Kate's POV
I went directly home after our enjoyable meeting with John and Julia. It's wonderful to see them, and I'm relieved to be free of everything.
I wasn't expecting them to last, but I think they're meant to be together.
History indeed repeats itself in what occurred to our children today. My previous concern was Julia taking my ex-boyfriend. And now, it's my daughter's problem.
And, first and foremost, I sympathize with her because I understand how she feels about Shan, but when I meet him and discover that he is Julia's son, I realize that they cannot be together.
Julie was waiting for me at home when I returned, "Hey."
"What the hell, mom?! I thought we were on my side?!!" she screamed, and I shut my eyes. "Mom! I can't lose Shan!"
"Shut up! What do you like about Shan?! You thought I wasn't aware of that Dwight, too?"
"I've already left Dwight for Shan," she rolled her eyes. "I love Shan, mom! I don't know why, but I've felt that way since the first time I saw him. I'm happy when he's there."
"That's not love," I said, shaking my head. "Well, well, it's love, but it's a different sort of love."
She was confused and asked, "What do you mean?"
"You love him as if he were your brother," I explained, "since he is your only brother and you are siblings."
"What?! Are you serious?" she said, as I nodded. Julia and John were also informed of Julie's true identity.
FLASHBACK
As soon as I started college, I moved to Davao City. I am now enrolled at Ateneo de Davao University and am seeking a cheerleading position.
I didn't get the chance to make up for the wrongs I'd done to John and Julia. In regards to her child, I was far too harsh on her.
I was studying in the school library when I was tapped on the shoulder and asked, "Kate, is that you?"
"Hi, Phillip. It's fantastic to see you here," I remarked as he sat down next to me, "I don't notice you here at school. What's your course?" I asked.
"Engineering, Kate. It's fantastic to see you."
We spent and hung out a lot after that meeting with him. He'd take me to the pub now and then to air his grievances about Shan, Julia, his parents, and his schoolwork.
We were together one night, and as usual, we were drinking at his house. He's been depressed for a long time because he desperately wants Shan to know him as the father, but he can't do anything.
"It simply hurts because my son knows who I am but not as a father," he sobbed as he drank more. On the other hand, I sympathized with him and assisted him in getting into bed.
When I sat down with him, he kissed me unexpectedly, and all I could do was close my eyes. Our kiss grows deeper and deeper, his hands around my body, and all I can think about is that we made love.
He didn't seem to mind the next day, and I was pleased because our graduation was approaching.
After a few weeks, I noticed that something in me had changed. I was easily exhausted, always hungry, and threw up every morning.
I took a pregnancy test on the day of graduation and found out I was pregnant, which made me delighted because I was going to have a child.
"Kate, I'm traveling to Butuan tomorrow to see Shan. Would you like to accompany me?"
"No, I'm alright," I said with a smile, "I just can't face Julia and John yet."
He nodded and was about to walk away as I took his hands, "Phillip, I have something to tell you."
"What is that?" he asked, looking at me.
"I'm pregnant," I murmured, looking into his eyes.
I could see the surprise in his eyes. It's been particularly difficult for him since I know he's worried about his parents, but I'm grateful that he chose to stay and fight for me and my child.
That's why he gave her the name Julianna Shannah obviously, and Julia Shan.
Ciara's POV
"Yeah yeah," Faith answered, "I'm pleased nothing bad happened to both of you." I'm at Shan's place on Saturday, but I'm currently bonding with Faith. I miss her as well. We've been really busy as a result of several school activities, particularly now that she's in her second year of college.
"I know she's upset; I heard Julie broke up with her boyfriend solely for Shan," I explained. "Dwight goes to the same school as Julie, but he's at the Morelos Campus."
Our school has several locations in Butuan City. There are names of Butuan's founders or past bishops, as they are known. Father Saturnino Urios University - B.P. Pueblos are located in the Main School or here at the College, while the second is Morelos Campus.
"I assume Dwight's family is rich; isn't that school much more expensive than the Senior High - Main?" Shan inquired as he sat on my lap.
"Yes, it makes sense because Julie's family is rich, and according to Patty, they have another home in Libertad."
"I'm sure they always meet there, but I don't care," Shan stated as he stood up from his laying position. "Because I'm content with what I have right now."
"Me too," I said as I held him. "I love you so much, babe."
"I love you, too," he said as he peered into my eyes and I could see the sparks in his eyes, which were so lovely.
Faith coughed just as he was about to kiss me. We had forgotten that she was with us, so my eyes widened. "Sorry, Faith," I said, a wild smile on my face.
Faith exclaimed, "You two are making me envious, your love life is so wonderful!" We couldn't help but chuckle since she's so cute when she's pouting.
Shan quipped, "Don't worry, we'll get you a boyfriend," and we all laughed. I understand that having a boyfriend isn't a priority for her right now and that she still wants to be a nurse.
Julia's POV
I sighed and looked into Faith's room at the three of them. I couldn't help but smile at the thought that their trio had been so strong since they were little.
Lyn, my best friend, came to my mind unexpectedly. Lyn and June did not end up together, as you can see. Unfortunately, one of the most beloved and well-liked couples didn't last long. Lyn had to move abroad with her family once she finished college, and they settled there. I'm hoping they'll find each other since I believe they're meant to be together.
"Hon, I don't know what to do anymore," I muttered as I observed them. "Does he need to know more about the past?" I asked John, who was standing next to me.
He glanced at me and smiled sadly, "Even I don't know," he murmured, kissing my hands, "but in case you'll do it, I'm always right here." He's still the John I love, and that's not going to change.
"Let's go get some coffee together," I suggested, and we went to the kitchen to fetch some hot water and coffee.
"Shall we specifically say?" I asked as soon as I sat down in my chair after brewing the coffee.
I grinned as John said, "It's up to you, hon."
"Why did Kate simply show up now," I groaned, "Now, our kids are having a hard time," I said, sighed again, "Though we know Shan is okay because Ciara is there, I'm not sure how Kate and Phillip's daughter feels."
"Phillip didn't state that Kate was the woman he was pregnant with at the time," John said, shocked and unable to recall the events.
Everything that happened that night after Phillip came to see us after graduation came flooding back to me.
FLASHBACK
Even though he was late, I was glad Phillip was able to come and greet us on graduation day. When I took his present, I observed he was a little sluggish and had lost weight.
I couldn't help but question him, "Are you okay, Phil? You seem to be in trouble now," because I could see he was concealing something and a problem.
"It's nothing; I've just arrived from my trip; perhaps I'm simply sleepy."
"Phil, I know you so well. You can count on us and you know that. I know you have a problem," I just shrugged and grabbed his shoulder.
"It's just that I got a girl pregnant," Phillip muttered, and my eyes widened in surprise. No wonder he's in difficulty again, and he has to deal with it again. I'm aware of Phillip's parents' capabilities.
"It's just irritating because I only found out yesterday! I just realized what a jerk I am for letting that happen! I don't know what to do anymore," Phillip said, closing his eyes.
"Did you have a girlfriend in Davao?" I inquire.
"No. She's not my girlfriend. She's from Butuan, and I'm sure you already know her, but it's up to you. I was so depressed before when I found out about the stupid thing I did to Shan, there was no day that I wasn't repenting and regretting. Maybe the last two months or I just don't remember how drunk I was, I don't know what has happened to me then, and maybe I was with someone and I had s*x with her."
END OF FLASHBACK
As I recalled it, I realized that he simply didn't want to know that Kate was the woman with whom he was having a child. He simply didn't want to tell me or let me know because I already knew Phillip. His children's paths meet purposefully even today.
"I'm so confused, Hon. I don't know if he should know everything? I mean, we're OK, aren't we?" I sighed and glanced at my honey's smooth and tired face.
"I understand," he replied as he took my hands in his. "But if it were just me, Shan would have the right to meet Phillip as well."
"I'm terrified, John," I murmured, "I'm scared that one day I might lose my child. I don't want that to happen." Tears began to stream down my cheeks.
"You will never lose Shan. We will never lose him, remember that, Lia," John said as he rose and hugged me. "Your son loves you, but he also has the right to know who his actual father is."
"Mom? Is it true what we heard?" Shan and Faith appeared after John had finished speaking.
"Shan, son," I said, and I was about to approach him when he pulled away and shook his head.
"No, that's not true; I don't have any other parent but Daddy John!" he cried as he returned to their room.
I groaned as John held me and whispered, "Let your son go first. He needs time to readjust." Faith was still standing there.
"How did it happen?" Faith asked so we took a seat at the dining table and I told her everything that had transpired.
"You were so small when we moved here with Baby Shan. Shan was already there before I developed a relationship with your older brother."
"I understand," she added, "but why didn't you tell him?"
"Is that still necessary? I don't want us to get into any more problems," I explained. "That's why I didn't tell you, but I figured you knew before you were a baby." I do remember when she asked me if I was his mommy.
"Julia, I know you're concerned about your family's well-being, but I believe Shan also needs to know. It's too late because he already knows and has refused to accept it, but I know he can still understand you," Faith said as she held my hand.
"I hope so," I said as I dialed my parents' and in-laws' numbers. I informed them of the situation. Because John's parents are also in the neighboring subdivision, I know they can assist.
Good thing they responded that they will be here to accompany and help us let Shan understand.
