Chapter 19: Want her badly

"knock the fuck off." I successfully stepped away from Chrissy but she didn't look pleased.

"So, you can fuck me in front of the cameras but not off of them? Go fuck yourself, Drake!" Her voice had risen and there was no doubt several people around us had heard. I was just lucky that Lynn was out of hearing range. I needed a fucking drink.

When night fell, the yacht anchored itself to the bottom of the sea and crewmen milled about. Word around the party was that they were going to provide a fire works show, but I didn't care about that. I kept an eye on Lynn, but she was making it obvious that she was staying away from me. I told myself that I shouldn't care but I just couldn't help myself. It bothered me that she was bothered.

Chrissy was keeping her distance from me as well, throwing daggers at me with her eyes every chance she could, but I just smiled at her. What she didn't realize was that she just fucked up. Not only would she never work with me again, but I would also make sure she never worked in front of a camera ever again either. That was one good thing about being me. I had some serious pull in this industry and you didn't want to piss me off.

Wow, I really sounded like a chauvinistic prick, but it was the truth.

I grabbed two glasses of champagne and made my way over to Lynn, hoping to give her a peace offering. The last thing I wanted was for her to be upset with me. Who else would I share my bed with tonight?

"Thirsty?" I held one of the flutes out to her as she eyed it.

A shy smile lifted her lips as she held up her own flute. "Covered, but thanks."

I pulled the flute back into my chest and sighed. "Guess I will just have to drink both of these then." Nodding my head toward her, I asked, "is this seat taken?

She looked at the open spot on the couch, her cheeks blushing as she turned her gaze back to mine. "I guess it is now."

Her tone was clipped and cool and I knew it was because she was upset about what she had seen after what we had just done together. I couldn't blame her, though. Even though she wasn't mine to claim, I'd be pissed if I came out and saw some dude grabbing up on her. Actually, I'd probably walk over and punch the fucker in the face.

Her body language told me she wasn't interested in talking right now, but I had other plans.

"Which room are you staying in tonight?" I asked, reaching out to glide a finger over her bare skin. She shivered beneath my touch as a smiled formed on my lips. Yeah, I still affected her.

"I'll be staying with Luis," she stated, her tone telling me that was a set in stone arrangement.

However I knew exactly which room they would be staying in and it was just two down from mine. "Well, if you get lonely, I'm just a few down from you."

She glared at me before she looked back out at the night sky. The fireworks show began, lighting up her skin in majestic colors.

"I'm going to take that as a fuck off," I teased but when she whipped around to stare at me, I saw that she didn't find it very funny.

"What do you want from me, Drake?" She asked, studying my eyes.

Her question threw me off guard as I thought about what I actually did want from her. This woman made me feel things I had never felt before and I didn't want that to end anytime soon, but i did know that it would end eventually. My father always said if it sounds too good to be true, then it usually is. I hated those words then and I hated them even more now. I didn't want to think Lynn was too good to be true.

"I thought we were having fun," I finally replied, but when the words came out they sounded much worse than I intended them to. They made me sound like an asshole.

She nodded nibbling her bottom lip as she looked around. I could tell she was mulling something over in her head and I desperately wanted to be inside of her brain right now, I was never good at reading a woman's thoughts or emotions.

"We are having fun," she replied, but I couldn't help but notice how it sounded like she was trying to convince herself they it was fun and nothing else.

"Well, here's to more fun," I held my flute up to cheer and watched as she hesitated for a moment before clicking her glass against mine. I kept my eyes glued to her as she sipped back her champagne, a look of trepidation flashing through her eyes. It wasn't something I was ready to deal with at the moment, so I didn't.

We sat silently side by side, watching the fireworks show and I desperately wanted to wrap an arm around her to pull her close to my chest. I am not the kind of guy who enjoys cuddling, but with Lynn, I almost craved it from her. I wanted to feel her against my body as we sat here just being in the moment. But her tense shoulders told me to keep my hands to myself, so I did.

When the fireworks show ended, people began to retire to their rooms for the night. I wanted to be alone with Lynn so badly that I almost pulled a caveman, carrying her over my shoulder to my room. When she looked at me, though, I could tell that was the last thing on her mind.

She stretched and yawned. "I think I'm going to go down now." Her eyes stayed away from mine but I was willing her to look at me with my thoughts.
