Chapter 53

Six months later...
(Scarlett)
My life had done a complete three-sixty over the past few months. I had gone from a social outcast.To...no who was I kidding? I was still a social outcast with an attitude problem. But I did have more than one friend now; I had a whole group of them.

Storm, of course, was still my best friend that I loved more than anyone. Thankfully she had made a miraculous recovery from her depression and was even back at school, although she was still a whole term behind on coursework. However, she was putting in the extra hours and was slowly getting on top of it again.
Storm even had a girlfriend now, Bee, who she had met during her time at the hospital. They were incredibility adorable together and were both massive nerds, unlike me. I totally take the credit for her turning into a lesbian, just saying.
Barbie, sorry, Cheryl. Left Blossom Lake about five and a half months ago. I won’t take the credit for it. Although I feel like it might have been related to an incident involving some naked photos of her that an ex-boyfriend had leaked. I couldn’t say I was sorry to see the bitch go. After all, she had been the cause of at least seventy per cent of our problems this year alone. Oh, and I had tried to break up my relationship at least four times.
“Storm pass the BBQ sauce?” I demand from my spot on top of Loki’s lap.
“Here,” Alisa offered, her diamond engagement ring sparkling in the sunlight as she hands me the sauce. “Soon to be Sister-in-law.” She teased. Yes, yes. Adam and Alisa were both very young, and it had almost given her dad a heart attack when they told him. No word of a lie. But Adam was fucking crazy about Alisa, and they had been dating for over six years, so in all honestly, it hadn’t been much of a surprise to me. Adam had been planning his life around her forever, and they even had matching tattooed over their hearts. Alisa was his fricking soulmate, and I was more than happy to call her my sister. There was no way it wouldn’t work out.
“I will never get used to hearing that!” I laugh, taking the BBQ from her and squeezing it onto my hot dog.

“How’s the dress hunt coming?” Bee asks, stealing fries off Storms plate despite her protest.
“A fricking nightmare. I ordered a dress online as it was a total steal. But it came from China and would barely fit over one thigh,” Alisa exclaimed before stuffing her face with another handful of chips. Well, at least she wasn’t doing one of those insane diets.
“Any news about Jhon’s whereabouts?” Loki whispered to Adam when he thought I wasn’t listening. I quickly shook off the shudder of disgust that passed through me.
“No, nothing, it’s like he disappeared into fucking smoke,” Adam complained, gritting his teeth as if he too felt disgusted by the very mention of our ex guardians name.

Although I knew he was still out there somewhere. I still hadn’t pressed charges on him; I wasn’t sure I could have endured taking it to court and being questioned like I was the guilty one. But the fear and guilt that he might be grooming another young girl somewhere forever haunted me.
I had been having nightmares and panic attacks ever since that night, though they were thankfully getting fewer and further between. I hadn’t spent the night alone in my own room since, despite Adam getting the locks changed and an advanced security system they had installed. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.
“Okay, here we go! who wants a burger?” Karen offered, holding up a plate.
“Here, let me,” Dr Qinn, sorry George, insisted, offering her a quick kiss on the cheek.
Karen had gotten a divorce from Mr Morganstar after being caught having an affair with his security; he hadn’t even bothered to come and visit his own daughter in the hospital. Arsehole.
None of us had honestly been surprised, but that didn’t mean it was a perpetually nice couple of mouths for Karen. But thankful in the past month, she had slowly been finding her feet. She had even been starting to date Dr Quinn. Much to Storms disgust.
“As the only single person here, I claim first dibs!” Asher declares with a cheeky grin.
I had broken off all romantic ties with Asher the day after Loki had asked me to be his girlfriend. It had been a surprisingly emotional experience for both of us. I had really grown to like Asher, and he was everything I wished I wanted. I was sure if Loki hadn’t been in the picture, then we would have been really happy together. But Asher still remains our very close friend.
“Honestly, not something you should brag about, mate,” Loki chuckles. But sadly, Asher and Loki relationship had changed for the worse. They were still friends, but never as close as they once were, and Loki was incredibly jealous if we were spending any time together.
“Don’t come between a man and his burger; you got your girl. Let me have mine,” He taunts, offering me a wink deliberately to piss him off. Loki tensed.
“Loki. If you want to touch me later, you will not sink to his level,” I warn, quite so only he could hear as I offer him a wicked smile. Loki huffed out a breath, his dark gaze flicking from my lips to my breasts as if debating what he wanted to devour first.
“If Adam weren’t here, I’d take you up to my room and have you right now,” Loki promised, adjusting me on his laps so I could feel the evidence of what was waiting for me later. I bite my lip, trying and failing to hide my blush.
My relationship with Loki has been...complicated. We fight a lot, mostly because he a cocky, possessive male bastard. Who needs everything to be done his way all the time. While I’m a stubborn brat that likes to push her luck. We always makeup, usually within a couple of hours and end up fucking each other’s brains out in the process. Not giving a fuck where or who is around.
The sex was insane. Loki had the body of a god, stamina of a lion and libido of a sexually frustrated teenage boy. But that’s not to say our relationship was just fighting and makeup sex. Loki had taken me on a proper, which he completely and utterly spoiled me. He was surprisingly good at the whole boyfriend thing. Though I wasn’t entirely sure if Storm had something to do with that, but I didn’t care. Loki loved me, and I loved him. We were family. Nothing was going to come between us.
“It’s never stopped you before,” I taunt, adjusting my position to grind up against him. Loki lets out a breathy laugh to suppress his growing pleasure.
“Do you want your brother to hear you as I make you scream my name?” Loki warns, his breath tickling my ear as his fingers grazing the skin just above my jeans. I let my head roll back against his shoulder, my eyes closing.
“Get a room!” Shawn shouts from across the garden.
“Some of us are trying to eat,” Adam seconds, his nose scrunched up with disgust. I couldn’t help it. I burst out laughing.
