Adalwolf POV...
I glanced around the room, feeling how empty and cold it was.
Rori's absence does that to a place.
It's been three weeks since the battle took place in the filed and we are still healing from everything that happened.
The four shifters had paid the ultimate price to support and provide for this pack. That loss is yet to heal.
Letting out a sigh, I walked out of my room and made my way towards the front door of the main pack house.
Everything felt quite and empty.
Walking around the main pack house, I made my way towards the small pond.
My hands were shoved in to my jeans pockets as I mindlessly walked through the woods.
I tried to take my mind off of the events that tool place three years ago.
When the dome had came up amd Phoebe had told me of their plans, I'd felt betrayed. I was angry amd inraged when I found out how reckless the plan was, when I realized that it would mean I might lose Rori again.
I'd helplessly watched as the four shifters went against the cursed Luna.
They were losing. They were rowing weak and their shifters were getting stolen from them.
But the final blast that sent then crashing against the water dome was the worse.
I'd banged on the dome, threatened I'd kill Phoebe if she doesn't let me in but nothing worked.
Phoebe refused to put the dome down before she was sure that the cursed Luna was gone. She had promised Rori she'd do the right thing.
Brandon did try to convince her to listen to me but when I threatened her, he flipped sides and started defending her.
I was forced to look at Rori laying naked amd unconscious on the cold ground for about an hour before Phoebe finally let me in.
I'd rushed to her, catching her body in my arms. She was lifeless, unmoving and was not breathing either.
My heart had dropped in to my stomach as I'd tried to shake her away. But it didn't work.
Rori, along with the other three shifters, was gone.
When I reached the little pond, my heart skipped a beat as the sight of her, my little mate, standing near the little pond, staring in to the distance.
Phoebe had used the limits of her magic to make Rori's amd the three shifters hearts beat again and it took them all two weeks to gain conscious. But the down side was that each of them had lost their shifters.
In the last seven days, I'd watched Rori revert back to her shell, avoiding everyone including me. While Alpha Light, Mr. Beam and Diago were working with Phoebe on how to get their shifters back, Rori hid away.
Taking off my leather jacket, I walked over to her and wrapped it around her shoulders.
Rori tensed for a second before she relaxed again and leaned against my chest.
"You keep disappearing on me." I commented before pressing my lips to the side of her neck.
Rori didn't say anything as I wrapped my arms around her.
"Are you okay?" I asked, to which she nodded her head.
"I'm fine." She finally answered in a small voice.
Nodding my head, I tightened my arms around her.
I could feel my wolf trying to reach out for her Lioness, but there was nothing. Her Lioness was gone.
"Will things go back to the way they were before?" She suddenly asked.
Pulling away, I turned her around to face me.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
Tears filled Rori's eyes.
"I'm only human now." She whispered and my heart cracked.
"Rori..." I called out as I cupper her cheeks and tilted her head up to look at me. "Nothing changes. You're still my mate, my woman and my everything. I'd make the dumbest mistake once but I will never do it again, nor will the rest of the pack."
I leaned down to press my lips against hers before I pulled back again.
"This is your home, Ror, your home that you fought so hard to keep and protect. It's high time that your home protects you."
Rori looked up at me with teary eyes and I could tell that she was still troubled.
Dropping my hands from her cheeks, I reached for her hands before I went down on one knee.
Rori's eyes widened as she looked down at me.
"Rori Dash, I have loved you since the day I met you and I have continued to love you in the days I thought you were forever lost. No amount of time would have filled the Rori sized hole in my chest. I know I don't deserve your forgiveness and your kind heart. But I'm going to dare and ask you to give me another chance as your mate."
"Adal..." Rori whispered as tears slid down her cheeks.
"Be my mate, Rori. Be my Luna. Be my Queen. Allow me to Love you. Allow me to wake up beside you every morning and remind you just how much you mean to me. I know pir foundation is a bit shaky, but allow me to strengthen it so we can build our home..."
Rori leaded down and wrapped her arms around my neck before she crashed her lips on mine.
Rori belonged here, right beside me, helping me lead our pack. The pack has already accepted her. It was her who now needed to accept them.
I pulled Rori to me and broke away from her kiss before I trailed my lips over her jaw down to her beck. When I reached that spot, I knew right there and then, that this woman was going to be my everything.
I sunk my teeth in to her neck, breaking the skin to draw blood and mark her as my mate.
Rori lets out a soft gasp as I made her mine. Then, I felt it,a soft stir in my wolf.
His Lioness is back and he was more than ready to claim her.
I withdraw my teeth from her neck and lapped up the blood to seal the mark.
When I tried to pull away though, Rori wouldn't let me, at least not until she too placed her mark on me.
From that very moment on, we forgot our past and our pain so we can have a better future.
Rori became my Luna and I became her Alpha.
And together, we protected out pack and the triplets we welcomed a year later.
