Chapter 136: Trying to seduce him

DRAKE'S POV

When I decided to head back down to the convention, Pierre was nowhere to be found. I called his phone several times but it went straight to voice-mail each time. He didn't answer when I knocked this morning either. He was a big boy, though, and probably met one of the gay actors. Sly little devil.

"Good morning, Mr. Wood," the hotel desk woman greeted me the moment I stepped out of the elevator. Her eyes scanned down my body appreciatively. 'I was just coming up to your room. Your partner said to have you meet him in the coffee shop." She batted her eyes as I tried so hard not to roll mine.

"Why didn't you just call me?" I cocked a brow at her, but the way her mouth twisted told me that she wanted to do it in person. What the hell was she expecting? That I'd open my door and invite her in? Oh, honey, you have no idea how unavailable I am.

I moved around her without another word and headed for the coffee shop. Luis sat at a table alone with his famous purple star sunglasses covering his gaze. His hair was a mess and he wore the same clothes from yesterday.

"Morning, partner. You look like shit," I blurted out.

He groaned before he took a greedy sip of the iced coffee in front of him. "Don't remind me. I may or may not have met some new friends last night."

I laughed as I took the spot across from him. "Are any of these new friends able to help us make our quota today?"

His smirk turned devilish as he nodded behind me. "Why don't you ask him yourself?"

Looking over my shoulder, I saw a face I hadn't seen in years. I jumped up from my spot and shook his hand.

"Lane fucking Parker."

He chuckled. "Drake fucking Hudson. How the hell are you, man?!" He pulled me in for a bro hug before he took in the sight of me. "Looks like you haven't missed a day at the gym."

"Damn it's good to see you!"

Lane Parker was just hitting the scenes when I broke into the industry. He was the top dog, and still was in the Southwest market. Lane Parker was my idol and only a few years older than me. I hadn't seen him since one of my very first shoots. The guy helped me through all of it.

"Likewise, brother. Your buddy here told me that you've started your own studio and need some talent." He winked. "I'm in the market for a change. Could you use an old guy like me?"

My eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets. Lane Parker wanted to come work for me? No way.

"Are you... are you fucking serious?" I looked back at luis who still looked miserably hungover before I turned back to Lane. "That would be incredible, man! I can't wait to tell lynn." It just came out before I even knew what I was saying. I loved that I thought of her at this moment, though. She was going to love Lane. Not many people didn't.

He chuckled. "I can't wait to meet the beauty who took you off the market, Drake. Luis has nothing but good things to say about her. I've also seen the tabloids. She's smokin', man!" He slapped my shoulder as my cheeks blushed. "If you don't mind, I'd like to bring some co-stars along with me. Their contracts are ending soon so you should have a full cast now."

My jaw nearly hit the floor. This was the reason I had come here this weekend and I didn't really have to do much work. Lane Parker was going to join my team and I couldn't be happier about it. The guy was a legend. Just having him star in some of my films would skyrocket my ratings on day one. This was amazing. Now I just had to find Monique again and fire the bitch. Lynn was going to be thrilled with this news.

"I can't thank you enough, I shook his hand again. "We'll talk logistics here in a bit, but right now I need to take care of some business." I left luis and Lane to head to the front desk where the woman who clearly had eyes for me would be.

"Mr. Hudson, what can I do for you?" She asked, clearly trying to hide the grin on her lips.

I leaned against the counter, giving her my heated gaze so I could get the information I wanted out of her without question. My gaze slid down over her as she physically flinched.

"I'm looking for someone. Can you help me find her? It's very important..." I paused to look down at her nametag, "Sandy."

She let out a nervous giggle as she batted her eyes. "I'd love to help you, Mr. Hudson. Wh-who are you looking for?"

I grinned, victory was mine. "Monique Starr."

She chewed on her bottom lip as she typed. "She's in room 506, but I don't think she's there now. I saw her exit the elevator about twenty minutes ago before she headed for the pool area."

"Thanks, Sandy." I threw her a wink before I stepped away from the counter. As soon as my back was turned to her, my smile immediately disappeared. I hated that I could use my good looks and charms to win over women like that. I wasn't proud of it, but I used it when I needed to, otherwise I wasn't the creep who used it ever.

I headed for the pool area in search of Monique, scanning the area until I found her. The place was quiet except for her as she lounged on her back in a bikini that barely covered her goods. I approached her like I had a mission, because I did. I didn't want her to think this was a friendly visit.

"Monique," I stated loudly when I reached her.

She pulled her sunglasses up as her eyes slid down me appreciatively. "Nice to see you again so soon, Drake." She stood up from her spot and tried to touch me but I swatted her hand away.

"We need to talk. I have gotten the amount of talent needed to not need you anymore. This business relationship between us ends now."

Her bottom lip pouted, but she tried to act as if she hadn't heard a word I said. She circled me once before she launched herself on me. My instincts kicked in and I grabbed her as she climbed me like a tree. Her legs wrapped tightly around my hips as her hands went wild in my hair and her mouth devoured my lips.

I turned my head away and instantly dropped her to her feet before I stumbled back.
