab starts today," I said through clenched teeth. "If you're going to continue to stay here, you need to pull your head out of your ass, Dakota." Then I turned and marched out of her room.
That girl was going to be the death of me and now I had to figure out how to get rid of my mom and brother before it was too late. I didn't get the chance to ask her what she was thinking, but I would. I descended the stairs as I heard soft voices from the kitchen, but when I entered, my rage slammed back into my senses. My mom and Diego stood by Molly at the island, talking as if they belonged here.
"What the hell are you two doing here?" My voice was rough and angry. "I thought me kicking you out last night was an obvious sign that you weren't welcome here."
Mom rolled her eyes at me, much the same way Dakota had just done upstairs. "Oh relax, Drake, we're just getting to know your girlfriend. She's a real peach."
"Yeah, she is, and I don't want you two poisoning her. It's time to go."
"Poisoning her? Whatever could we do that you haven't?" Diego asked with a smirk as he pulled his phone out. "Lynn, look at these. They crack me up." He held his phone out for her to see as her gaze fell to them.
Her mouth slightly parted as her expression quickly morphed into anger and then sadness. I had no idea what he was showing her, but it didn't look good for me. Then her brows furrowed as she glanced up at me.
"What is this, Drake?" She whispered as she stole Diego's phone and rounded the island toward me. Her hand shook when she showed me the screen and I let out a sigh. Right there on the screen was my worst nightmare. I would have told her all about this if I hadn't been so damn distracted last night. "What is this?!" She screamed.
I took the phone from her and saw the newest tabloid. The paparazzi captured a picture of Monique and I by the pool, lips locked. What they didn't capture was me pushing her away and firing her. You can make any picture look bad if you catch it at the right moment.
"Lynn, it's not what you think..."
"No? Well, what about this one?!" She stole the phone back from me, scrolled a bit, and showed me again.
"Fuck," I hissed out as I stared down at Brooke Saddle naked on my lap with her tits in my face and my eyes straight down at them. "This isn't what you think either."
She threw her head back and laughed like a crazed woman. "Then tell me what I should think, Drake, because as it sits right now... it looks like my boyfriend had loads of fun on his weekend away from me." Then she turned to luis. "And so much for my best friend having my back, right?"
"Lynn, that's seriously so out of context," luis replied to her.
I reached out for her. "Lynn, come on.'
But she tore her arm out of my embrace. "No, Drake... you come on. I'm already having a hard time swallowing all of this and then this is what I see from your weekend away? I just... I don't even know what to say." She stared into my gaze with so much fury that I felt it in my soul.
"Don't be ridiculous. I would never hurt you, lynn." I reached for her again, but again, she pulled away from me.
"Well you just did." She spun around and stormed out of the kitchen.
"Lynn!"
"I'll take care of this one, Drake," luis offered. "You take care of..." he waved with a disgusted look toward my family, "them..."
My mom scoffed. "We're literally standing right here, you little fucker."
Luis shrugged. "I know." Then he disappeared, hopefully after lynn before she went too far.
I glared between my mom and brother, wondering how to carefully execute this without losing my entire temper. My hands gripped the edge of the island while I took a few steadying breaths.
"Okay, I'm going to ask you very nicely to get the fuck out of my house before I call the cops."
"Whoa, brother, nice way to speak to your family. We haven't seen you in years."
I laughed before I pinned Diego with my hot glare.
