Ciara's POV
Right after we pay at the registrar, we are all now in the Robinsons Mall where we are shopping at the grocery to buy snacks because we are going to watch a movie today. We just bought chips, sodas, and anything we will bring inside the cinema to eat.
I turned my attention to Shan's new introduction to us, Zam. I approached her and she seemed shocked to see me, "H-hi. Ciara, right?"
I smiled and nodded. She is so pretty and I can sense that she is kind, "Yes. So far, how are you? I heard from Shan that you were originally from Manila and moved from France and moved again here in Butuan City."
"Yes. I grew up in Manila because I was from there with my grandparents and in 2018 I moved to France to be with my mom. Now, she kinda has a job here so we moved again," she said and bowed. Her aura was sad, "The reason why we moved here is that it's all about business and also to find my father."
I looked at her with mixed surprise, "W-why? Is your Daddy here in Butuan City?"
She just shrugged, as if she doesn't know her father existed. I was just blown away by the absence and didn't ask again and maybe he would think I was very gossipy about other people's lives.
I just approached Shan and continued shopping, paid, and there we entered the cinema. They chose the horror movie to watch, but it was fun as long as they were with the group.
I just laughed at Patrick's reaction because he was so really scared at the movie. He was the only one with the loudest scream there, the other people were angry because they said they couldn't focus if Patrick was just screaming.
By the time the movie was over, the six of us had come out and couldn't stop our laughter. I could also clearly see that Zam seems to have fun with us, "It's an awful movie! It's scary!"
"Yes, twin. The other people right there are also scared. They were scared at your awful scream," Patricia teased her twin, "I don't doubt that you're gay."
"Oh, please! Shut up, Patty!"
"I don't have anything to say, guys," Faith said with a laugh, who had been silent all night, "I'm not scared either because I'm used to seeing some blood and stuff."
"Well, after all, that is your job to see blood. I thought you were scared, you were dumbfounded," Shan joked and turned to Zam, "How about you, Zam? Est-ce que tu t'amusés?"
It is not new to me that Shan is quite fluent in French because in High School we had such courses or subjects in Language. I used to choose the Korean Class, but it was still very difficult.
Unlike Shan, he took French Class but he is also very fluent. Only 'hello', 'love', 'goodbye', 'how are you?' I only know Korean, and the rest is gone.
Zam smiled at him and turned to us, "Yeah, I am having fun. Thanks for your time. I hope we can be friends, though our schedule and section are different."
"De rien!" Shan said happily, "Ok, now what? I'm tired so let's go home babe," he said and grabbed me and I too, followed him. Zam's house is also quite close to us because he is in the same village near ours in Villa Kananga, Butuan City.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
"SWEETIE! HURRY UP AND YOU'LL BE LATE ON THE FIRST DAY!" I rolled over on my bed when I heard the cry of my beloved mother.
I looked at the clock and saw that it was past six in the morning! My classes start at nine AM but I'm also in a hurry to take a shower and get dressed because of course, I'm excited to see my boyfriend!
When I went downstairs, I found my mom at the dining table but I noticed that dad was not there with her, "Good morning mom," I greeted and kissed her on her cheeks, "Where is dad, by the way? I haven't noticed him."
"He left early because he has some work to do and take care of something in Manila," my mom replied so I just nodded. Even though they are busy, it's not new to me. As long as I can be with them once a day or what, it's fine with me.
"How are you and Shan, sweetie?" she asked me and I looked at her. I don't know but I just kept smiling at her.
Ciara Rose Jones is crazy because of Shan Ralph Anderson!
"Shan and I are okay, mom. We're very happy," I replied.
She nodded in response, "You know, I'm happy because you've two have been together. Even though I was so busy then but that doesn't mean that I don't know anything about your life. I know you've like or perhaps love Shan for a long time."
"Yes, I love him so much," I just said, "Can't you see it, mom? We've been dating for a month, aren't we?"
"Yeah, right! Seriously, your boyfriend went through so much," she said while chewing her favorite lumpia shanghai, "From his relationship to Julie, then it happens that you two ended up together, your issue with Julie that you three were taken to the guidance officer, then recently that he found out about his real dad."
I just kept quiet, it's good now and his family is okay with them. They also discussed that he alternated bonding with his dad.
They also went out once and he had taken me, too. His dad is nice and fun to be with since I find that he is also funny, like Shan.
I ate again and then brushed my teeth before bidding my farewell to mom. She also gave me money for school allowance and I left the house.
Exactly out there, I find my most handsome boyfriend on the entire earth!
"Hi, babe!" I greeted him, "Come on. I'm excited for this semester!"
"Oh, you're just excited to be separated from me," of course, because we won't be in the same class this semester. It's a pity, but I can't do anything else to change that.
"You're so overreacting, Shan," I laughed and kissed him on the cheek, "Are we the only ones? Where is Faith? Is she not coming with us?"
"She already left earlier. My dad kind of dropped her off today. Well, they also need to bond as siblings, right?"
I nodded. Faith and John Anderson's gap as siblings is so cool, kind of long.
I think Faith is twenty years old and Shan's dad, John is thirty-four years old. In my calculations, all I know is that their gap is fourteen years.
I just shrugged as he opened the door for me to get on, "Hop in."
"Thanks, babe," I responded and I climbed in.
He closed the door before he went to the driver's seat and turned the engine on.
He then drove away and while we were on the road, I noticed he was slowing down so I looked at him.
"Wait, isn't that Zam?" he suddenly asked so I looked outside and he is right, it was Zam and she seemed to be waiting for a ride.
"Let's go near her," he said as it immediately stopped in front of him.
Zam's POV
I rolled my eyes and was irritated as waiting for a tricycle or bus to come over but until now, there is no such bus!
I got my phone as I felt that someone is calling. I see who was calling and I rolled my eyes and answered the phone.
"Qu'est-ce que c'est?" I answered. (What is it?)
"Hé! Je vais à Manille aujourd'hui et je serai de retour mercredi. Prends soin de toi!" I sighed and I turned off my phone. (Hey! I will be going to Manila today and I will be back on Wednesday. Take care!)
I put my phone back inside my bag and to this day, there is still no car.
Eventually, I was surprised when a car pulled up in front of me and when I saw who it was I smiled, "Oh! Hey, Ciara! And hello there, Shan!"
"Are you waiting there for an hour? Come on, come with us," Ciara said. It's embarrassing but I'm not going to act anymore, am I?
I rode in the back, "Thank you? It's embarrassing for you."
"What are you talking about? It's okay, with us," Shan said as he looked at me from the rearview mirror, "It's better than being late. It's really rare for motorbikes or buses to pass by here."
I nodded and averted my eyes from him.
Ciara's POV
I noticed that Zam was very quiet in the back so I chose to talk to her so that she wouldn't be out of the place with us.
"Aren't you rich? Don't you have a driver?" I said. I’m very talkative at these times.
She looked at me, "Not totally. But yeah, we have a driver but he kind of take my mom off the airport since she will go back to Manila. She's always busy, I get annoyed sometimes that she doesn't have time for me."
I just nodded. I realized that she was just like me, the only difference is that both my parents are busy, but now they are patching things from me.
"You know, we're the same. It's a good thing now they're both having kind of time from me," I said and I saw her smile a little.
"Yours is still good and is patching with you," said Zam.
"That's okay, I'm sure they will have time for you too," I said, "how about your dad?"
She looked at me and shrugged. I just didn't speak because I felt it was too personal.
Eventually, we got to school and they have a class this time. Shan and Zam left for their first class, after all, they are classmates.
I texted Patricia and they replied that Rafael was with them so I immediately followed there.
When I entered, I saw Rafa and Patty and even Rafa's best friend, Angelo sitting comfortably, but Patrick wasn't there, "Hey! Where's Patrick?"
"I don't know. I think he is buying some food because we didn't eat our breakfast," Patricia replied.
Just as I was sitting down, the door opened and Patrick came in with some food in his hands, "Who would like some? I bought a lot in case you're all hungry."
Her twin and Rafael got some food. We have also been pretty close to Rafa since we enrolled in the same class and his best friend, Angelo. Five of us are also in the same class, except for Rafael as he is irregular but we do have the same section.
Patrick sat down next to me and handed me a hotdog, "Here, you can have this. This is my treat."
I smiled and accepted it, "Thanks, Pat!" I said and bit it, "What time did you get here?"
"I think quarter to seven. So, Shan has a class now?"
I nodded, "Yes. After they finish the first subject, we will have a class at nine."
"They also have a lunch break, don't they?"
I nodded and laughed at him, "Of course, Pat! I guess they should not starve their selves, right? Besides, tomorrow we have a long break in the afternoon. Our class will end at 3 PM but I think they have a class from 4:30 to 6 PM."
"It's good then, it's hard when it's like that."
"Yes," Rafael commented, "you might even be like my sister."
"Why? What's wrong with your sister?" Patricia asked.
He was just shaken but still spoke, "My sister was so into academics so she got so busy in her college life, the consequence was her boyfriend and she broke up. I think they have been together for three years but they broke up," Rafael said.
"Oh shoot, that is kind of sad. Why did they split up?" Patrick asked the gossiper as always.
"All I know is that there is kind of a third party. Her boyfriend fell in love with her new classmate who is very close to him."
When Rafael said that, I kind of thought of something. Is it possible for that to happen to us?
